1 E falou Moisés aos cabeças das tribos dos filhos de Israel, dizendo: Esta é a palavra que o Senhor tem ordenado.2 Quando um homem fizer voto ao Senhor, ou fizer juramento, ligando a sua alma com obrigação, não violará a sua palavra: segundo tudo o que saiu da sua boca, fará.3 Também quando uma mulher, na sua mocidade, estando ainda na casa de seu pai, fizer voto ao Senhor, e com obrigação se ligar,4 E seu pai ouvir o seu voto e a sua obrigação, com que ligou a sua alma; e seu pai se calar para com ela, todos os seus votos serão válidos; e toda a obrigação com que ligou a sua alma, será válida.5 Mas se seu pai lhe tolher no dia que tal ouvir, todos os seus votos e as suas obrigações com que tiver ligado a sua alma, não serão válidos; mas o Senhor lhe perdoará, porquanto seu pai lhos tolheu.6 E se ela for casada, e for obrigada a alguns votos, ou à pronunciação dos seus lábios, com que tiver ligado a sua alma;7 E seu marido o ouvir, e se calar para com ela no dia em que o ouvir, os seus votos serão válidos; e as suas obrigações com que ligou a sua alma, serão válidas.8 Mas se seu marido lhe tolher no dia em que o ouvir, e anular o seu voto a que estava obrigada, como também a pronunciação dos seus lábios, com que ligou a sua alma; o Senhor lhe perdoará.9 No tocante ao voto da viúva, ou da repudiada, tudo com que ligar a sua alma, sobre ela será válido.10 Porém se fez voto na casa de seu marido, ou ligou a sua alma com obrigação de juramento;11 E seu marido o ouviu, e se calou para com ela, e não lho tolheu, todos os seus votos serão válidos, e toda a obrigação, com que ligou a sua alma, será válida.12 Porém se seu marido lhos anulou no dia em que os ouviu; tudo quanto saiu dos seus lábios, quer dos seus votos, quer da obrigação da sua alma, não será válido; seu marido lhos anulou, e o Senhor lhe perdoará.13 Todo o voto, e todo o juramento de obrigação, para humilhar a alma, seu marido o confirmará, ou anulará.14 Porém se seu marido, de dia em dia, se calar inteiramente para com ela, então confirma todos os seus votos e todas as suas obrigações, que estiverem sobre ela; confirmado lhos tem, porquanto se calou para com ela no dia em que o ouviu.15 Porém se de todo lhos anular depois que o ouviu, então ele levará a iniquidade dela.16 Estes são os estatutos que o Senhor ordenou a Moisés entre o marido e sua mulher; entre o pai e sua filha, na sua mocidade, em casa de seu pai.

1 (30:2) And Moses spoke unto the heads of the tribes of the children of Israel, saving, This is the thing which the Lord hath commanded,2 (30:3) If a man make a vow unto the Lord, or he swear an oath to bind his soul with an obligation: he shall not profane his word; according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth shall he do.3 (30:4) And if a woman make a vow unto the Lord, and bind herself by an obligation, being in her father’s house in her youth;4 (30:5) And her father hear her vow, and her obligation wherewith she hath bound her soul, and her father be silent to her: then shall all her vows stand, and every obligation wherewith she hath bound her soul shall stand.5 (30:6) But if her father disallow her on the day that he heareth it: all her vows or her obligations, wherewith she hath bound her soul, shall not stand; and the Lord will forgive her, because her father hath disallowed her.6 (30:7) And if she be given to a man, and have vows upon her, or what she may have uttered with her lips, wherewith she hath bound her soul;7 (30:8) And her husband hear it, and be silent to her on the day that he heareth it: then shall her vows stand, and her obligations wherewith she hath bound her soul, shall stand.8 (30:9) But if on the day of her husband’s hearing it, he disallow her: then doth he annul her vow which is upon her, and that which she hath uttered with her lips, wherewith she hath bound her soul; and the Lord will forgive her.9 (30:10) But regarding the vow of a widow, or of her that is divorced, all, wherewith she hath bound her soul, shall stand for her.10 (30:11) And if she had vowed in her husband’s house, or had bound her soul by an obligation with an oath;11 (30:12) And her husband heard it, and was silent to her, and disallowed her not: then all her vows shall stand, and every obligation, wherewith she hath bound her soul, shall stand.12 (30:13) But if her husband hath annulled them on the day he heard them: then whatsoever proceeded out of her lips, concerning her vows, or concerning the obligation of her soul, shall not stand; her husband hath annulled them; and the Lord will forgive her.13 (30:14) Every vow, and every binding oath to afflict the person, her husband may confirm it, or her husband may annul it.14 (30:15) But if her husband should be silent to her from day to day: then hath he confirmed all her vows, or all her obligations, which are upon her; he hath confirmed them, because he was silent to her on the day that he heard them.15 (30:16) But if he should annul them after the day that he hath heard them: then shall he bear her iniquity.16 (30:17) These are the statutes, which the Lord commanded Moses, between a man and his wife, between the father and his daughter, being yet in her youth, in her father’s house.
