1 "Chame seu irmão Arão e separe-o dentre os israelitas, e também os seus filhos Nadabe e Abiú, Eleazar e Itamar, para que me sirvam como sacerdotes.2 Para o seu irmão Arão, faça vestes sagradas que lhe confiram dignidade e honra.3 Diga a todos os homens capazes, aos quais dei habilidade, que façam vestes para a consagração de Arão, para que me sirva como sacerdote.4 São estas as vestes que farão: um peitoral, um colete sacerdotal, um manto, uma túnica bordada, um turbante e um cinturão. Na primeira fileira haverá um rubi, um topázio e um berilo;18 na segunda, uma turquesa, uma safira e um diamante;19 na terceira, um jacinto, uma ágata e uma ametista;20 na quarta, um crisólito, um ônix e um jaspe.21 Serão doze pedras, uma para cada um dos nomes dos filhos de Israel, cada uma gravada como um selo, com o nome de uma das doze tribos.22 "Faça para o peitoral correntes de ouro puro trançadas como cordas.23 Faça também duas argolas de ouro e prenda-as às duas extremidades do peitoral.24 Prenda as duas correntes de ouro às argolas nas extremidades do peitoral,25 e as outras extremidades das correntes, às duas filigranas, unindo-as às peças das ombreiras do colete sacerdotal, na parte da frente.26 Faça outras duas argolas de ouro e prenda-as às outras duas extremidades do peitoral, na borda interna, próxima ao colete sacerdotal.27 Faça mais duas argolas de ouro e prenda-as na parte inferior das ombreiras, na frente do colete sacerdotal, próximas da costura, logo acima do cinturão do colete sacerdotal.28 As argolas do peitoral serão amarradas às argolas do colete com um cordão azul, ligando-o ao cinturão, para que o peitoral não se separe do colete sacerdotal.29 "Toda vez que Arão entrar no Lugar Santo, levará os nomes dos filhos de Israel sobre o seu coração no peitoral de decisões, como memorial permanente perante o Senhor.30 Ponha também o Urim e o Tumim no peitoral das decisões, para que estejam sobre o coração de Arão sempre que ele entrar na presença do Senhor. Assim, Arão levará sempre sobre o coração, na presença do Senhor, os meios para tomar decisões em Israel. "31 "Faça o manto do colete sacerdotal inteiramente de fios de tecido azul,32 com uma abertura para a cabeça no centro. Ao redor dessa abertura haverá uma dobra tecida, como uma gola, para que não se rasgue.33 Faça romãs de fios de tecido azul, roxo e vermelho em volta da borda do manto, intercaladas com pequenos sinos de ouro.34 Os sinos de ouro e as romãs se alternarão por toda a volta da borda do manto.35 Arão o vestirá quando ministrar. O som dos sinos será ouvido quando ele entrar no Lugar Santo diante do Senhor e quando sair, para que não morra.36 "Faça um diadema de ouro puro e grave nele como se grava um selo: Consagrado ao Senhor.37 Prenda-o na parte da frente do turbante com uma fita azul.38 Estará sobre a testa de Arão; assim ele levará a culpa de qualquer pecado que os israelitas cometerem em relação às coisas sagradas, ao fazerem todas as suas ofertas. Estará sempre sobre a testa de Arão, para que as ofertas sejam aceitas pelo Senhor.39 "Teça a túnica e o turbante com linho fino. 1 And you bring near to you Aaron your brother, and his sons with him, from among the sons of Israel, that he may serve me in the priest's office, even Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron's sons.2 And you will make holy garments for Aaron your brother, for glory and for beauty.3 And you will speak to all who are wise-hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they make Aaron's garments to sanctify him, that he may serve me in the priest's office.4 And these are the garments which they will make: a breastplate, and an ephod, and a robe, and a coat of checker work, a turban, and a belt: and they will make holy garments for Aaron your brother, and his sons, that he may serve me in the priest's office.5 And they will take the gold, and the blue, and the purple, and the scarlet, and the fine linen.6 And they will make the ephod of gold, of blue, and purple, scarlet, and fine twined linen, the work of the skillful workman.7 It will have two shoulder-pieces joined to it. On its two ends it will be joined together.8 And the skillfully woven band, which is on it, with which to gird it on, will be like its work [and] of the same piece; of gold, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen.9 And you will take two onyx stones, and engrave on them the names of the sons of Israel:10 six of their names on the one stone, and the names of the six that remain on the other stone, according to their birth.11 With the work of an engraver in stone, like the engravings of a signet, you will engrave the two stones, according to the names of the sons of Israel: you will make them to be enclosed in settings of gold.12 And you will put the two stones on the shoulder-pieces of the ephod, to be stones of memorial for the sons of Israel: and Aaron will bear their names before Yahweh on his two shoulders for a memorial.13 And you will make settings of gold,14 and two chains of pure gold; like cords you will make them, of wreathed work: and you will put the wreathed chains on the settings.15 And you will make a breastplate of judgment, the work of the skillful workman; like the work of an ephod you will make it; of gold, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, you will make it.16 Foursquare it will be [and] double; a span will be its length, and a span its width.17 And you will set in it settings of stones, four rows of stones: a row of sardius, topaz, and carbuncle will be the first row;18 and the second row an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond;19 and the third row a jacinth, an agate, and an amethyst;20 and the fourth row a beryl, and an onyx, and a jasper: they will be enclosed in gold in their settings.21 And the stones will be according to the names of the sons of Israel, twelve, according to their names; like the engravings of a signet, every one according to his name, they will be for the twelve tribes.22 And you will make on the breastplate chains like cords, of wreathed work of pure gold.23 And you will make on the breastplate two rings of gold, and will put the two rings on the two ends of the breastplate.24 And you will put the two wreathed chains of gold in the two rings at the ends of the breastplate.25 And the [other] two ends of the two wreathed chains you will put on the two settings, and put them on the shoulder-pieces of the ephod in its forepart.26 And you will make two rings of gold, and you will put them on the two ends of the breastplate, on its edge, which is toward the side of the ephod inward.27 And you will make two rings of gold, and will put them on the two shoulder-pieces of the ephod underneath, in its forepart, close by its coupling, above the skillfully woven band of the ephod.28 And they will bind the breastplate by its rings to the rings of the ephod with a lace of blue, that it may be on the skillfully woven band of the ephod, and that the breastplate may not be loosed from the ephod.29 And Aaron will bear the names of the sons of Israel in the breastplate of judgment on his heart, when he goes in to the holy place, for a memorial before Yahweh continually.30 And you will put in the breastplate of judgment the Urim and the Thummim; and they will be on Aaron's heart, when he goes in before Yahweh: and Aaron will bear the judgment of the sons of Israel on his heart before Yahweh continually.31 And you will make the robe of the ephod all of blue.32 And it will have a hole for the head in the midst of it: it will have a binding of woven work round about the hole of it, as it were the hole of a coat of mail, that it is not rent.33 And on the skirts of it you will make pomegranates of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, round about its skirts; and bells of gold between them round about:34 a golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate, on the skirts of the robe round about.35 And it will be on Aaron to minister: and its sound will be heard when he goes in to the holy place before Yahweh, and when he comes out, that he will not die.36 And you will make a plate of pure gold, and engrave on it, like the engravings of a signet, HOLY TO YAHWEH.37 And you will put it on a lace of blue, and it will be on the turban; on the forefront of the turban it will be.38 And it will be on Aaron's forehead, and Aaron will bear the iniquity of the holy things, which the sons of Israel will hallow in all their holy gifts; and it will be always on his forehead, that they may be accepted before Yahweh.39 And you will weave the coat in checker work of fine linen, and you will make a turban of fine linen, and you will make a belt, the work of the embroiderer.40 And for Aaron's sons you will make coats, and you will make for them belts, and head-tires you will make for them, for glory and for beauty.41 And you will put them on Aaron your brother, and on his sons with him, and will anoint them, and consecrate them, and sanctify them, that they may serve me in the priest's office.42 And you will make them linen breeches to cover the flesh of their nakedness; from the loins even to the thighs they will reach:43 And they will be on Aaron, and on his sons, when they go in to the tent of meeting, or when they come near to the altar to minister in the holy place; that they will not bear iniquity, and die: it will be a statute forever to him and to his seed after him.
