1 Wherefore, having this ministry, even as we received mercy, we faint not;2 But have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully,but, by the manifestation of the truth, commending ourselves unto every conscience of men, in the sight of God.3 And, even if our glad-message is veiled, in them who are perishing, it is veiled,4 In whom, the god of this age, hath blinded the minds of the unbelieving, to the end they may not discern the radiance e of the glad-message of the glory of the Christwho is the image of God.5 For, not ourselves, do we proclaim, but Christ Jesus, as Lord, and, ourselves, as your servants for Jesus sake.6 Because, the God who saidOut of darkness, light shall shine! who hath shone in our hearts, in proportion to the radiance of the glorious knowledge of God, in the face of Christ.7 Howbeit we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that, the surpassing greatness of the power, may be of God, and not from ourselves:8 On every side, pressed hard, but not hemmed in, without a way, but not without a by-way,9 Pursued, but not abandoned, thrown down, but not destroyed;10 At all times, the putting to death of Jesus, in our body, bearing about, in order that, the life also of Jesus, in our body, may be made manifest;11 For, evermore, we, the living, unto death are being delivered, for Jesus sake, in order that, the life also of Jesus, may be made manifest in our mortal flesh:12 So that, his death, in us, doth energise, but, his life, in you.13 Howbeit, seeing that we have the same spirit of faith, according to that which is writtenI believed, therefore I spake, we, also believe, therefore also we speak:14 Knowing that, he who raised up the Lord Jesus, will raise up, us also, together with Jesus, and will present together with you.15 For, all things, are for your sakes, in order that, the favour abounding, may, through means of the greater number, cause, the thanksgiving, to superabound unto the glory of God.16 Wherefore we faint not, but, even if, our outer man, is decaying, nevertheless, our inner , is renewing day by day.17 For, the momentary lightness of thee tribulation, in a manner yet more and more excelling, is working out for us, an age-abiding weight of glory,18 So long as we are not looking out for the visible things, but for the invisible; for, the visible things, are temporary, whereas, the invisible, are age-abiding.

1 Pelo que, tendo este ministério, segundo a misericórdia que nos foi feita, não desfalecemos; 2 antes, rejeitamos as coisas que, por vergonha, se ocultam, não andando com astúcia nem falsificando a palavra de Deus; e assim nos recomendamos à consciência de todo homem, na presença de Deus, pela manifestação da verdade. 3 Mas, se ainda o nosso evangelho está encoberto, para os que se perdem está encoberto, 4 nos quais o deus deste século cegou os entendimentos dos incrédulos, para que não lhes resplandeça a luz do evangelho da glória de Cristo, que é a imagem de Deus. 5 Porque não nos pregamos a nós mesmos, mas a Cristo Jesus, o Senhor; e nós mesmos somos vossos servos, por amor de Jesus. 6 Porque Deus, que disse que das trevas resplandecesse a luz, é quem resplandeceu em nossos corações, para iluminação do conhecimento da glória de Deus, na face de Jesus Cristo.

7 Temos, porém, esse tesouro em vasos de barro, para que a excelência do poder seja de Deus e não de nós. 8 Em tudo somos atribulados, mas não angustiados; perplexos, mas não desanimados; 9 perseguidos, mas não desamparados; abatidos, mas não destruídos; 10 trazendo sempre por toda parte a mortificação do Senhor Jesus no nosso corpo, para que a vida de Jesus se manifeste também em nossos corpos. 11 E assim nós, que vivemos, estamos sempre entregues à morte por amor de Jesus, para que a vida de Jesus se manifeste também em nossa carne mortal. 12 De maneira que em nós opera a morte, mas em vós, a vida. 13 E temos, portanto, o mesmo espírito de fé, como está escrito: Cri; por isso, falei. Nós cremos também; por isso, também falamos, 14 sabendo que o que ressuscitou o Senhor Jesus nos ressuscitará também por Jesus e nos apresentará convosco. 15 Porque tudo isso é por amor de vós, para que a graça, multiplicada por meio de muitos, torne abundante a ação de graças, para glória de Deus.

16 Por isso, não desfalecemos; mas, ainda que o nosso homem exterior se corrompa, o interior, contudo, se renova de dia em dia. 17 Porque a nossa leve e momentânea tribulação produz para nós um peso eterno de glória mui excelente, 18 não atentando nós nas coisas que se veem, mas nas que se não veem; porque as que se veem são temporais, e as que se não veem são eternas.
