Isaías 26

1 In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah: We have a strong city; salvation doth he appoint for walls and bulwarks. 2 Open ye the gates, and the righteous nation which keepeth faithfulness shall enter in. 3 Thou wilt keep in perfect peace the mind stayed on thee, for he confideth in thee. 4 Confide ye in Jehovah for ever; for in Jah, Jehovah, is the rock of ages.

5 For he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he layeth it low, he layeth it low to the ground, he bringeth it even to the dust. 6 The foot shall tread it down, — the feet of the afflicted, the steps of the poor. 7 The way of the just is uprightness: thou, the Upright, dost make the path of the just even. 8 Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O Jehovah, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to thy memorial. 9 With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness. 10 If favour be shewn to the wicked, he doth not learn righteousness: in the land of uprightness he dealeth unjustly, and beholdeth not the majesty of Jehovah. 11 Jehovah, thy hand is lifted up, but they do not see: yet they shall see thy jealousy for the people, and be ashamed; yea, the fire which is for thine adversaries shall devour them.

12 Jehovah, thou wilt ordain peace for us; for thou also hast wrought all our works for us. 13 Jehovah our God*GodHebrew: Elohim other lords than thee have had dominion over us; by thee only will we make mention of thy name. 14 They are dead, they shall not live; deceased, they shall not rise: for thou hast visited and destroyed them, and made all memory of them to perish. 15 Thou hast increased the nation, Jehovah, thou hast increased the nation: thou art glorified. Thou hadst removed it far unto all the ends of the earth. 16 Jehovah, in trouble they sought thee; they poured out their whispered prayer when thy chastening was upon them. 17 As a woman with child, that draweth near her delivery, is in travail, and crieth out in her pangs; so have we been before thee, Jehovah. 18 We have been with child, we have been in travail, we have as it were brought forth wind; we have not wrought the deliverance of the land, neither have the inhabitants of the world fallen. 19 Thy dead shall live, my dead bodies shall arise. Awake and sing in triumph, ye that dwell in dust; for thy dew is the dew of the morning, and the earth shall cast forth the dead.

20 Come, my people, enter into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee; hide thyself just for a little moment, until the indignation be past. 21 For behold, Jehovah cometh out of his place to visit the iniquity of the inhabitants of the earth upon them; and the earth shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.

2 Abrid las puertas, ✝26.2 Sal. 118.19,20.y entrará la gente justa, guardadora de verdades.

3 Tú le guardarás en completa paz, cuyo pensamiento en ti persevera; porque en ti se ha confiado.

4 Confiad en Jehová ✝26.4 cp. 45.17.perpetuamente: porque en el Señor Jehová está la fortaleza de los siglos.

5 Porque derribó los que moraban en lugar sublime: ✝26.5 cp. 25.12.humilló la ciudad ensalzada, humillóla hasta la tierra, derribóla hasta el polvo.

6 Hollarála pie, los pies del afligido, los pasos de los menesterosos.

7 El camino del justo es rectitud: ✝26.7 Sal. 58.2.Tú, Recto, pesas el camino del justo.

8 También ✝26.8 cp. 64.5.en el camino de tus juicios, oh Jehová, te hemos esperado: ✝26.8 Neh. 1.11.a tu nombre y á tu memoria es el deseo del alma.

9 Con mi alma ✝26.9 Sal. 77.2. Cnt. 3.1.te he deseado en la noche; y en tanto que me durare el espíritu en medio de mí, madrugaré á buscarte: porque luego que hay juicios tuyos en la tierra, los moradores del mundo aprenden justicia.

10 Alcanzará piedad el impío, ✝26.10 Ec. 8.12.y no aprenderá justicia; ✝26.10 Sal. 143.10.en tierra de rectitud hará iniquidad, y no mirará á la majestad de Jehová.

11 Jehová, bien que se levante tu mano, no ven: verán al cabo, y se avergonzarán los que envidian á tu pueblo; y á tus enemigos fuego los consumirá.

12 Jehová, tú nos depararás paz; porque también ✝26.12 1 Co. 15.10.obraste en nosotros todas nuestras obras.

13 Jehová Dios nuestro, ✝26.13 2 Cr. 12.8.señores se han enseñoreado de nosotros fuera de ti; mas ✝26.13 2 R. 18.4-6.en ti solamente nos acordaremos de tu nombre.

14 Muertos son, no vivirán: han fallecido, no resucitarán: porque los visitaste, y destruiste, ✝26.14 Ec. 9.5.y deshiciste toda su memoria.

15 ✝ 26.15 cp. 9.3. Añadiste al pueblo, oh Jehová, añadiste al pueblo: hicístete glorioso: extendíste lo hasta todos los términos de la tierra.

16 Jehová, ✝26.16 Os. 5.15.en la tribulación te buscaron: derramaron oración cuando los castigaste.

17 Como ✝26.17 cp. 13.8.la preñada cuando se acerca el parto gime, y da gritos con sus dolores, así hemos sido delante de ti, oh Jehová.

18 Concebimos, tuvimos dolores de parto, parimos como viento: salud ninguna hicimos en la tierra, ni cayeron ✝26.18 Sal. 17.14.los moradores del mundo.

19 Tus muertos vivirán; junto con mi cuerpo muerto resucitarán. ✝26.19 Dn. 12.2. Ef. 5.14.¡Despertad y cantad, moradores del polvo! porque tu rocío, cual rocío de hortalizas; y la tierra echará los muertos.

20 Anda, pueblo mío, ✝26.20 Mt. 6.6.éntrate en tus aposentos, cierra tras ti tus puertas; escóndete un poquito, por un momento, en tanto que pasa la ira.

21 Porque he aquí que Jehová sale ✝26.21 Mi. 1.3. Jud. 14.de su lugar, para visitar la maldad del morador de la tierra contra él; y la tierra descubrirá sus sangres, y no más encubrirá sus muertos.
