Josué 6

1 mapa Now Jericho was closely shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in. Jérikhó pedig be- és elzárkózott vala az Izráel fiai miatt, se ki nem jöhetett, se be nem mehetett senki.
2 mapa And the LORD said to Joshua, See, I have given into thy hand Jericho, and its king, and the mighty men of valor. És monda az Úr Józsuénak: Lásd! kezedbe adtam Jérikhót és királyát a sereg vitézeivel [együtt.]
3 And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round the city once: thus shalt thou do six days. Azért járjátok körül a várost mind ti hadakozó emberek, megkerülvén egyszer a várost. Így cselekedjél hat napon át.
4 And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams' horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets. És hét pap hordozzon hét kos-szarvból való kürtöt a láda elõtt; a hetedik napon azonban hétszer kerüljétek meg a várost, a papok pedig kürtöljenek a kürtökkel.
5 And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram's horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout: and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend every man straight before him. És ha majd belefúnak a kos-szarvba, mihelyt meghalljátok a kürtnek szavát, kiáltson fel az egész nép nagy kiáltással, és leszakad a város kõfala magától, és felmegy arra a nép, kiki az elõtte való helyen.
6 And Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said to them, Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of the LORD. Elõhívá azért Józsué, a Nún fia, a papokat és monda nékik: Vegyétek fel a frigyládát, hét pap pedig vigyen hét kos-szarvból való kürtöt az Úr ládája elõtt.
7 And he said to the people, Pass on, and compass the city, and let him that is armed pass on before the ark of the LORD. A népnek pedig monda: Menjetek el, és kerüljétek meg a várost, a fegyveresek pedig menjenek az Úr ládája elõtt.
8 And it came to pass, when Joshua had spoken to the people, that the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams' horns passed on before the LORD, and blew with the trumpets: and the ark of the covenant of the LORD followed them. És úgy lõn, a mint mondotta vala Józsué a népnek. A hét pap ugyanis, a kik a kos-szarvból való hét kürtöt vivék, az Úr elõtt megy vala, és kürtölt vala a kürtökkel, az Úrnak frigyládája pedig utánok megy vala.
9 And the armed men went before the priests that blew with the trumpets, and the rear-guard came after the ark, the priests going on, and blowing with the trumpets. A fegyveresek pedig elõttök mennek vala a kürtölõ papoknak, és a köznép követi vala a ládát, menvén és kürtölvén kürtökkel.
10 And Joshua had commanded the people, saying, Ye shall not shout, nor make any noise with your voice, neither shall any word proceed from your mouth, until the day I bid you shout, then shall ye shout. A népnek pedig parancsolt vala Józsué, mondván: Ne kiáltsatok, hangotokat se hallassátok, és szó se jõjjön ki szátokból addig a napig, a míg azt mondom néktek: Kiáltsatok; és akkor kiáltsatok.
11 So the ark of the LORD compassed the city, going about it once: and they came into the camp, and lodged in the camp. Körüljárák azért az Úrnak ládájával a várost, egyszer megkerülvén; azután visszatérének a táborba, és az éjszakát a táborban tölték.
12 And Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of the LORD. Józsué pedig felkele jó reggel, és felvevék a papok az Úrnak ládáját.
13 And seven priests bearing seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of the LORD went on continually, and blew with the trumpets: and the armed men went before them; but the rear-guard came after the ark of the LORD, the priests going on, and blowing with the trumpets. És a hét pap, a kik a kos-szarvból való hét kürtöt vivék, az Úr ládája elõtt megy vala folyton, és kürtöl vala a kürtökkel, a fegyveresek pedig elõttök mennek vala, és a köznép követi az Úrnak ládáját, menvén és kürtökkel kürtölvén.
14 And the second day they compassed the city once, and returned into the camp. So they did six days. A második napon is egyszer kerülék meg a várost, azután visszatérének a táborba. Így cselekedének hat napon át.
15 And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they rose early about the dawning of the day, and compassed the city after the same manner seven times: only on that day they compassed the city seven times. És lõn a hetedik napon, hogy felkelének, mihelyt a hajnal feljöve, és megkerülék a várost a szokott módon hétszer; csak ezen a napon kerülék meg a várost hétszer.
16 And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said to the people, Shout; for the LORD hath given you the city. És lõn, hogy a hetedik forduláskor kürtölnek vala a papok a kürtökkel, Józsué pedig monda a népnek: Kiáltsatok, mert néktek adta az Úr a várost!
17 And the city shall be accursed, even it, and all that are in it, to the LORD: only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all that are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent. És legyen a város maga, és minden, a mi benne van, teljesen az Úrnak szentelve; csak a parázna Ráháb maradjon életben, õ és mindazok, a kik vele vannak a házban, mert elrejtette a követeket, a kiket küldöttünk volt.
18 And ye, in any wise keep yourselves from the accursed thing, lest ye make yourselves accursed, when ye take of the accursed thing, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it. Mindazáltal ti óvjátok meg magatokat a teljesen [Istennek ] szentelt dolgoktól, hogy miután [néki] szentelitek, el ne vegyetek a teljesen [néki] szentelt dolgokból, hogy Izráel táborát átkozottá ne tegyétek, és bajba ne keverjétek azt.
19 But all the silver, and gold, and vessels of brass and iron, are consecrated to the LORD: they shall come into the treasury of the LORD. Hanem mivel minden ezüst- és arany-, meg réz- és vasedény az Úrnak van szentelve, az Úrnak kincse közé jusson.
20 So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city. Kiálta azért a nép, mihelyt kürtölének a kürtökkel. Lõn ugyanis, a mint meghallá a nép a kürtnek szavát, kiálta a nép nagy kiáltással, és leszakada a kõfal magától, és felméne a nép a városba, kiki az elõtte való helyen, és bevevék a várost.
21 And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword. És teljesen kipusztítának mindent, a mi csak vala a városban, a férfitól az asszonyig, a gyermektõl az öregig, sõt az ökörig, juhig és a szamárig, fegyver élivel.
22 But Joshua had said to the two men that spied out the country, Go into the harlot's house, and bring out thence the woman, and all that she hath, as ye swore to her. A két férfiúnak pedig, a kik megkémlelték vala a földet, monda Józsué: Menjetek be a parázna asszonynak házába és hozzátok ki onnét az asszonyt és mindazt, a mije van, a miképen megesküdtetek néki.
23 And the young men that were spies went in, and brought out Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all that she had; and they brought out all her kindred, and left them without the camp of Israel. Bemenének azért a kémlõ ifjak, és kihozák Ráhábot, és az õ atyját, anyját és az õ atyjafiait, és mindazt, a mije vala, és minden cselédjét is kihozák, és helyezék õket Izráel táborán kivül.
24 And they burnt the city with fire, and all that was in it: only the silver, and the gold, and the vessels of brass and of iron, they put into the treasury of the house of the LORD. A várost pedig megégeték tûzzel, és mind azt, a mi benne vala; csakis az ezüstöt és aranyat és a réz- és vasedényeket rakták az Úr házának kincsei közé.
25 mapa And Joshua saved Rahab the harlot alive, and her father's household, and all that she had; and she dwelleth in Israel even to this day; because she hid the messengers which Joshua sent to spy out Jericho. A parázna Ráhábot pedig, és az õ atyjának háznépét és mindenét, a mije vala, élni hagyta vala Józsué, és ott lakik az Izráel között mind e mai napig; mert elrejtette vala a követeket, a kiket küldött volt Józsué, hogy kikémleljék Jérikhót.
26 mapa And Joshua adjured them at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before the LORD, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho: he shall lay its foundation in his first-born, and in his youngest son shall he set up the gates of it. És átkot szóla Józsué azon a napon, mondván: Átkozott legyen az Úr elõtt az a férfiú, a ki felkél, hogy megépítse e várost, Jérikhót! Az õ elsõ szülöttjére rakja le annak alapját s legifjabb fiára állítsa fel annak kapuit!
27 So the LORD was with Joshua; and his fame was noised throughout all the country. És vala az Úr Józsuéval, és lõn híre az egész földön.
