| 1 | And he began to speak to them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and set a hedge about it, and digged a place for the wine-vat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country. | És kezde nékik példázatokban beszélni: Egy ember szõlõt ültetett, és körülvevé gyepûvel, és sajtót ása, és tornyot építe, és kiadá azt munkásoknak, és elutazék. |
| 2 | And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard. | És a maga idejében szolgát külde a munkásokhoz, hogy kapjon a munkásoktól a szõlõ gyümölcsébõl. |
| 3 | And they caught him, and beat him and sent him away empty. | Azok pedig megfogván azt, megverék, és üresen küldék vissza. |
| 4 | And again, he sent to them another servant: and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully handled. | És ismét külde hozzájuk egy másik szolgát; azt pedig kõvel dobálván meg, fejét betörék, és gyalázattal illetve, visszaküldék. |
| 5 | And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some. | És ismét másikat külde; ezt pedig megölék: és sok másokat; némelyeket megvervén, némelyeket pedig megölvén. |
| 6 | Having yet therefore one son, his well-beloved, he sent him also last to them, saying, They will reverence my son. | Minthogy pedig még egy egyetlen szerelmes fia is vala, utoljára azt is elküldé hozzájok, ezt mondván: A fiamat meg fogják becsülni. |
| 7 | But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours. | Azok a munkások azonban ezt mondák magok között: Ez az örökös; jertek, öljük meg õt, és a miénk lesz az örökség. |
| 8 | And they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard. | És megfogván azt, megölék, és a szõlõn kívül veték. |
| 9 | What therefore will the Lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard to others. | Mit cselekszik hát a szõlõnek ura? Eljõ és elveszti a munkásokat, és a szõlõt másoknak adja. |
| 10 | And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner: | Ezt az írást sem olvastátok-é? A mely követ az építõk megvetettek, az lett a szeglet fejévé. |
| 11 | This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes? | Az Úrtól lett ez, és csodálatos a mi szemeink elõtt. |
| 12 | And they sought to lay hold on him, but feared the people; for they knew that he had spoken the parable against them: and they left him, and departed. | És igyekeznek vala õt megfogni, de féltek a sokaságtól. Mert tudták, hogy a példázatot ellenük mondotta. Azért elhagyván õt, tovább menének. |
| 13 | And they sent to him certain of the Pharisees, and of the Herodians, to catch him in his words. | És küldének hozzá némelyeket a farizeusok és a Heródes pártiak közül, hogy megfogják õt a beszédben. |
| 14 | And when they had come, they say to him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Cesar, or not? | Azok pedig odamenvén, mondának néki: Mester, tudjuk hogy igaz vagy és nem gondolsz senkivel; mert nem tekintesz emberek személyére, hanem igazság szerint tanítod az Istennek útját. Szabad-é a császárnak adót fizetni vagy nem? Fizessünk-é vagy ne fizessünk? |
| 15 | Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said to them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it. | Õ pedig ismervén az õ képmutatásukat, monda nékik: Mit kísértetek engem? Hozzatok nekem egy pénzt, hogy lássam. |
| 16 | And they brought it: and he saith to them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said to him, Cesar's. | Azok pedig hozának. És monda nékik: Kié ez a kép és a felírás? Azok pedig mondának néki: A Császáré. |
| 17 | And Jesus answering, said to them, Render to Cesar the things that are Cesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they wondered at him. | És felelvén Jézus, monda nékik: Adjátok meg a mi a Császáré, a Császárnak, és a mi az Istené, az Istennek. És elálmélkodának õ rajta. |
| 18 | Then come to him the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection; and they asked him, saying, | És jövének hozzá Sadduczeusok, a kik azt mondják, hogy nincsen feltámadás. És megkérdezék õt, mondván: |
| 19 | Master, Moses wrote to us, If a man's brother shall die, and leave his wife, and leave no children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise seed to his brother. | Mester, Mózes azt írta nékünk, hogy ha valakinek fitestvére meghalt, és feleséget hagyott hátra, gyermekeket pedig nem hagyott, akkor az õ feleségét vegye el az õ fitestvére, és támasszon magot a fitestvérének. |
| 20 | Now there were seven brothers: and the first took a wife, and dying left no seed. | Heten valának tehát fitestvérek. És az elsõ feleséget võn, de meghalván, magot nem hagya. |
| 21 | And the second took her, and died, neither left he any seed: and the third likewise. | És a második elvevé az asszonyt, de meghala, és magot õ sem hagya: a harmadik is hasonlóképen; |
| 22 | And the seven had her, and left no seed: last of all the woman died also. | És mind a hét elvevé azt, és magot nem hagyának. Legutoljára meghalt az asszony is. |
| 23 | In the resurrection therefore, when they shall rise, whose wife shall she be of them? for the seven had her for a wife. | A feltámadáskor tehát, mikor feltámadnak, melyiköknek lesz a felesége? Mert mind a hétnek a felesége volt. |
| 24 | And Jesus answering, said to them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God? | Jézus pedig felelvén, monda nékik: Avagy nem azért tévelyegtek-é, mert nem ismeritek az írásokat, sem az Istennek hatalmát? |
| 25 | For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels who are in heaven. | Mert mikor a halálból feltámadnak, sem nem házasodnak, sem férjhez nem mennek, hanem olyanok lesznek, mint az angyalok a mennyekben. |
| 26 | And concerning the dead that they rise; have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spoke to him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? | A halottakról pedig, hogy feltámadnak, nem olvastátok-é a Mózes könyvében, a csipkebokornál, hogy mi módon szólott néki az Isten, mondván: Én vagyok Ábrahám Istene, és Izsák Istene, és Jákób Istene. |
| 27 | He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err. | Az Isten nem holtaknak, hanem élõknek Istene. Ti tehát igen tévelyegtek. |
| 28 | And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all? | Akkor hozzá menvén egy az írástudók közül, a ki az õ vetekedésöket hallotta vala, és tudván, hogy jól megfelele nékik, megkérdezé tõle: Melyik az elsõ minden parancsolatok között? |
| 29 | And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord. | Jézus pedig felele néki: Minden parancsolatok között az elsõ: Halljad Izráel: Az Úr, a mi Istenünk egy Úr. |
| 30 | And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. | Szeressed azért az Urat, a te Istenedet teljes szívedbõl, teljes lelkedbõl, és teljes elmédbõl és teljes erõdbõl. Ez az elsõ parancsolat. |
| 31 | And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself: there is no other commandment greater than these. | A második pedig hasonlatos ehhez: Szeresd felebarátodat, mint magadat. Nincs más ezeknél nagyobb parancsolat. |
| 32 | And the scribe said to him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is no other but he. | Akkor monda néki az írástudó: Jól van, Mester, igazán mondád, hogy egy Isten van, és nincsen kívüle más. |
| 33 | And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbor as himself, is more than all whole burnt-offerings and sacrifices. | És szeretni õt teljes szívbõl, teljes elmébõl, teljes lélekbõl és teljes erõbõl, és szeretni embernek felebarátját, mint önmagát, többet ér minden égõáldozatnál és véres áldozatnál. |
| 34 | And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said to him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question. | Jézus pedig látván, hogy bölcsen felelt vala, monda néki: Nem messze vagy az Isten országától. És többé senki sem meri vala õt megkérdezni. |
| 35 | And Jesus answered and said, while he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that Christ is the son of David? | És felele Jézus és monda, a mint a templomban tanít vala: Mi módon mondják az írástudók, hogy a Krisztus Dávidnak Fia? |
| 36 | For David himself said by the Holy Spirit, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thy enemies thy footstool. | Hiszen Dávid maga mondotta a Szent Lélek által: Monda az Úr az én uramnak: ülj az én jobb kezem felõl, míglen vetem a te ellenségeidet lábaid alá zsámolyul. |
| 37 | David therefore himself calleth him Lord, and whence is he then his son? and the common people heard him gladly. | Tehát maga Dávid nevezi õt Urának, mimódon fia hát néki? És a nagy sokaság örömest hallgatja vala õt. |
| 38 | And he said to them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, who love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the market-places, | Õ pedig monda nékik az õ tanításában: Õrizkedjetek az írástudóktól, a kik örömest járnak hosszú köntösökben és szeretik a piaczokon való köszöntéseket. |
| 39 | And the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost rooms at feasts: | És a gyülekezetekben az elõlüléseket, és a lakomákon a fõhelyeket: |
| 40 | Who devour widows' houses, and for a pretense make long prayers: these shall receive greater damnation. | A kik az özvegyeknek házát fölemésztik és színbõl hosszan imádkoznak: ezek súlyosabb ítélet alá esnek. |
| 41 | And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much. | És leülvén Jézus a templomperselynek átellenében, nézi vala, hogy a sokaság miként vet pénzt a perselybe. Sok gazdag pedig sokat vet vala abba. |
| 42 | And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing. | És egy szegény özvegy asszony is odajövén, két fillért, azaz egy negyed pénzt vete bele. |
| 43 | And he called his disciples, and saith to them, Verily I say to you, that this poor widow hath cast in more, than all they who have cast into the treasury. | Akkor elõszólítván tanítványait, monda nékik: Bizony mondom néktek, hogy ez a szegény özvegy asszony többet vetett, hogynem mind a többi, a kik a perselybe vetettek vala. |
| 44 | For all they cast in of their abundance: but she of her want cast in all that she had, even all her living. | Mert azok mindnyájan az õ fölöslegükbõl vetének; ez pedig az õ szegénységébõl, a mije csak volt, mind beveté, az õ egész vagyonát. |
