1 For behold, the day cometh, burning as a furnace; and all the proud and all that work wickedness shall be stubble; and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith Jehovah of hosts, so that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. 2 And unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth and leap like fatted calves. 3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I prepare, saith Jehovah of hosts.

4 Remember the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, the statutes and ordinances. 5 Behold, I send unto you Elijah the prophet, before the coming of the great and terrible day of Jehovah. 6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

Toți cei trufași*Cap. 3:18. și toți cei răi vor fi ca miriștea*Obad. 18.; ziua care vine îi va arde", zice Domnul oștirilor, „și nu le va lăsa*Amos 2:9. nici rădăcină, nici ramură. 2 Dar pentru voi, care vă temeți*Cap. 3:16. de Numele Meu, va răsări Soarele neprihănirii*Luca 1:78.Efes. 5:14.2 Pet. 1:19.Apoc. 2:28. și tămăduirea va fi sub aripile Lui; veți ieși*2 Sam. 22:43.Mica 7:10.Zah. 10:5. și veți sări ca vițeii din grajd. 3 Și veți călca în picioare pe cei răi, căci ei vor fi ca cenușa sub talpa picioarelor voastre în ziua pe care o pregătesc Eu", zice Domnul oștirilor. 4 „Aduceți-vă aminte de Legea lui Moise*Exod 20:3., robul Meu, căruia i-am dat în Horeb*Deut. 4:10. rânduieli*Ps. 147:19. și porunci pentru tot Israelul! 5 Iată, vă voi trimite pe prorocul Ilie*Mat. 11:14;17:11.Marcu 9:11.Luca 1:17. înainte*Ioel 2:31. de a veni ziua Domnului, ziua aceea mare și înfricoșată. 6 El va întoarce inima părinților spre copii și inima copiilor spre părinții lor, ca nu cumva, la venirea Mea, să lovesc*Zah. 14:12. țara cu blestem*Zah. 3:5.!"
