1 "Put the trumpet to your lips!

Something like an eagle is over Yahweh’s house,

because they have broken my covenant

and rebelled against my law.

2 They cry to me, ‘My God, we, Israel, acknowledge you!’

3 Israel has cast off that which is good.

The enemy will pursue him.

4 They have set up kings, but not by me.

They have made princes, and I didn’t approve.

Of their silver and their gold they have made themselves idols,

that they may be cut off.

5 Let Samaria throw out his calf idol!

My anger burns against them!

How long will it be until they are capable of purity?

6 For this is even from Israel!

The workman made it, and it is no God;

indeed, the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.

7 For they sow the wind,

and they will reap the whirlwind.

He has no standing grain.

The stalk will yield no head.

If it does yield, strangers will swallow it up.

8 Israel is swallowed up.

Now they are among the nations like a worthless thing.

9 For they have gone up to Assyria,

like a wild donkey wandering alone.

Ephraim has hired lovers for himself.

10 But although they sold themselves among the nations,

I will now gather them;

and they begin to waste away because of the oppression of the king of mighty ones.

11 Because Ephraim has multiplied altars for sinning,

they became for him altars for sinning.

12 I wrote for him the many things of my law,

but they were regarded as a strange thing.

13 As for the sacrifices of my offerings,

they sacrifice meat and eat it,

but Yahweh doesn’t accept them.

Now he will remember their iniquity,

and punish their sins.

They will return to Egypt.

14 For Israel has forgotten his Maker and built palaces;

and Judah has multiplied fortified cities;

but I will send a fire on his cities,

and it will devour its fortresses."

Mânia Mea s-a aprins împotriva lor! Până când*Ier. 13:27. nu vor voi ei să se țină curați? 6 Idolul acesta vine din Israel, un lucrător l-a făcut, și nu este Dumnezeu. De aceea, vițelul Samariei va fi făcut bucăți! 7 Fiindcă au semănat*Prov. 22:8. Cap. 10:12,13. vânt, vor secera furtună. Nu le va crește un spic de grâu; ce va răsări nu va da făină și, dacă ar da, ar mânca-o străinii*Cap. 7:9.. 8 Israel este nimicit*2 Împ. 17:6.! Acum ei au ajuns printre neamuri ca un vas*Ier. 22:28;48:38. fără preț. 9 Căci s-au dus*2 Împ. 15:19. în Asiria, ca un măgar sălbatic*Ier. 2:24. care umblă răzleț. Efraim a dat*Is. 30:6. daruri ca să aibă prieteni! 10 Chiar dacă ei dau daruri neamurilor, tot îi voi apăsa*Ezec. 16:37. Cap. 10:10., ca să înceteze pentru puțină vreme să mai ungă vreun împărat și domni*Is. 10:8.Ezec. 26:7.Dan. 2:37.. 11 Căci Efraim a zidit multe altare*Cap. 12:11. ca să păcătuiască, și altarele acestea l-au făcut să cadă în păcat. 12 Chiar dacă-i scriu toate poruncile*Deut. 4:6,8.Ps. 119:18;147:19,20. Legii Mele, totuși ele sunt privite ca ceva străin. 13 Ei înjunghie*Ier. 7:21.Zah. 7:6. vitele pe care Mi le aduc și carnea le-o mănâncă, de aceea*Ier. 14:10,12. Cap. 5:6;9:4.Amos 5:22. Domnul nu le primește! Acum*Cap. 9:9.Amos 8:7., Domnul Își aduce aminte de nelegiuirea lor și le va pedepsi păcatele: se*Deut. 28:68. Cap. 9:3,6;11:5. vor întoarce în Egipt! 14 Căci*Deut. 32:18. Israel a uitat pe Cel ce l-a făcut*Is. 29:23.Efes. 2:10., și-a zidit*1 Împ. 12:31. palate și Iuda a înmulțit cetățile întărite; de aceea voi*Ier. 17:27.Amos 2:5. trimite foc în cetățile lor și le va mistui palatele."
