| 4 mapa | And Ben-hadad hearkened to king Asa, and sent the captains of his armies against the cities of Israel; and they smote Ijon, and Dan, and Abelmaim, and all the store cities of Naphtali. | És engedvén Benhadád Asa királynak, elküldé az õ seregének vezéreit Izráel városai ellen, és bevevé Ijont, Dánt, Abelmáimot és Nafthali minden kincses városait. |

| 8 | Were not the Cushites and the Lubims a numerous army, with very many chariots and horsemen? yet, because thou didst rely on the LORD, he delivered them into thy hand. | Avagy nem vala-é a Szerecseneknek és a Libiabelieknek nagy seregök, felette sok szekereik és lovagjaik? Mindazáltal, mivel az Úrban volt bizodalmad, kezedbe adá azokat; |
| 9 | For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect towards him. In this thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars. | Mert az Úr szemei forognak az egész földön, hogy hatalmát megmutassa azokhoz, a kik õ hozzá teljes szívvel ragaszkodnak; bolondul cselekedél ebben; azért mostantól kezdve háborúk lesznek te ellened. |
| 10 | Then Asa was wroth with the seer, and put him in a prison house; for he was in a rage with him because of this thing. And Asa oppressed some of the people the same time. | Akkor megharaguvék Asa a prófétára, és veté õt a tömlöczházba, mert igen megharagudott vala e szóért reá; és ugyanakkor Asa a nép közül is [sokat] megnyomoríta. |
| 11 | And behold, the acts of Asa, first and last, lo, they are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel. | De ímé Asának mind elsõ, mind utolsó dolgai meg vannak írva a Júda és az Izráel királyainak könyvében. |
| 12 | And Asa in the thirty and ninth year of his reign was diseased in his feet, until his disease was exceedingly severe: yet in his disease he sought not to the LORD, but to the physicians. | És megbetegedék Asa, királyságának harminczkilenczedik esztendejében lábaira, annyira, hogy igen súlyos volt az õ betegsége; mindazáltal betegségében is nem az Urat keresé, hanem az orvosokat. |
| 13 | And Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the one and fortieth year of his reign. | És elaluvék Asa az õ atyáival, és meghala az õ királyságának negyvenegyedik esztendejében. |
| 14 | And they buried him in his own sepulchers which he had made for himself in the city of David, and laid him in the bed which was filled with sweet odors and divers kinds of spices prepared by the apothecaries' art: and they made a very great burning for him. | És eltemeték õt az õ sírjába, a melyet magának vágatott vala a Dávid városában; és helyezék õt az ágyba, a melyet megtöltének drága fûszerekkel, s kenõcscsé feldolgozott jó illatokkal, és érette felette nagy égést rendezének. |
