1 Ó Senhor, Senhor nosso,
a tua grandeza é vista
no mundo inteiro.
O louvor dado a ti chega até o céu
2 e é cantado pelas crianças
e pelas criancinhas de colo.
Tu construíste uma fortaleza
para te proteger dos teus inimigos,
para acabar com todos
os que te desafiam.
3 Quando olho para o céu,
que tu criaste,
para a lua e para as estrelas,
que puseste nos seus lugares —
4 que é um simples ser humano
para que penses nele?
Que é um ser mortal
para que te preocupes com ele?
5 No entanto, fizeste o ser humano
inferior somente a ti mesmo
e lhe deste a glória e a honra
de um rei.
6 Tu lhe deste poder
sobre tudo o que criaste;
tu puseste todas as coisas
debaixo do domínio dele:
7 as ovelhas e o gado
e os animais selvagens também;
8 os pássaros e os peixes
e todos os seres que vivem no mar.
9 Ó Senhor, nosso Deus,
a tua grandeza é vista
no mundo inteiro.

1 To the Chief Musician upon gittith. A Psalm of David. O LORD our Lord, how excellent is your name in all the earth! who have set your glory above the heavens.2 Out of the mouth of babes and infants have you ordained strength because of your enemies, that you might still the enemy and the avenger.3 When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have ordained;4 What is man, that you are mindful of him? and the son of man, that you visit him?5 For you have made him a little lower than the angels, and have crowned him with glory and honor.6 You made him to have dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet:7 All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;8 The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passes through the paths of the seas.9 O LORD our Lord, how excellent is your name in all the earth!
