Isaiah 62

Zion’s New Name

1 For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent,

for Jerusalem’s sake I will not remain quiet,

till her vindication shines out like the dawn,

her salvation like a blazing torch.

2 The nations will see your vindication,

and all kings your glory;

you will be called by a new name

that the mouth of the Lord will bestow.

3 You will be a crown of splendor in the Lord’s hand,

a royal diadem in the hand of your God.

4 No longer will they call you Deserted,

or name your land Desolate.

But you will be called Hephzibah,*62:4 Hephzibah means my delight is in her.

and your land Beulah*62:4 Beulah means married.;

for the Lord will take delight in you,

and your land will be married.

5 As a young man marries a young woman,

so will your Builder marry you;

as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride,

so will your God rejoice over you.

6 I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem;

they will never be silent day or night.

You who call on the Lord,

give yourselves no rest,

7 and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem

and makes her the praise of the earth.

8 The Lord has sworn by his right hand

and by his mighty arm:

"Never again will I give your grain

as food for your enemies,

and never again will foreigners drink the new wine

for which you have toiled;

9 but those who harvest it will eat it

and praise the Lord,

and those who gather the grapes will drink it

in the courts of my sanctuary."

10 Pass through, pass through the gates!

Prepare the way for the people.

Build up, build up the highway!

Remove the stones.

Raise a banner for the nations.

11 The Lord has made proclamation

to the ends of the earth:

"Say to Daughter Zion,

‘See, your Savior comes!

See, his reward is with him,

and his recompense accompanies him.’ "

12 They will be called the Holy People,

the Redeemed of the Lord;

and you will be called Sought After,

the City No Longer Deserted.

O novo nome de Sião

1 Por amor a Sião, não me calarei

e, por amor a Jerusalém, não me aquietarei

enquanto a sua justiça não resplandecer como a alvorada,

e a sua salvação, como as chamas de uma tocha.

2 As nações verão a sua justiça,

e todos os reis, a sua glória;

você será chamada por um novo nome

que a boca do Senhor designará.

3 Será uma esplêndida coroa na mão do Senhor,

um diadema real na palma da mão do seu Deus.

4 Nunca mais a chamarão Abandonada,

nem à sua terra chamarão Desamparada.

Você, porém, será chamada Hefzibá,*62.4 Hefzibá significa o meu prazer está nela.

e a sua terra, Beulá,*62.4 Beulá significa casada.

pois o Senhor terá prazer em você,

e a sua terra estará casada.

5 Como o jovem se casa com a noiva,

assim os seus filhos se casarão*62.5 Ou assim aquele que a edificou se casará. com você;

como o noivo se regozija com a noiva,

assim o seu Deus se regozija com você.

6 Coloquei sentinelas sobre os seus muros, ó Jerusalém;

jamais descansarão, dia e noite.

Vocês que clamam pelo Senhor,

não se entreguem ao repouso

7 nem lhe concedam descanso

até que ele estabeleça Jerusalém

e faça dela o louvor da terra.

8 O Senhor jurou por sua mão direita

e por seu braço poderoso:

"Nunca mais darei o seu trigo

como alimento para os seus inimigos;

nunca mais os estrangeiros beberão o vinho novo

pelo qual vocês se afadigaram;

9 mas aqueles que colherem o trigo

comerão dele e louvarão ao Senhor;

aqueles que juntarem as uvas

beberão delas nos pátios do meu santuário".

10 Passem, passem pelas portas!

Preparem o caminho para o povo.

Construam, construam a estrada!

Removam as pedras.

Ergam uma bandeira para as nações.

11 O Senhor proclamou

aos confins da terra:

"Digam à Filha de Sião:

‘Veja! O seu Salvador vem!

Veja! Ele traz a sua recompensa,

e o seu galardão o acompanha’ ".

12 Eles serão chamados Povo Santo,

Redimidos do Senhor;

e você será chamada Procurada,

Cidade Não Abandonada.
