1 O Lord, thou art my God: I will exalt thee, I will prayse thy Name: for thou hast done wonderfull things, according to the counsels of old, with a stable trueth. 2 For thou hast made of a citie an heape, of a strong citie, a ruine: euen the palace of strangers of a citie, it shall neuer be built. 3 Therefore shall the mightie people giue glory vnto thee: the citie of the strong nations shall feare thee. 4 For thou hast bene a strength vnto the poore, euen a strength to the needie in his trouble, a refuge against the tempest, a shadow against the heate: for the blaste of the mightie is like a storme against the wall. 5 Thou shalt bring downe the noyse of the strangers, as the heate in a drie place: he wil bring downe the song of the mightie, as the heate in the shadowe of a cloude. 6 And in this mountaine shall the Lord of hostes make vnto all people a feast of fat thinges, euen a feast of fined wines, and of fat thinges full of marow, of wines fined and purified. 7 And he will destroy in this mountaine the couering that couereth all people, and the vaile that is spread vpon all nations. 8 He wil destroy death for euer: and the Lord God wil wipe away the teares from all faces, and the rebuke of his people will he take away out of all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it. 9 And in that day shall men say, Loe, this is our God: we haue waited for him, and he wil saue vs. This is the Lord, we haue waited for him: we will reioyce and be ioyfull in his saluation. 10 For in this mountaine shall the hand of the Lord rest, and Moab shalbe threshed vnder him, euen as strawe is thresshed in Madmenah. 11 And he shall stretche out his hande in the middes of them (as he that swimmeth, stretcheth them out to swimme) and with the strength of his handes shall he bring downe their pride. 12 The defence also of the height of thy walles shall he bring downe and lay lowe, and cast them to the ground, euen vnto the dust.

1 Jeová, tu és o meu Deus; exaltar-te-ei e louvarei o teu nome; porque em fidelidade e verdade tens feito maravilhas, isto é, os teus antigos conselhos.

2 Pois da cidade fizeste um montão de pedras; da cidade fortificada uma ruína; do paço dos estranhos, que não seja mais cidade, e que jamais seja reedificada.

3 Por isso te glorificarão povos ferozes, e te temerão cidades de nações formidáveis.

4 Porque te hás tornado fortaleza para o pobre, fortaleza para o necessitado na sua angústia, refúgio contra a tempestade, sombra contra o calor, quando o assopro dos violentos é como uma tempestade contra um muro.

5 Como o calor em terra sedenta abaterás o tumulto de estrangeiros; como o calor proveniente da sombra de nuvens, o cântico dos violentos será humilhado.

6 Jeová do exércitos fará neste monte para todos os povos um banquete de coisas gordurosas, banquete de vinhos com fezes, de coisas gordurosas e ricas em tutano, de vinhos com fezes, depois de bem coados.

7 Aniquilará neste monte a coberta que cobre todos os povos, e o véu que está posto sobre todas as nações.

8 Aniquilará a morte para sempre; enxugará Deus as lágrimas de todos os rostos; e tirará de cima da terra todo o opróbrio do seu povo. Pois Jeová o disse.

9 Dir-se-á naquele dia: Eis que este é o nosso Deus; por ele temos esperado, e ele nos salvará. Este é Jeová, por ele temos esperado, exultaremos e nos regozijaremos na salvação que ele der.

10 Pois neste monte repousará a mão de Jeová, e Moabe será trilhado no seu lugar, assim como se trilha a palha na água do monturo.

11 Estenderá as suas mãos no meio deles, assim como as estende o nadador para nadar, e abater-lhe-á sua altivez juntamente com as ciladas das suas mãos.

12 As fortificações das tuas altas muralhas, ele as demolirá, abaterá, e fará dar em terra, reduzindo-as a pó.
