Oseias 6

A obstinação de Israel

1 "Venham, voltemos para o Senhor.

Ele nos despedaçou,

mas nos trará cura;

ele nos feriu,

mas enfaixará as nossas feridas.

2 Depois de dois dias, ele nos dará vida novamente;

ao terceiro dia, ele nos restaurará,

para que vivamos na sua presença.

3 Conheçamos o Senhor;

esforcemo-nos por conhecê-lo.

Tão certo como nasce o sol,

ele aparecerá;

virá a nós como as chuvas do inverno,

como as chuvas da primavera que regam a terra."

4 "Que posso fazer com você, Efraim?

Que posso fazer com você, Judá?

O seu amor é como a neblina da manhã,

como o primeiro orvalho que logo evapora.

5 Por isso, eu os despedacei por meio dos meus profetas,

eu os matei com as palavras da minha boca.

O meu juízo sairá como a alvorada.

6 Pois desejo misericórdia, não sacrifícios;

conhecimento de Deus em vez de holocaustos.*6.6 Isto é, sacrifícios totalmente queimados.

7 Mas eles, como Adão,*6.7 Ou como seres humanos.

quebraram a aliança

e ali me traíram.

8 Gileade é uma cidade de ímpios,

maculada de sangue.

9 Como assaltantes de emboscada à espera de alguém,

assim fazem os bandos de sacerdotes;

eles assassinam na estrada de Siquém;

sim, executam planos perversos.

10 Vi algo tremendamente horrível em Israel.

Ali Efraim se prostitui,

e Israel está contaminado.

11 "Também para você, Judá,

foi determinada uma colheita.

Israel Unrepentant

1 "Come, let us return to the Lord.

He has torn us to pieces

but he will heal us;

he has injured us

but he will bind up our wounds.

2 After two days he will revive us;

on the third day he will restore us,

that we may live in his presence.

3 Let us acknowledge the Lord;

let us press on to acknowledge him.

As surely as the sun rises,

he will appear;

he will come to us like the winter rains,

like the spring rains that water the earth."

4 "What can I do with you, Ephraim?

What can I do with you, Judah?

Your love is like the morning mist,

like the early dew that disappears.

5 Therefore I cut you in pieces with my prophets,

I killed you with the words of my mouth—

then my judgments go forth like the sun.*6:5 The meaning of the Hebrew for this line is uncertain.

6 For I desire mercy, not sacrifice,

and acknowledgment of God rather than burnt offerings.

7 As at Adam,*6:7 Or Like Adam; or Like human beings they have broken the covenant;

they were unfaithful to me there.

8 Gilead is a city of evildoers,

stained with footprints of blood.

9 As marauders lie in ambush for a victim,

so do bands of priests;

they murder on the road to Shechem,

carrying out their wicked schemes.

10 I have seen a horrible thing in Israel:

There Ephraim is given to prostitution,

Israel is defiled.

11 "Also for you, Judah,

a harvest is appointed.

"Whenever I would restore the fortunes of my people,
