| 1 | And the LORD said to Moses, Speak to the priests, the sons of Aaron, and say to them, There shall none be defiled for the dead among his people: | Szóla ismét az Úr Mózesnek: Szólj a papoknak, Áron fiainak, és mondd meg nékik: [Senki közülök] meg ne fertõztesse magát halottal az õ népe között; |
| 2 | But for his kin, that is near to him, that is, for his mother, and for his father, and for his son, and for his daughter, and for his brother, | Hanem ha a hozzá legközelebb álló vérrokonával: anyjával, atyjával, fiával, leányával és fiútestvérével, |
| 3 | And for his sister a virgin, that is nigh to him, who hath had no husband: for her he may be defiled. | Vagy a hozzá legközelebb álló hajadon leánytestvérével, a ki még nem ment férjhez: ezt megérintheti. |
| 4 | But he shall not defile himself, being a chief man among his people, to profane himself. | Mint fõ-ember ne fertõztesse meg magát az õ népe között, hogy szentségtelenné ne legyen. |
| 5 | They shall not make baldness upon their head, neither shall they shave off the corner of their beard, nor make any cuttings in their flesh. | Ne nyírjanak kopaszságot a fejükön, szakálluk szélét le ne messék, és a testükbe vágásokat ne vágjanak. |
| 6 | They shall be holy to their God, and not profane the name of their God: for the offerings of the LORD made by fire, and the bread of their God they do offer: therefore they shall be holy. | Szentek legyenek Istenöknek, és az õ Istenöknek nevét meg ne szentségtelenítsék, mert az Úrnak tûzáldozatait, Istenöknek kenyerét õk áldozzák; azért szentek legyenek. |
| 7 | They shall not take a wife that is a lewd woman, or profane; neither shall they take a woman put away from her husband: for he is holy to his God. | Parázna és megszeplõsített asszonyt el ne vegyenek, se olyan asszonyt, a ki elûzetett az õ férjétõl, el ne vegyenek; mert a [pap] az õ Istenének van szentelve. |
| 8 | Thou shalt sanctify him therefore, for he offereth the bread of thy God: he shall be holy to thee: for I the LORD, who sanctify you, am holy. | Te is szentnek tartsad õt, mert Istenednek kenyerét õ áldozza: szent legyen azért elõtted, mert szent vagyok én, az Úr, a ti megszentelõtök. |
| 9 | And the daughter of any priest, if she shall profane herself by lewdness, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire. | Hogyha valamely papnak leánya vetemedik paráznaságra, megszentségteleníti az õ atyját, azért tûzzel égettessék meg. |
| 10 | And he that is the high priest among his brethren, upon whose head the anointing oil was poured, and that is consecrated to put on the garments, shall not uncover his head, nor rend his clothes; | A ki pedig fõpap az õ attyafiai között, a kinek fejére töltötték a kenetnek olaját, és a kit felavattak az õ szolgálatára, hogy a szent ruhákba felöltözzék: fejét meg ne meztelenítse, se ruháit meg ne szaggassa, |
| 11 | Neither shall he go in to any dead body, nor defile himself for his father, or for his mother; | És semmiféle holttesthez be ne menjen: atyjával és anyjával se fertõztesse meg magát. |
| 12 | Neither shall he go out of the sanctuary, nor profane the sanctuary of his God; for the crown of the anointing oil of his God is upon him: I am the LORD. | És a szenthelybõl ki ne menjen, hogy az õ Istenének szenthelyét meg ne szentségtelenítse, mert korona, az õ Istenének kenet-olaja van õ rajta. Én vagyok az Úr. |
| 13 | And he shall take a wife in her virginity. | Hajadont vegyen feleségül. |
| 14 | A widow, or a divorced woman, or profane, or a harlot, these shall he not take: but he shall take a virgin of his own people for a wife. | Özvegyet, elûzöttet, megszeplõsítettet, paráznát: ilyeneket el ne vegyen, hanem hajadont vegyen feleségül az õ népe közül, |
| 15 | Neither shall he profane his seed among his people: for I the LORD do sanctify him. | Hogy meg ne fertõztesse az õ magzatát az õ népe között; mert én, az Úr vagyok az õ megszentelõje. |
| 16 | And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, | Szóla ismét az Úr Mózesnek, mondván: |
| 17 | Speak to Aaron, saying, whoever he may be of thy seed in their generations that hath any blemish, let him not approach to offer the bread of his God: | Szólj Áronnak, mondván: Ha lesz valaki a te magod közül, az õ nemzetségökben, a kiben fogyatkozás leend, ne áldozza áldozatul az õ Istenének kenyerét. |
| 18 | For whatever man he may be that hath a blemish, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath a flat nose, or any thing superfluous, | Mert senki sem áldozhat, a kiben fogyatkozás van: vagy vak, vagy sánta vagy csonka orrú, vagy hosszú tagú. |
| 19 | Or a man that is broken-footed, or broken-handed, | Sem az, a ki törött lábú vagy törött kezû, |
| 20 | Or crooked-backed, or a dwarf, or that hath a blemish in his eye, or be scurvy, or scabbed, or hath his peculiar members broken: | Vagy púpos, vagy törpe, vagy szemfájós, vagy viszketeges, vagy sömörgös, vagy a ki megszakadott. |
| 21 | No man of the seed of Aaron the priest, that hath a blemish, shall come nigh to offer the offerings of the LORD made by fire; he hath a blemish, he shall not come nigh to offer the bread of his God. | Senki, a kiben fogyatkozás van, elõ ne álljon Áronnak, a papnak fiai közül, hogy tûzáldozatot vigyen fel az Úrnak; fogyatkozás van õ benne, ne álljon elõ, hogy megáldozza az õ Istenének kenyerét. |
| 22 | He shall eat the bread of his God, both of the most holy, and of the holy. | Az õ Istenének kenyerébõl, a legszentségesebbikbõl és a szentségesbõl ehetik. |
| 23 | Only he shall not go in to the vail, nor come nigh to the altar, because he hath a blemish; that he may not profane my sanctuaries: for I the LORD do sanctify them. | Csak a függönyhöz be ne menjen, és az oltárhoz ne közelítsen, mert fogyatkozás van õ benne, hogy meg ne fertõztesse az én szenthelyemet. Én vagyok az Úr, az õ megszentelõjök. |
| 24 | And Moses told it to Aaron, and to his sons, and to all the children of Israel. | És elmondá Mózes Áronnak, és az õ fiainak, és Izráelnek minden fiainak. |
