1 Depois de dizer essas coisas, Jesus levantou os olhos ao céu e disse:

— Pai, é chegada a hora. Glorifica o teu Filho, para que o Filho glorifique a ti, 2 assim como lhe deste autoridade sobre toda a humanidade, a fim de que ele conceda a vida eterna a todos os que lhe deste. 3 E a vida eterna é esta: que conheçam a ti, o único Deus verdadeiro, e a Jesus Cristo, a quem enviaste. 4 Eu te glorifiquei na terra, realizando a obra que me deste para fazer. 5 E agora, ó Pai, glorifica-me contigo mesmo com a glória que eu tive junto de ti, antes que houvesse mundo. 6 Manifestei o teu nome àqueles que me deste do mundo. Eram teus, tu os deste a mim, e eles têm guardado a tua palavra. 7 Agora eles reconhecem que todas as coisas que me tens dado provêm de ti, 8 porque eu lhes tenho transmitido as palavras que me deste, e eles as receberam, verdadeiramente reconheceram que saí de ti e creram que tu me enviaste.

9 — É por eles que eu peço; não peço pelo mundo, mas por aqueles que me deste, porque são teus. 10 Todas as minhas coisas são tuas, e as tuas coisas são minhas; e, neles, eu sou glorificado. 11 Já não estou no mundo, mas eles continuam no mundo, enquanto eu vou para junto de ti. Pai santo, guarda-os em teu nome, que me deste, para que eles sejam um, assim como nós somos um. 12 Quando eu estava com eles, guardava-os no teu nome, que me deste; eu os protegi e nenhum deles se perdeu, exceto o filho da perdição, para que se cumprisse a Escritura. 13 Mas agora vou para junto de ti e isto falo no mundo para que eles tenham a minha alegria completa em si mesmos. 14 Eu lhes tenho dado a tua palavra, e o mundo os odiou, porque eles não são do mundo, como também eu não sou. 15 Não peço que os tires do mundo, mas que os guardes do mal. 16 Eles não são do mundo, como também eu não sou. 17 Santifica-os na verdade; a tua palavra é a verdade. 18 Assim como tu me enviaste ao mundo, também eu os enviei ao mundo. 19 E a favor deles eu me santifico, para que eles também sejam santificados na verdade.

20 — Não peço somente por estes, mas também por aqueles que vierem a crer em mim, por meio da palavra que eles falarem, 21 a fim de que todos sejam um. E como tu, ó Pai, estás em mim e eu em ti, também eles estejam em nós, para que o mundo creia que tu me enviaste. 22 Eu lhes transmiti a glória que me deste, para que sejam um, como nós o somos; 23 eu neles, e tu em mim, a fim de que sejam aperfeiçoados na unidade, para que o mundo conheça que tu me enviaste e os amaste, como também amaste a mim.

24 — Pai, a minha vontade é que, onde eu estou, também estejam comigo os que me deste, para que vejam a minha glória que me conferiste, porque me amaste antes da fundação do mundo. 25 Pai justo, o mundo não te conheceu. Eu, porém, te conheci, e também estes reconheceram que tu me enviaste. 26 Eu lhes fiz conhecer o teu nome e ainda o farei conhecer, a fim de que o amor com que me amaste esteja neles, e eu neles esteja.

1 Jesus spoke these things, and he lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour has come. Glorify thy Son, that the Son may also glorify thee,2 just as thou gave him authority over all flesh, so that all things that thou have given him, he will give them eternal life.3 And this is eternal life, that they should know thee the only TRUE God, and Jesus Christ whom thou sent.4 I glorified thee on the earth. I finished the work which thou have given me that I should do.5 And now, Father, glorify thou me with thyself with the glory that I had with thee before the world was.6 I manifested thy name to the men whom thou gave me out of the world. They were thine, and thou gave them to me, and they have kept thy word.7 Now they know that all things, as many as thou gave me are from thee.8 Because the sayings that thou gave to me, I gave to them. And they received them, and knew truly that I came forth from thee, and they believed that thou sent me.9 I pray about them. I do not pray about the world, but about whom thou have given me, because they are for thee.10 And all my things are thy things, and thy things are my things, and I am glorified in them.11 And I am no more in the world, and these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep them in thy name that thou have given to me, so that they may be one, just as we.12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name. Whom thou gave to me, I kept, and none of them was destroyed, except the son of destruction, so that the scripture might be fulfilled.13 And now I come to thee. And I speak these things in the world, so that they may have my joy fulfilled in them.14 I have given them thy word, and the world hated them, because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.15 I pray not that thou should take them out of the world, but that thou should keep them from the evil.16 They are not of the world just as I am not of the world.17 Sanctify them in thy truth. Thy word is truth.18 Just as thou sent me into the world, so also I sent them into the world.19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, so that they may also themselves be sanctified in truth.20 And I pray not about these only, but also about those who believe in me through their word,21 so that they may all be one, just as thou, Father, are in me, and I in thee, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that thou sent me.22 And I, the glory that thou have given me, I have given to them, so that they may be one, just as we are one,23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be fully perfected in one, and so that the world may know that thou sent me, and loved them, just as thou loved me.24 Father, whom thou gave to me, I desire that where I am, they also may be with me, so that they may see my glory that thou have given me, because thou loved me before the foundation of the world.25 And righteous Father, the world does not know thee, but I know thee, and these know that thou sent me.26 And I made known to them thy name, and I will make it known, so that the love that thou loved me may be in them, and I in them.
