1 "Sing, barren, you who didn’t give birth!

Break out into singing, and cry aloud, you who didn’t travail with child!

For more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife," says Yahweh.

2 "Enlarge the place of your tent,

and let them stretch out the curtains of your habitations;

don’t spare; lengthen your cords, and strengthen your stakes.

3 For you will spread out on the right hand and on the left;

and your offspring will possess the nations

and settle in desolate cities.

4 "Don’t be afraid, for you will not be ashamed.

Don’t be confounded, for you will not be disappointed.

For you will forget the shame of your youth.

You will remember the reproach of your widowhood no more.

5 For your Maker is your husband; Yahweh of Armies is his name.

The Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer.

He will be called the God of the whole earth.

6 For Yahweh has called you as a wife forsaken and grieved in spirit,

even a wife of youth, when she is cast off," says your God.

7 "For a small moment I have forsaken you,

but I will gather you with great mercies.

8 In overflowing wrath I hid my face from you for a moment,

but with everlasting loving kindness I will have mercy on you," says Yahweh your Redeemer.

9 "For this is like the waters of Noah to me;

for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah will no more go over the earth,

so I have sworn that I will not be angry with you, nor rebuke you.

10 For the mountains may depart,

and the hills be removed,

but my loving kindness will not depart from you,

and my covenant of peace will not be removed,"

says Yahweh who has mercy on you.

11 "You afflicted, tossed with storms, and not comforted,

behold, I will set your stones in beautiful colors,

and lay your foundations with sapphires.

12 I will make your pinnacles of rubies,

your gates of sparkling jewels,

and all your walls of precious stones.

13 All your children will be taught by Yahweh,

and your children’s peace will be great.

14 You will be established in righteousness.

You will be far from oppression,

for you will not be afraid,

and far from terror,

for it shall not come near you.

15 Behold, they may gather together, but not by me.

Whoever gathers together against you will fall because of you.

16 "Behold, I have created the blacksmith who fans the coals into flame,

and forges a weapon for his work;

and I have created the destroyer to destroy.

17 No weapon that is formed against you will prevail;

and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment.

This is the heritage of Yahweh’s servants,

and their righteousness is of me," says Yahweh.

1 不能生育、没有生养过孩子的啊！ 你要欢呼。没有生产过的啊！ 你要发声欢呼， 高声呼喊。因为弃妇比有夫之妇有更多儿子。这是耶和华说的。

2 要扩张你帐幕的地方， 伸展你居所的幔子， 不要限制； 要拉长你的绳索， 坚固你的橛子。

3 因为你要向南向北扩展， 你的后裔必占有列国之地， 又使荒废了的城镇有人居住。

4 不要惧怕， 因为你必不致蒙羞； 也不要抱愧， 因为你必不致受辱， 你必忘记你幼年时的羞愧， 也不再记念你寡居时的耻辱。

5 因为造你的， 就是你的丈夫； 万军之耶和华是他的名； 救赎你的， 就是以色列的圣者； 他被称为全地的 神。

6 因为耶和华召唤你， 如同召唤被离弃、心灵忧伤的妻子， 就是幼年时所娶却被弃绝的妻子； 这是你的 神说的。

7 我只是暂时离弃你， 却以极大的怜悯把你招聚回来。

8 在怒气涨溢的时候， 我暂时向你掩面， 却要以永远的慈爱怜悯你； 这是耶和华你的救赎主说的。

9 这事对我就好像挪亚时代的洪水一般； 我怎样起誓不再使挪亚时代的洪水漫过大地， 我也照样起誓不向你发怒， 也不斥责你。

10 虽然大山可以挪开， 小山可以迁移， 但我的慈爱必不从你身上挪开， 我和平的约也必不迁移； 这是怜悯你的耶和华说的。

11 受困苦、被风飘荡、不得安慰的啊！ 你看， 我要用彩色的石头安置你的基石， 以蓝宝石奠定你的根基。

12 又用红宝石做你的城楼， 用红玉做你的城门， 用各种宝石做你四周的围墙。

13 你所有的儿女都必受耶和华的教导， 你的儿女必大享平安。

14 你必因公义得以坚立； 你必远离欺压， 你必无所惧怕； 你也必远离惊吓， 因为惊吓必不会临近你。

15 看哪！ 必有人起来攻击你， 但那不是出于我； 攻击你的， 必因你仆倒。

16 看哪！ 那吹炭火、打造出合用武器的铁匠， 是我创造的； 那残害人、行毁灭的， 也是我创造的。

17 为攻击你而制成的武器， 都没有效用； 在审判的时候兴起来与你争辩的舌头， 你都必定它为有罪。这是耶和华众仆人的产业， 他们的义是从我而得； 这是耶和华说的。
