1 Uzias, filho de Amazias, começou a reinar em Judá no vigésimo sétimo ano do reinado de Jeroboão II, rei de Israel. 2 Tinha 16 anos quando começou a reinar, e reinou em Jerusalém por 52 anos. Sua mãe se chamava Jecolias e era de Jerusalém.

3 Fez o que era certo aos olhos do Senhor, como seu pai, Amazias. 4 Contudo, não destruiu os santuários idólatras, e o povo continuou a oferecer sacrifícios e a queimar incenso nesses lugares. 5 O Senhor feriu o rei com lepra, enfermidade que durou até o dia de sua morte. Vivia isolado, numa casa separada. Jotão, filho do rei, tomava conta do palácio e governava o povo.

6 Os demais acontecimentos do reinado de Uzias e tudo que ele fez estão registrados no Livro da História dos Reis de Judá. 7 Quando Uzias morreu, foi sepultado com seus antepassados na Cidade de Davi. Seu filho Jotão foi seu sucessor.

8 Zacarias, filho de Jeroboão II, começou a reinar em Israel no trigésimo oitavo ano do reinado de Uzias, rei de Judá. Reinou em Samaria por seis meses. 9 Fez o que era mau aos olhos do Senhor, como seus antepassados. Não se afastou dos pecados que Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, havia levado Israel a cometer. 10 Então Salum, filho de Jabes, conspirou contra Zacarias, matou-o diante do povo e se tornou seu sucessor.

11 Os demais acontecimentos do reinado de Zacarias estão registrados no Livro da História dos Reis de Israel. 12 Assim se cumpriu a mensagem do Senhor a Jeú: "Seus descendentes serão reis de Israel até a quarta geração".

13 Salum, filho de Jabes, começou a reinar em Israel no trigésimo nono ano do reinado de Uzias, rei de Judá. Reinou em Samaria por apenas um mês. 14 Então Menaém, filho de Gadi, veio de Tirza a Samaria, matou Salum, filho de Jabes, e se tornou seu sucessor.

15 Os demais acontecimentos do reinado de Salum, incluindo a conspiração que liderou, estão registrados no Livro da História dos Reis de Israel.

16 Nessa ocasião, Menaém destruiu a cidade de Tapua e seus arredores, até Tirza, pois seus habitantes se recusaram a entregar a cidade. Matou toda a população e rasgou o ventre das mulheres grávidas.

17 Menaém, filho de Gadi, começou a reinar em Israel no trigésimo nono ano do reinado de Uzias, rei de Judá. Reinou em Samaria por dez anos. 18 Fez o que era mau aos olhos do Senhor. Durante todo o seu reinado, não se afastou dos pecados que Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, havia levado Israel a cometer.

19 Então Tiglate-Pileser, rei da Assíria, invadiu a terra de Israel. Contudo, Menaém lhe pagou 35 toneladas de prata a fim de obter seu apoio e firmar-se no poder. 20 Menaém extorquiu esse valor dos ricos de Israel e exigiu que cada um contribuísse com seiscentos gramas de prata para o tributo pago ao rei da Assíria. Assim, o rei da Assíria parou de atacar Israel e foi embora.

21 Os demais acontecimentos do reinado de Menaém e tudo que ele fez estão registrados no Livro da História dos Reis de Israel. 22 Quando Menaém morreu e se reuniu a seus antepassados, seu filho Pecaías se tornou seu sucessor.

23 Pecaías, filho de Menaém, começou a reinar em Israel no quinquagésimo ano do reinado de Uzias, rei de Judá. Reinou em Samaria por dois anos. 24 Fez o que era mau aos olhos do Senhor. Não se afastou dos pecados que Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, havia levado Israel a cometer.

25 Então Peca, filho de Remalias e comandante do exército de Pecaías, conspirou contra ele. Acompanhado de cinquenta homens de Gileade, assassinou o rei, e também Argobe e Arié, na fortaleza do palácio em Samaria. E Peca se tornou seu sucessor.

27 Peca, filho de Remalias, começou a reinar em Israel no quinquagésimo segundo ano do reinado de Uzias, rei de Judá. Reinou em Samaria por vinte anos. 28 Fez o que era mau aos olhos do Senhor. Não se afastou dos pecados que Jeroboão, filho de Nebate, havia levado Israel a cometer.

29 Durante o reinado de Peca, Tiglate-Pileser, rei da Assíria, atacou Israel novamente e conquistou as cidades de Ijom, Abel-Bete-Maaca, Janoa, Quedes e Hazor. Também conquistou as regiões de Gileade e da Galileia, e todo o território de Naftali, e levou os habitantes cativos para a Assíria. 30 Então Oseias, filho de Elá, conspirou contra Peca, filho de Remalias, e o assassinou. Começou a reinar em Israel no vigésimo ano do reinado de Jotão, filho de Uzias.

32 Jotão, filho de Uzias, começou a reinar em Judá no segundo ano do reinado de Peca, filho de Remalias, rei de Israel. 33 Tinha 25 anos quando começou a reinar, e reinou em Jerusalém por dezesseis anos. Sua mãe se chamava Jerusa e era filha de Zadoque.

34 Jotão fez o que era certo aos olhos do Senhor, como seu pai, Uzias. 35 Contudo, não destruiu os santuários idólatras, e o povo continuou a oferecer sacrifícios e a queimar incenso nesse lugares. Jotão reconstruiu a porta superior do templo do Senhor.

36 Os demais acontecimentos do reinado de Jotão e tudo que ele fez estão registrados no Livro da História dos Reis de Judá. 37 Naqueles dias, o Senhor começou a instigar Rezim, rei da Síria, e Peca, filho de Remalias, a atacarem Judá. 38 Quando Jotão morreu, foi sepultado com seus antepassados na Cidade de Davi. Seu filho Acaz foi seu sucessor.

1 In the twenty-seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel, Azariah son of Amaziah king of Judah began to reign. 2 He was sixteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty-two years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Jecoliah of Jerusalem. 3 He did that which was right in Yahweh’s eyes, according to all that his father Amaziah had done. 4 However, the high places were not taken away. The people still sacrificed and burned incense in the high places. 5 Yahweh struck the king, so that he was a leper to the day of his death, and lived in a separate house. Jotham, the king’s son, was over the household, judging the people of the land. 6 Now the rest of the acts of Azariah, and all that he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? 7 Azariah slept with his fathers; and they buried him with his fathers in David’s city; and Jotham his son reigned in his place.

8 In the thirty-eighth year of Azariah king of Judah, Zechariah the son of Jeroboam reigned over Israel in Samaria six months. 9 He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, as his fathers had done. He didn’t depart from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin. 10 Shallum the son of Jabesh conspired against him, and struck him before the people and killed him, and reigned in his place. 11 Now the rest of the acts of Zechariah, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel. 12 This was Yahweh’s word which he spoke to Jehu, saying, "Your sons to the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel." So it came to pass.

13 Shallum the son of Jabesh began to reign in the thirty-ninth year of Uzziah king of Judah, and he reigned for a month in Samaria. 14 Menahem the son of Gadi went up from Tirzah, came to Samaria, struck Shallum the son of Jabesh in Samaria, killed him, and reigned in his place. 15 Now the rest of the acts of Shallum, and his conspiracy which he made, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

16 Then Menahem attacked Tiphsah and all who were in it, and its border areas, from Tirzah. He attacked it because they didn’t open their gates to him, and he ripped up all their women who were with child.

17 In the thirty ninth year of Azariah king of Judah, Menahem the son of Gadi began to reign over Israel for ten years in Samaria. 18 He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight. He didn’t depart all his days from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin. 19 Pul the king of Assyria came against the land, and Menahem gave Pul one thousand talents of silver, that his hand might be with him to confirm the kingdom in his hand. 20 Menahem exacted the money from Israel, even from all the mighty men of wealth, from each man fifty shekels of silver, to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back, and didn’t stay there in the land. 21 Now the rest of the acts of Menahem, and all that he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel? 22 Menahem slept with his fathers, and Pekahiah his son reigned in his place.

23 In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah, Pekahiah the son of Menahem began to reign over Israel in Samaria for two years. 24 He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight. He didn’t depart from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin. 25 Pekah the son of Remaliah, his captain, conspired against him and attacked him in Samaria, in the fortress of the king’s house, with Argob and Arieh; and with him were fifty men of the Gileadites. He killed him, and reigned in his place. 26 Now the rest of the acts of Pekahiah, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

27 In the fifty-second year of Azariah king of Judah, Pekah the son of Remaliah began to reign over Israel in Samaria for twenty years. 28 He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight. He didn’t depart from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin. 29 In the days of Pekah king of Israel, Tiglath Pileser king of Assyria came and took Ijon, Abel Beth Maacah, Janoah, Kedesh, Hazor, Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali; and he carried them captive to Assyria. 30 Hoshea the son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah, attacked him, killed him, and reigned in his place, in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah. 31 Now the rest of the acts of Pekah, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

32 In the second year of Pekah the son of Remaliah king of Israel, Jotham the son of Uzziah king of Judah began to reign. 33 He was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Jerusha the daughter of Zadok. 34 He did that which was right in Yahweh’s eyes. He did according to all that his father Uzziah had done. 35 However the high places were not taken away. The people still sacrificed and burned incense in the high places. He built the upper gate of Yahweh’s house. 36 Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all that he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? 37 In those days, Yahweh began to send Rezin the king of Syria and Pekah the son of Remaliah against Judah. 38 Jotham slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in his father David’s city; and Ahaz his son reigned in his place.
