1 ဣသရေလသည် အသက်ငယ်သောအခါ ငါသည် ချစ်၍ ငါ့သားကို အဲဂုတ္တုပြည်မှ ခေါ်ခဲ့ပြီ။ထွ၊ ၄:၂၂။ မ၊ ၂:၁၅။2 သူတို့ကို ခေါ်သောသူတို့ထံမှ ထွက်သွားကြ၏။ ဗာလဘုရားတို့အား ယဇ်ပူဇော်၍ ရုပ်တုဆင်းတုတို့အား နံ့သာပေါင်းကို မီးရှို့ကြ၏။ 3 ငါသည် သွားတတ်သောအတတ်ကို ဧဖရိမ်အား လက်ဆွဲ၍ သွန်သင်၏။ သို့သော်လည်း၊ ငါစောင့်မခြင်းကျေးဇူးကို သူသည် မသိဘဲနေ၏။ 4 လူကို ဆွဲတတ်သော ကြိုးတည်းဟူသော မေတ္တာကြိုးနှင့် ငါဆွဲငင်၏။ ပါးရိုးအနားသို့ ထမ်းပိုးကိုရွှေ့၍ ဖြည်းညင်းစွာ ကျွေး၏။ 5 အထံတော်သို့ မပြန်မလာဟု သူသည် ငြင်းသောကြောင့်၊ အဲဂုတ္တုပြည်သို့ ပြန်၍မသွားရ။ အာရှုရိမင်းသည် သူတို့ကို အုပ်စိုးရလိမ့်မည်။ 6 ဓားဘေးသည် သူ့နေရာမြို့တို့အပေါ်သို့ ရောက်၍ မင်းတို့ကို ဖျက်ဆီးလိမ့်မည်။ သူတို့ ကြံစည်ခြင်းအားဖြင့်ပင် သုတ်သင်ပယ်ရှင်းလိမ့်မည်။ 7 ငါ၏လူတို့သည် ငါ့ထံမှလွှဲမြဲလွှဲကြ၏။ အမြင့်ဆုံးသော ဘုရားထံသို့ ခေါ်သော်လည်း၊ ထိုဘုရားကို အဘယ်သူမျှ မချီးမြှောက်လို။
8 အို ဧဖရိမ်၊ ငါသည် သင့်ကို အဘယ်သို့ စွန့်နိုင်မည်နည်း။ အို ဣသရေလ၊ သင့်ကို အဘယ်သို့ အပ်နှံနိုင်မည်နည်း။ သင့်ကို အာဒမာမြို့ကဲ့သို့ အဘယ်သို့ဖြစ်စေနိုင်မည်နည်း။ ဇေဘိုင်မြို့အရာ၌ အဘယ်သို့ ခန့်ထားနိုင်မည်နည်း။ ငါသည် နှလုံးပြောင်းလဲ၍ အလွန် ကြင်နာသောစိတ်ရှိ၏။တရား၊ ၂၉:၂၃။9 ပြင်းစွာ အမျက်ထွက်သည်အတိုင်း မပြုလို။ ဧဖရိမ်ကို အထပ်ထပ် မဖျက်ဆီးလို။ ငါသည် လူမဟုတ်၊ ဘုရားသခင်ဖြစ်၏။ မြို့ထဲမှာနေသော မြို့သားမဟုတ်သော်လည်း၊ သင်တို့တွင်နေ၍ သန့်ရှင်းသောဘုရား ဖြစ်၏။ 10 သူတို့သည် ထာဝရဘုရား၏နောက်တော်သို့ လိုက်ကြလိမ့်မည်။ ခြင်္သေ့ကဲ့သို့ ဟောက်တော်မူမည်။ ဟောက်တော်မူသောအခါ သားသမီးတို့သည် အနောက်မျက်နှာမှ အလျင်အမြန် ပြေးကြလိမ့်မည်။ 11 စာငှက်ကဲ့သို့ အဲဂုတ္တုပြည်မှလည်းကောင်း၊ ချိုးကဲ့သို့ အာရှုရိပြည်မှလည်းကောင်း အလျင်အမြန် ပြေးကြ၍၊ သူတို့ကို နေရင်းအရပ်၌ ငါနေရာချမည်ဟု ထာဝရဘုရား မိန့်တော်မူ၏။
12 ဧဖရိမ်သည် မုသားစကားနှင့်လည်းကောင်း၊ ဣသရေလသည် လှည့်စားခြင်းနှင့်လည်းကောင်း ငါ့ကိုနှောင့်ယှက်တတ်၏။ ယုဒသည်လည်း ဘုရားသခင့်ထံ၊ သန့်ရှင်း၍ သစ္စာစောင့်တော်မူသော ဘုရားသခင့်ထံမှလွှဲ၍ လှည့်လည်တတ်၏။
1 When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and out of Egypt I called my son. 2 As they called them, so they went from them: they sacrificed unto the Baals, and burned incense to graven images. 3 And I it was that taught Ephraim to walk, — He took them upon his arms, — but they knew not that I healed them. 4 I drew them with bands of a man, with cords of love; and I was to them as they that take off the yoke on their jaws, and I gently caused them to eat. 5 He shall not return into the land of Egypt, but the Assyrian shall be his king; for they refused to return to me; 6 and the sword shall turn about in his cities, and shall consume his bars, and devour them, because of their own counsels. 7 Yea, my people are bent upon backsliding from me: though they call them to the Most High, none at all exalteth him.
8 How shall I give thee over, Ephraim? how shall I deliver thee up, Israel? how shall I make thee as Admah? how shall I set thee as Zeboim? My heart is turned within me, my repentings are kindled together. 9 I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not again destroy Ephraim; for I am ·GodGodHebrew: El and not man, — the Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not come in anger. 10 They shall walk after Jehovah; he shall roar like a lion; when he shall roar, then the children shall hasten from the west: 11 they shall hasten as a bird out of Egypt, and as a dove out of the land of Assyria; and I will cause them to dwell in their houses, saith Jehovah. 12 Ephraim encompasseth me about with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit; but Judah yet walketh with ·GodGodHebrew: El and with the holy things of truth.
