1 ဧဖရိမ်သည် လေကို ကျက်စားတတ်၏။ အရှေ့လေကို လိုက်တတ်၏။ နေ့တိုင်း မုသားစကားနှင့် ပျက်စီးခြင်းအကြောင်းတို့ကို များပြားစေတတ်၏။ အာရှုရိလူတို့နှင့် မိတ်သဟာယဖွဲ့လျက်နှင့်ပင်၊ အဲဂုတ္တုပြည်သို့ ဆီကို ယူသွားတတ်၏။ 2 ထာဝရဘုရားသည် ယုဒအမျိုးနှင့်လည်း တရားတွေ့မှု ရှိတော်မူ၏။ ယာကုပ်၏အကျင့်တို့ကို စစ်ကြော၍ သူပြုမူသည်နှင့်အညီ အပြစ်ပေးတော်မူမည်။ 3 ယာကုပ်သည် အမိဝမ်း၌ အစ်ကို၏ဖနှောင့်ကို ကိုင်၏။ ခွန်အားကြီး၍ ဘုရားသခင်နှင့် ပြိုင်လေ၏။က၊ ၂၅:၂၆။4 ကောင်းကင်တမန်နှင့် ပြိုင်၍ နိုင်လေ၏။ ငို၍ တောင်းပန်နှင့်ပြီ။ ကောင်းကင်ဗိုလ်ခြေအရှင် ဘုရားသခင် ထာဝရဘုရားကို ဗေသလမြို့မှာဖူးတွေ့၍၊ ငါတို့အဖို့ ဗျာဒိတ်တော်ကို ခံလေ၏။က၊ ၃၂:၂၄-၂၆။က၊ ၂၈:၁၀-၂၂။5 ထာဝရဘုရားတည်းဟူသောနာမသည် ထိုဘုရားသခင်၏ ဘွဲ့နာမတော်ဖြစ်၏။ 6 သို့ဖြစ်၍၊ သင်၏ဘုရားသခင့် ထံတော်သို့ ပြန်လာလော့။ ကရုဏာတရား၊ ဖြောင့်မတ်ခြင်းတရားကိုစောင့်ရှောက်၍၊ သင်၏ဘုရားသခင်ကို အစဉ်မပြတ်မျှော်လင့်လော့။
7 သူသည် ကုန်သည်ဖြစ်၏။ စဉ်းလဲသော ချိန်ခွင်ကို ကိုင်တတ်၏။ သူတစ်ပါးကို ညှဉ်းဆဲခြင်းငှာ အလိုရှိ၏။ 8 သို့ရာတွင်၊ ဧဖရိမ်က၊ ငါသည် ရတတ်၏။ ဘဏ္ဍာကို သိုထားပြီ။ ကြိုးစားသမျှတို့၌ အပြစ်ပါသော လွန်ကျူးခြင်းကို ရှာ၍မတွေ့ရာဟု ဆိုလိမ့်မည်။ 9 ငါထာဝရဘုရားသည် သင့်ကို အဲဂုတ္တုပြည်မှ ကယ်နုတ်သော သင်၏ဘုရားသခင် ဖြစ်၏။ ဓမ္မပွဲခံစဉ်တွင် နေတတ်သကဲ့သို့ တစ်ဖန် တဲတို့၌ နေစေမည်။ဝတ်၊ ၂၃:၄၂-၄၃။10 ငါသည် ပရောဖက်တို့၌ ဗျာဒိတ်ပေးပြီ။ များစွာသော ရူပါရုံတို့ကို ပြပြီ။ ပရောဖက်များအားဖြင့် ပုံပမာတို့ကို ထားပြီ။ 11 ဂိလဒ်ပြည်၌ အပြစ်ရှိ၏။ ပြည်သူပြည်သားတို့သည် အကျိုးနည်း ရှိကြပြီ။ ဂိလဂါလမြို့၌ နွားတို့ကို ယဇ်ပူဇော်၍၊ ယဇ်ပလ္လင်တို့သည် ထွန်ကြောင်းတွင် မြေအပုံပုံ ရှိသကဲ့သို့ များကြ၏။ 12 ယာကုပ်သည် ရှုရိပြည်သို့ ပြေး၏။ ဣသရေလသည် မယားကိုရခြင်းငှာ အစေကျွန်ခံ၍ သိုးစုကို ထိန်းရလေ၏။က၊ ၂၉:၁-၂၀။13 ထာဝရဘုရားသည် ပရောဖက်အားဖြင့် ဣသရေလအမျိုးကို အဲဂုတ္တုပြည်မှကယ်နုတ်၍၊ ပရောဖက်အားဖြင့်လည်း စောင့်မတော်မူ၏။ထွ၊ ၁၂:၅၀-၅၁14 ဧဖရိမ်သည် အမျက်တော်ကို အလွန်နှိုးဆော်လေပြီ။ ထိုကြောင့်၊ လူအသက်ကို သတ်သောအပြစ်သည် သူ၌ ရောက်လိမ့်မည်။ သူကဲ့ရဲ့ခြင်းအပြစ်ကို သူ၏သခင်သည် ပြန်ပေးလိမ့်မည်။
1 Ephraim feedeth on wind, and pursueth after the east wind: all day long he multiplieth lies and desolation; and they make a covenant with Assyria, and oil is carried into Egypt. 2 Jehovah hath also a controversy with Judah, and he will punish Jacob according to his ways; according to his doings will he recompense him. 3 He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and in his strength he wrestled with GodGodHebrew: Elohim4 Yea, he wrestled with the Angel, and prevailed; he wept, and made supplication unto him: he found him in Bethel, and there he spoke with us, 5 — even Jehovah, the GodGodHebrew: Elohim of hosts, — Jehovah is his memorial. 6 And thou, return unto thy GodGodHebrew: Elohim keep loving-kindness and judgment, and wait on thy GodGodHebrew: Elohim continually.
7 He is a merchant, balances of deceit are in his hand; he loveth to oppress. 8 And Ephraim saith, Nevertheless I am become rich, I have found me out substance; in all my labours they shall find none iniquity in me that were sin. 9 But I that am Jehovah thy GodGodHebrew: Elohim from the land of Egypt will again make thee to dwell in tents, as in the days of the solemn feast. 10 And I have spoken to the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and by means of the prophets have I used similitudes. 11 If Gilead is iniquity, surely they are but vanity: they sacrifice bullocks in Gilgal; yea, their altars are as heaps in the furrows of the fields. 12 And Jacob fled into the country of Syria, and Israel served for a wife, and for a wife he kept sheep. 13 And by a prophet Jehovah brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved. 14 Ephraim provoked him to anger most bitterly; and his Lord shall leave his blood upon him, and recompense unto him his reproach.
