1 E BILDAD Suhita rispose, e disse:

2 La signoria, e lo spavento, è con lui; Egli fa in pace ciò che gli piace ne’ suoi cieli altissimi.

3 Le sue schiere si posson esse annoverare? E sopra cui non si leva la sua luce?

4 Ma come sarà giusto l’uomo appo Iddio? E come sarà puro colui ch’è nato di donna?

5 Ecco, fino alla luna non sarà pura, e non risplenderà; E le stelle non saranno pure nel suo cospetto.

6 Quanto meno l’uomo, che è un verme, E il figliuol dell’uomo, che è un vermicello?

1 And Bildad the Shuhite answered and said,

2 Dominion and fear are with him; he maketh peace in his high places.

3 Is there any number of his troops? and upon whom doth not his light arise?

4 And how should man be just with *God? Or how should he be clean that is born of a woman?

5 Lo, even the moon is not bright; and the stars are not pure in his sight:

6 How much less man, a worm, and the son of man, a worm!
