5 Os filhos de Jafé foram: Gomer, Magogue, Madai, Javã, Tubal, Meseque e Tiras. 6 Os filhos de Gomer foram: Asquenaz, Rifate e Togarma. 7 Os filhos de Javã foram: Elisá, Társis, Quitim e Rodanim.

8 Os filhos de Cam foram: Cuxe, Mizraim, Pute e Canaã. 9 Os filhos de Cuxe foram: Sebá, Havilá, Sabtá, Raamá e Sabtecá. Os filhos de Raamá foram: Sabá e Dedã. 10 Cuxe gerou Ninrode, que começou a ser poderoso na terra. 11 Mizraim gerou Ludim, Anamim, Leabim, Naftuim, 12 Patrusim, Casluim (de quem descendem os filisteus) e Caftorim. 13 Canaã gerou Sidom, seu primogênito, e Hete, 14 e também os jebuseus, os amorreus, os girgaseus, 15 os heveus, os arqueus, os sineus, 16 os arvadeus, os zemareus e os hamateus.

17 Os filhos de Sem foram: Elão, Assur, Arfaxade, Lude, Arã, Uz, Hul, Geter e Meseque. 18 Arfaxade gerou Selá, e Selá gerou Héber. 19 A Héber nasceram dois filhos: o nome de um foi Pelegue, porque em seus dias se repartiu a terra; e o nome de seu irmão foi Joctã. 20 Joctã gerou Almodá, Salefe, Hazar-Mavé, Jerá, 21 Hadorão, Uzal, Dicla, 22 Ebal, Abimael, Sabá, 23 Ofir, Havilá e Jobabe. Todos estes foram filhos de Joctã.

24 Sem, Arfaxade, Selá, 25 Héber, Pelegue, Reú, 26 Serugue, Naor, Tera 27 e Abrão, que é Abraão.

28 Os filhos de Abraão foram: Isaque e Ismael. 29 São estas as suas gerações: o primogênito de Ismael foi Nebaiote; depois Quedar, Adbeel, Mibsão, 30 Misma, Dumá, Massá, Hadade, Temá, 31 Jetur, Nafis e Quedemá. Estes foram os filhos de Ismael.

32 Quanto aos filhos de Quetura, concubina de Abraão, esta deu à luz Zinrã, Jocsã, Medã, Midiã, Isbaque e Sua. Os filhos de Jocsã foram: Sabá e Dedã. 33 Os filhos de Midiã foram: Efá, Éfer, Enoque, Abida e Elda. Todos estes foram filhos de Quetura. 34 Abraão, pois, gerou Isaque. Os filhos de Isaque foram: Esaú e Israel.

35 Os filhos de Esaú foram: Elifaz, Reuel, Jeús, Jalão e Coré. 36 Os filhos de Elifaz foram: Temã, Omar, Zefi, Gaetã, Quenaz, Timna e Amaleque. 37 Os filhos de Reuel foram: Naate, Zerá, Samá e Mizá.

38 Os filhos de Seir foram: Lotã, Sobal, Zibeão, Aná, Diso, Eser e Disã. 39 Os filhos de Lotã foram: Hori e Homã; e a irmã de Lotã foi Timna. 40 Os filhos de Sobal foram Aliã, Manaate, Ebal, Sefô e Onã. Os filhos de Zibeão foram: Aías e Aná. 41 O filho de Aná foi Disom. Os filhos de Disom foram: Hanrão, Esbã, Itrã e Querã. 42 Os filhos de Eser foram: Bilã, Zaavã e Jaacã. Os filhos de Disã foram: Uz e Arã.

43 Estes são os reis que reinaram na terra de Edom, antes que houvesse rei sobre os filhos de Israel:

Belá, filho de Beor. E o nome da sua cidade era Dinabá. 44 Belá morreu e, em seu lugar, reinou Jobabe, filho de Zera, de Bozra.

45 Jobabe morreu e, em seu lugar, reinou Husão, da terra dos temanitas.

46 Husão morreu e, em seu lugar, reinou Hadade, filho de Bedade. Este derrotou Midiã no campo de Moabe. O nome da sua cidade era Avite.

47 Hadade morreu e, em seu lugar, reinou Samlá, de Masreca.

48 Samlá morreu e, em seu lugar, reinou Saul, de Reobote, junto ao Eufrates.

49 Saul morreu e, em seu lugar, reinou Baal-Hanã, filho de Acbor.

50 Baal-Hanã morreu e, em seu lugar, reinou Hadade. O nome de sua cidade era Paú, e o de sua mulher era Meetabel, filha de Matrede, filha de Me-Zaabe. 51 Hadade morreu.

Estes são os nomes dos chefes de Edom: Timna, Alva, Jetete, 52 Oolibama, Elá, Pinom, 53 Quenaz, Temã, Mibzar, 54 Magdiel e Irão. Estes são os chefes de Edom.

17 The sons of Shem: Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, Aram, Uz, Hul, Gether, and Meshech. 18 Arpachshad became the father of Shelah, and Shelah became the father of Eber. 19 To Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided; and his brother’s name was Joktan. 20 Joktan became the father of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah, 21 Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah, 22 Ebal, Abimael, Sheba, 23 Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan. 24 Shem, Arpachshad, Shelah, 25 Eber, Peleg, Reu, 26 Serug, Nahor, Terah, 27 Abram (also called Abraham).

28 The sons of Abraham: Isaac and Ishmael. 29 These are their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebaioth; then Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam, 30 Mishma, Dumah, Massa, Hadad, Tema, 31 Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah. These are the sons of Ishmael.

32 The sons of Keturah, Abraham’s concubine: she bore Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah. The sons of Jokshan: Sheba and Dedan. 33 The sons of Midian: Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the sons of Keturah.

34 Abraham became the father of Isaac. The sons of Isaac: Esau and Israel. 35 The sons of Esau: Eliphaz, Reuel, Jeush, Jalam, and Korah. 36 The sons of Eliphaz: Teman, Omar, Zephi, Gatam, Kenaz, Timna, and Amalek. 37 The sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.

38 The sons of Seir: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan. 39 The sons of Lotan: Hori and Homam; and Timna was Lotan’s sister. 40 The sons of Shobal: Alian, Manahath, Ebal, Shephi, and Onam. The sons of Zibeon: Aiah and Anah. 41 The son of Anah: Dishon. The sons of Dishon: Hamran, Eshban, Ithran, and Cheran. 42 The sons of Ezer: Bilhan, Zaavan, and Jaakan. The sons of Dishan: Uz and Aran.

43 Now these are the kings who reigned in the land of Edom, before any king reigned over the children of Israel: Bela the son of Beor; and the name of his city was Dinhabah. 44 Bela died, and Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his place. 45 Jobab died, and Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his place. 46 Husham died, and Hadad the son of Bedad, who struck Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his place; and the name of his city was Avith. 47 Hadad died, and Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his place. 48 Samlah died, and Shaul of Rehoboth by the River reigned in his place. 49 Shaul died, and Baal Hanan the son of Achbor reigned in his place. 50 Baal Hanan died, and Hadad reigned in his place; and the name of his city was Pai. His wife’s name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab. 51 Then Hadad died. The chiefs of Edom were: chief Timna, chief Aliah, chief Jetheth, 52 chief Oholibamah, chief Elah, chief Pinon, 53 chief Kenaz, chief Teman, chief Mibzar, 54 chief Magdiel, and chief Iram. These are the chiefs of Edom.
