| 1 | And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him. | Mikor pedig elmult a szombat, Mária Magdaléna, és Mária a Jakab [anyja], és Salomé, drága keneteket vásárlának, hogy elmenvén, megkenjék õt. |
| 2 | And very early in the morning, the first day of the week, they came to the sepulcher at the rising of the sun: | És korán reggel, a hétnek elsõ napján a sírbolthoz menének napfelköltekor. |
| 3 | And they said among themselves, Who shall roll away for us the stone from the door of the sepulcher? | És mondják vala maguk között: Kicsoda hengeríti el nékünk a követ a sírbolt szájáról? |
| 4 | (And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away) for it was very great. | És odatekintvén, láták, hogy a kõ el van hengerítve; mert felette nagy vala. |
| 5 | And entering into the sepulcher, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were frightened. | És bemenvén a sírboltba, látának egy ifjút ülni jobb felõl, fehér ruhába öltözve; és megfélemlének. |
| 6 mapa | And he saith to them, Be not frightened: ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him: | Az pedig monda nékik: Ne féljetek. A Názáreti Jézust keresitek, a ki megfeszíttetett; föltámadott, nincsen itt; ímé a hely, a hová õt helyezék. |
| 7 mapa | But go, tell his disciples and Peter, that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said to you. | De menjetek el, mondjátok meg az õ tanítványainak és Péternek, hogy elõttetek megyen Galileába; ott meglátjátok õt, a mint megmondotta néktek. |
| 8 | And they went out quickly, and fled from the sepulcher; for they trembled, and were amazed: neither said they any thing to any man; for they were afraid. | És nagyhamar kijövén, elfutának a sírbolttól, mert félelem és álmélkodás fogta vala el õket; és senkinek semmit sem szólának, mert félnek vala. |
| 9 | Now when Jesus was risen early, the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven demons. | Mikor pedig reggel, a hétnek elsõ napján föltámadott vala, megjelenék elõször Mária Magdalénának, a kibõl hét ördögöt ûzött vala ki. |
| 10 | And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept. | Ez elmenvén, megjelenté azoknak, a kik vele valának [és] keseregnek és sírnak vala. |
| 11 | And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen by her, believed not. | Azok pedig mikor hallották, hogy él és õ látta vala, nem hivék. |
| 12 | After that, he appeared in another form to two of them, as they were walking and going into the country. | Ezután pedig közülök kettõnek jelenék meg más alakban, útközben, mikor a mezõre mennek vala. |
| 13 | And they went and told it to the residue: neither believed they them. | Ezek is elmenvén, megjelenték a többieknek; ezeknek sem hivének. |
| 14 | Afterward he appeared to the eleven, as they sat at table, and upbraided them with their unbelief, and hardness of heart, because they believed not them who had seen him after he was risen. | Azután, mikor asztalnál ülnek vala megjelenék magának a tizenegynek, és szemükre hányá az õ hitetlenségöket és keményszívûségöket, hogy azoknak, a kik õt feltámadva látták vala, nem hivének, |
| 15 | And he said to them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. | És monda nékik: Elmenvén e széles világra, hirdessétek az evangyéliomot minden teremtésnek. |
| 16 | He that believeth and is baptized, shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. | A ki hiszen és megkeresztelkedik, idvezül; a ki pedig nem hiszen, elkárhozik. |
| 17 | And these signs shall follow them that believe: In my name shall they cast out demons; they shall speak in new languages; | Azokat pedig, a kik hisznek, ilyen jelek követik: az én nevemben ördögöket ûznek; új nyelveken szólnak. |
| 18 | They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. | Kígyókat vesznek föl; és ha valami halálost isznak, meg nem árt nékik: betegekre vetik kezeiket, és meggyógyulnak. |
| 19 | So then after the Lord had spoken to them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. | Az Úr azért, minekutána szólott vala nékik, felviteték a mennybe, és üle az Istennek jobbjára. |
| 20 | And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen. | Azok pedig kimenvén, prédikálának mindenütt, az Úr együtt munkálván velök, és megerõsítvén az ígét a jelek által, a melyek követik vala. Ámen! |
