1 I have bene sought of them that asked not: I was found of them that sought me not: I sayd, Beholde me, beholde me, vnto a nation that called not vpon my Name. 2 I haue spred out mine handes all the day vnto a rebellious people, which walked in a way that was not good, euen after their owne imaginations: 3 A people that prouoked me euer vnto my face: that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense vpon brickes. 4 Which remaine among the graues, and lodge in the desarts, which eate swines flesh, and the broth of things polluted are in their vessels. 5 Which say, Stand apart, come not neere to me: for I am holier then thou: these are a smoke in my wrath and a fire that burneth all the day. 6 Beholde, it is written before me: I wil not keepe silence, but will render it and recompense it into their bosome. 7 Your iniquities and the iniquities of your fathers shalbe together (sayth the Lord) which haue burnt incense vpon the mountaines, and blasphemed me vpon the hilles: therefore wil I measure their olde worke into their bosome. 8 Thus sayth the Lord, As the wine is found in the cluster, and one sayth, Destroy it not, for a blessing is in it, so will I doe for my seruants sakes, that I may not destroy them whole. 9 But I will bring a seede out of Iaakob, and out of Iudah, that shall inherit my mountaine: and mine elect shall inherit it, and my seruants shall dwell there. 10 And Sharon shalbe a sheepefolde, and the valley of Achor shalbe a resting place for the cattell of my people, that haue sought me. 11 But ye are they that haue forsaken the Lord and forgotten mine holy Mountaine, and haue prepared a table for the multitude, and furnish the drinke offerings vnto the number. 12 Therefore wil I number you to the sword, and all you shall bowe downe to the slaughter, because I called, and ye did not answere: I spake, and ye heard not, but did euil in my sight, and did chuse that thing which I would not. 13 Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Beholde, my seruants shall eate, and ye shalbe hungrie: beholde, my seruants shall drinke, and ye shall be thirstie: beholde, my seruants shall reioyce, and ye shalbe ashamed. 14 Beholde, my seruants shall sing for ioye of heart, and ye shall crye for sorow of heart, and shall howle for vexation of minde. 15 And ye shall leaue your name as a curse vnto my chosen: for the Lord God shall slay you and call his seruants by another name. 16 He that shall blesse in the earth, shall blesse himselfe in the true God, and he that sweareth in the earth, shall sweare by the true God: for the former troubles are forgotten, and shall surely hide themselues from mine eyes. 17 For lo, I will create newe heauens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembred nor come into minde. 18 But be you glad and reioyce for euer in the things that I shall create: for beholde, I will create Ierusalem, as a reioycing and her people as a ioye, 19 And I wil reioyce in Ierusalem, and ioye in my people, and the voyce of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voyce of crying. 20 There shall be no more there a childe of yeeres, nor an olde man that hath not filled his dayes: for he that shall be an hundreth yeeres old, shall dye as a yong man: but the sinner being an hundreth yeeres olde shall be accursed. 21 And they shall build houses and inhabite them, and they shall plant vineyards, and eate the fruite of them. 22 They shall not build, and another inhabite: they shall not plant, and another eate: for as the dayes of the tree are the dayes of my people, and mine elect shall inioye in olde age the worke of their handes. 23 They shall not labour in vaine, nor bring forth in feare: for they are the seede of the blessed of the Lord, and their buds with them. 24 Yea, before they call, I will answere, and whiles they speake, I will heare. 25 The wolfe and the lambe shall feede together, and the lyon shall eate strawe like the bullocke: and to the serpent dust shall be his meate. They shall no more hurt nor destroy in all mine holy Mountaine, saith the Lord.

1 Fui consultado dos que não perguntavam por mim; fui achado dos que me não buscavam. Eu disse a uma nação que não se chamava do meu nome: Eis-me aqui, eis-me aqui.

2 Estendi as minhas mãos o dia todo a um povo rebelde, que anda por um caminho que não é bom, após os seus pensamentos;

3 ao povo que de contínuo me provoca diante da minha face, sacrificando nos jardins e queimando incenso sobre os tijolos;

4 que se assenta nos sepulcros e passa a noite em lugares secretos, que come carne de porco, e em cujos vasos acha-se caldo de coisas abomináveis;

5 que diz: Fica-te lá, não te chegues a mim, porque sou mais santo do que tu. Estes são um fumo no meu nariz, um fogo que arde o dia todo.

6 Eis que isso está escrito diante de mim; não me calarei, mas retribuirei (sim retribuirei no seio deles),

7 as vossas iniqüidades, e juntamente as iniqüidades de vossos pais, diz Jeová, os quais queimaram incenso sobre os montes, e me blasfemaram sobre os outeiros: portanto primeiro lhes medirei a recompensa no seu seio.

8 Assim diz Jeová: Como quando se acha o mosto num cacho de uvas, e se diz: Não o desperdices, porque nele há uma bênção; assim farei por amor do meu servo, de sorte que eu não os destrua a todos.

9 Farei sair de Jacó uma semente, e de Judá um herdeiro dos meus montes; os meus escolhidos herdarão a terra, e os meus servos nela habitarão.

10 Sarom servirá de curral de rebanhos, e o vale de Acor de um lugar onde se deitam os gados, para os do meu povo que me buscaram.

11 Mas quanto a vós que deixais a Jeová, que vos esqueceis do meu santo monte, que preparais uma mesa para a Fortuna, e que misturais bebidas para o Destino;

12 destinar-vos-ei à espada, e todos vós vos prostrareis diante da matança; porque quando chamei, não respondestes; quando falei, não ouvistes, mas fizestes o que era mau aos meus olhos, e escolheste aquilo em que eu não tinha prazer.

13 Portanto assim diz o Senhor Jeová: Eis que os meus servos comerão, mas vós tereis fome; os meus servos beberão, mas vós tereis sede; os meus servos se regozijarão, mas vós sereis envergonhados;

14 os meus servos exultarão pela alegria de coração, mas vós chorareis pela tristeza de coração, e uivareis pela vexação de espírito.

15 Deixareis o vosso nome para maldição aos meus escolhidos, e o Senhor Jeová te matará; aos seus servos chamarás por outro nome;

16 de modo que o que se abençoar sobre a terra, se abençoará no Deus de verdade; e o que jurar sobre a terra, jurará pelo Deus de verdade; porque já estão esquecidas as angústias passadas, e porque estão escondidas dos meus olhos.

17 Pois eis que crio uns céus novos e uma terra nova; e não persistirão na memória as coisas passadas, nem serão elas lembradas.

18 Mas alegrai-vos e regozijai-vos para sempre no que eu crio, porque crio a Jerusalém para exultação e ao seu povo para gozo.

19 Exultarei em Jerusalém, e folgarei no meu povo; não se ouvirá mais nela voz de choro nem voz de lamento.

20 Não haverá mais ali criança de dias, nem velho que não tenha enchido os seus dias; porque o menino morrerá de cem anos, e o pecador de cem anos será amaldiçoado.

21 Eles edificarão casas e nelas habitarão; plantarão vinhas, e comerão o fruto delas.

22 Não edificarão para que outrem habite; não plantarão para que outrem coma. Pois como os dias da árvore são os dias do meu povo, e os meus escolhidos gozarão por longo tempo das obras das suas mãos.

23 Não trabalharão debalde, nem gerarão filhos para calamidade; porque são a semente dos benditos de Jeová, juntamente com os seus descendentes.

24 Acontecerá que, antes de clamarem eles, eu responderei; e estando eles ainda falando, eu os ouvirei.

25 O lobo e o cordeiro se apascentarão juntos, e o leão comerá palha como o boi; o pó será a comida da serpente. Eles não farão o mal, nem destruirão em todo o meu santo monte, diz Jeová.
