Oséias 3

Hōhea me te Wahine Pūremu

1 I mea anō a Ihowā ki ahau, "Tēnā anō haere, arohaina tētahi wahine e arohaina ana e te tangata, he wahine pūremu; kia rite ki te aroha o Ihowā ki ngā tama a Īharaira, ahakoa e anga atu ana ki ngā atua kē, ā, e matenui ana ki ngā keke karepe maroke."

2 Nā, hokona ana ia e ahau māku ki ngā pīhi hiriwa kotahi tekau mā rima ki te homa pārei, me te hāwhe homa pārei. 3 Ā, ka kī atu ki a ia, "Kia maha ngā rā e noho ai koe he mea taumau māku; kaua e kairau, kaua anō e riro i te tangata; ka pēnā anō ahau ki a koe."

4 He maha hoki ngā rā e noho ai ngā tama a Īharaira, kāhore he kīngi, kāhore he rangatira, kāhore he patunga tapu, kāhore hoki he pou, kāhore he epora, kāhore he terapimi. 5 Muri iho ka hoki mai ngā tama a Īharaira, ka rapu i a Ihowā, i tō rātou Atua, i a Rāwiri anō, i tō rātou kīngi. Ka haere mai i runga i te wehi ki a Ihowā, ki tōna pai anō i ngā rā whakamutunga.

1 And Jehovah said unto me, Go again, love a woman beloved of her friend, and an adulteress, even as Jehovah loveth the children of Israel, though they turn unto other gods, and love cakes of raisins. 2 So I bought her to me for fifteen pieces of silver, and a homer of barley, and a half-homer of barley; 3 and I said unto her, Thou shalt abide for me many days; thou shalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt not be any man’s wife: so will I also be toward thee. 4 For the children of Israel shall abide many days without king, and without prince, and without sacrifice, and without pillar, and without ephod or teraphim: 5 afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek Jehovah their God, and David their king, and shall come with fear unto Jehovah and to his goodness in the latter days.
