Jó 27

1 Moreover Job continued his parable, and said,*27.1 continued: Heb. added to take up 2 As God liveth, who hath taken away my judgment; and the Almighty, who hath vexed my soul;*27.2 vexed…: Heb. made my soul bitter 3 All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils;*27.3 the spirit…: that is, the breath which God gave him 4 My lips shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit. 5 God forbid that I should justify you: till I die I will not remove mine integrity from me. 6 My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go: my heart shall not reproach me so long as I live.*27.6 so long…: Heb. from my days

7 Let mine enemy be as the wicked, and he that riseth up against me as the unrighteous. 8 For what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh away his soul? 9 Will God hear his cry when trouble cometh upon him? 10 Will he delight himself in the Almighty? will he always call upon God?

11 I will teach you by the hand of God: that which is with the Almighty will I not conceal.*27.11 by…: or, being in the hand, etc 12 Behold, all ye yourselves have seen it; why then are ye thus altogether vain? 13 This is the portion of a wicked man with God, and the heritage of oppressors, which they shall receive of the Almighty. 14 If his children be multiplied, it is for the sword: and his offspring shall not be satisfied with bread. 15 Those that remain of him shall be buried in death: and his widows shall not weep. 16 Though he heap up silver as the dust, and prepare raiment as the clay; 17 He may prepare it, but the just shall put it on, and the innocent shall divide the silver. 18 He buildeth his house as a moth, and as a booth that the keeper maketh. 19 The rich man shall lie down, but he shall not be gathered: he openeth his eyes, and he is not. 20 Terrors take hold on him as waters, a tempest stealeth him away in the night. 21 The east wind carrieth him away, and he departeth: and as a storm hurleth him out of his place. 22 For God shall cast upon him, and not spare: he would fain flee out of his hand.*27.22 he…: Heb. in fleeing he would flee 23 Men shall clap their hands at him, and shall hiss him out of his place.

1 Y REASUMIÓ Job su discurso, y dijo:

2 Vive Dios, ✝27.2 cp. 34.5.el cual ha apartado mi causa,

Y el Omnipotente, que amargó el alma mía,

1 y prosigue afirmando

2 su propia inocencia.

3 Que todo el tiempo que mi alma estuviere en mí,

Y hubiere hálito ✝27.3 Gn. 2.7.de Dios en mis narices,

4 Mis labios no hablarán iniquidad,

Ni mi lengua pronunciará engaño.

5 Nunca tal acontezca que yo os justifique:

✝ 27.5 cp. 2.3,9. Hasta morir no quitaré de mí mi integridad.

6 Mi justicia tengo asida, y no la cederé:

7 Sea como el impío mi enemigo,

Y como el inicuo mi adversario.

8 ✝ 27.8 cp. 8.13. Mt. 16.26. Porque ¿cuál es la esperanza del hipócrita, por mucho que hubiere robado,

Cuando Dios arrebatare su alma?

9 ✝ 27.9 Pr. 1.28. ¿Oirá Dios su clamor

Cuando la tribulación sobre él viniere?

10 ¿Deleitaráse en el Omnipotente?

¿Invocará á Dios en todo tiempo?

11 Yo os enseñaré en orden á la mano de Dios:

No esconderé lo que hay para con el Omnipotente.

12 He aquí que todos vosotros lo habéis visto:

¿Por qué pues os desvanecéis con fantasía?

13 ✝ 27.13 cp. 20.29. Esta es para con Dios la suerte del hombre impío,

Y la herencia que los violentos han de recibir del Omnipotente.

Y sus pequeños no se hartarán de pan;

15 Los que le quedaren, en muerte serán sepultados;

16 Si ✝27.16 Zac. 9.3.amontonare plata como polvo,

Y si preparare ropa como lodo;

17 Habrála él preparado, ✝27.17 Pr. 13.22.mas el justo se vestirá,

Y el inocente repartirá la plata.

18 Edificó su casa como la polilla,

Y ✝27.18 Is. 1.8.cual cabaña que el guarda hizo.

19 El rico dormirá, mas no será ✝27.19 Jer. 8.2. Ez. 29.5.recogido:

Abrirá sus ojos, mas él no será.

20 Asirán de él ✝27.20 cp. 18.11.terrores ✝27.20 cp. 22.11.como aguas:

Torbellino lo arrebatará de noche.

21 Lo antecogerá el solano, y partirá;

Y tempestad lo arrebatará del lugar suyo.

22 Dios pues ✝27.22 cp. 16.13.descargará sobre él, y no perdonará:

Hará él por huir de su mano.

23 ✝ 27.23 Lm. 2.15. Batirán sus manos sobre él,

Y desde su lugar le ✝27.23 Jer. 49.17.silbarán.
