1 And it came to pass, after the plague, that Yahweh spake unto Moses, and unto Eleazar son of Aaron the priest, saying:2 Reckon ye up the sum of all the assembly of the sons of Israel from twenty years old and upwards, by their ancestral houses,every one able to go forth to war in Israel.3 So then Moses and Eleazar the priest spake with them, in the waste plains of Moab,by the Jordan near Jericho saying:4 From twenty years old and upwards, As Yahweh commanded Moses, and the sons of Israel, who had come forth out of the land of Egypt.5 Reuben, the firstborn of Israel,the sons of Reuben, To Hanoch, pertained the family of the Hanochites; To Pallu, the family of the Palluites;6 To Hezron, the family of the Hezronites,To Carrel, the family of the Carmites.7 These, are the families of the Reubenites,and they who were numbered of them were found to beforty-three thousand, and seven hundred, and thirty.8 Now, the sons of Pallu, were Eliab;9 and the sons of Eliab, Nemuel, and Dathan and Abiram,The same, Dathan and Abiram, notable men of the assembly, who contended against Moses and against Aaron in the assembly of Korah, when they contended against Yahweh;10 and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them upwith Korah also, when the assembly died,when the fire consumed two hundred and fifty men, and they became a warning;11 But, the sons of Korah, died not.12 The sons of Simeon, by their families, To Nemuel, pertained the family of the Nemuelites, To Jamin, the family of the Jaminites,To Jachin, the family of the Jachinites:13 To Zerah, the family of the Zerahites,To Shaul, the family of the Shaulites:14 These, are the families of the Simeonites,two and twenty thousand and two hundred.15 The sons of Gad, by their families, To Zephon, pertained the family of the Zephonites; To Haggi, the family of the Haggites,To Shuni, the family of the Shunites;16 To Ozni, the family of the Oznites,To Eri, the family of the Erites;17 To Arod, the family of the Arodites,To Arelites, the family of the Arelites:18 These, are the families of the sons of Gad, as to them who were numbered of them,forty thousand and five hundred.19 The sons of Judah, Er and Onan,but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan.20 And so, as to the sons of Judah, by their families, it was found thatTo Shelah, pertained the family of the Shelanites, To Perez, the family of the Perezites,To Zerah, the family of the Zerahites;21 And, as to the sons of Perez, it was found thatTo Hezron, pertained the family of the Hezronites,To Hamul, the family of the Hamulites:22 These, are the families of Judah, as to them who were numbered of them,seventy-six thousand, and five hundred,23 The sons of Issachar, by their families, Unto Tola, pertained the family of the Tolaites,To Puvah, the family of the Puvites;24 To Jashub, the family of the Jashubites,To Shimron, the family of the Shimronites:25 These, are the families of Issachar. as to them who were numbered of them,sixty-four thousand, and three hundred.26 The sons of Zebulun, by their families, To Sered, pertained the family of the Seredites, To Elon, the family of the Elonites,To Jahleel, the family of the Jahleelites:27 These are the families of the Zebulunites as to them who were numbered of them,sixty thousand, and five hundred.28 The sons of Joseph by their families,Manasseh, and Ephraim.29 The sons of Manasseh, To Machir, pertained the family of the Machirites, and, Machir, begat Gilead,To Gilead, pertained the family of the Gileadites.30 These are the sons of Gilead: Iezer, the family of the Iezerites,To Helek, the family of the Helekites;31 And Asriel, the family of the Asrielites; And, Shechem, the family of the Shechemites;32 And Shemida, the family of the Shemidaites; And, Hepher, the family of the Hepherites.33 Now Zelophehad, son of Hepher, had no sons, but only, daughters,and, the names of the daughters of Zelophehad, were Mahlah and Noah, Hoglah Milcah, and Tirzah.34 These, are the families of Manasseh,and, they who were numbered of them,fifty-two thousand, and seven hundred.35 These are the sons of Ephraim by their families, To Shuthelah, pertained the family of the Shuthelahites, To Becher, the family of the Becherites,To Tahan, the family of the Tahanites.36 And, these, are the sons of Shuthelah, To Eran, pertained the family of the Eranites.37 These, are the families of the sons of Ephraim, as to them who were numbered of them,thirty-two thousand, and five hundred, These, are the sons of Joseph by their families.38 The sons of Benjamin by their families, To Bela, pertained the family of the Belaites, To Ashbel, the family of the Ashbelites,To Ahiram, the family of the Ahiramites;39 To Shephupham, the family of the Shuphamites,To Hupham, the family of the Huphamites.40 And the sons of Bela were Ard and Naaman, the family of the Ardites, To Naaman, the family of the Naamites.41 These, are the sons of Benjamin by their families,and they who were numbered of them,were forty-five thousand and six hundred.42 These, are the sons of Dan, by their families: To Shuham, pertained the family of the Shuhamites,These, are the families of Dan by their families:43 All the families of the Shuhamites, as to them who were numbered of them, were, sixty-four thousand, and four hundred.44 The sons of Asher, by their families: To Imnah, pertained the family of the Imnites, To Ishvi, the family of the Ishvites,To Beriah, the family of the Beriites;45 To the sons of Beriah, To Heber, pertained the family of the Heberites, To Malchiel, the family of the Malchielites;46 And, the name of the daughter of Asher, was Serah.47 These, are the families of the sons of Asher as to them who were numbered of them,fifty-three thousand and four hundred.48 The sons of Naphtali, by their families, To Jahzeel, pertained the family of the Jahzeelites; To Guni, the family of the Gunites:49 To Jezer, the family of the Jezerites; To Shillem, the family of the Shillemites.50 These are the families of Naphtali, by their families,and they who were numbered of them, were forty-five thousand and four hundred.51 These, are they who were numbered of the sons of Israel, six hundred and lice thousand,seven hundred and thirty,52 Then spake Yahweh unto Moses, saying:53 Unto these, shall be apportioned the land as an inheritance by the number of names.54 For the large one, thou shalt make large his inheritance, and for the small one, thou shalt make small his inheritance,unto each one, in proportion to them who were numbered of him, shall he given his inheritance.55 Nevertheless by lot, shall the land be apportioned,by the names of the tribes of their fathers, shall they inherit.56 At the bidding of the lot, shall be apportioned his inheritance,between large and small.57 And these, are they who were numbered of the Levites by their families, To Gershon, pertained the family of the Gershonites, To Kohath, the family of the Kohathites; To Merari, the family of the Merarites.58 These, are the families of LeviThe family of the Libnites, The family of the Hebronites, The family of the Mahlites, The family of the Mushites, The family of the Korahites,And, Kohath, begat Amram;59 and the name of the wife of Amram, was Jochebed daughter of Levi, who was born to Levi in Egypt,and she bare to Amram Aaron and Moses, and Miriam their sister:60 And, there were born to Aaron, Nadab and Abihu,Eleazar and Ithamar;61 But Nadab and Abihu died,when they brought near strange fire before Yahweh:62 And they who were numbered of them were found to betwenty-three thousand, all the males from one month old and upwardsfor they had not numbered themselves in the midst of the sons of Israel, because there was given unto them no inheritance, in the midst of the sons of Israel.63 These, are they who were numbered by Moses, and Eleazar, the priest,when they numbered the sons of Israel, in the waste plains of Moab, by Jordan, near Jericho.64 And among these, was there not found a man of them who had been numbered by Moses, and Aaron the priest,when they numbered the sons of Israel in the desert of Sinai.65 For Yahweh had said of them, They shall surely die, in the desert. And there was not left of them a man, save only, Caleb on of Jephunneh, and Joshua son of Nun.

1 Aconteceu, pois, que, depois daquela praga, falou o Senhor a Moisés e a Eleazar, filho de Arão, o sacerdote, dizendo: 2 Tomai a soma de toda a congregação dos filhos de Israel, da idade de vinte anos para cima, segundo as casas de seus pais, todo que, em Israel, vai para o exército. 3 Falaram, pois, Moisés e Eleazar, o sacerdote, aos cabeças de Israel, nas campinas de Moabe, ao pé do Jordão, de Jericó, dizendo: 4 Contai o povo da idade de vinte anos para cima, como o Senhor ordenara a Moisés e aos filhos de Israel, que saíram do Egito.

5 Rúben, o primogênito de Israel; os filhos de Rúben foram Enoque, do qual era a família dos enoquitas; de Palu, a família dos paluítas; 6 de Hezrom, a família dos hezronitas; de Carmi, a família dos carmitas. 7 Estas são as famílias dos rubenitas; e os que foram deles contados foram quarenta e três mil e setecentos e trinta. 8 E o filho de Palu: Eliabe. 9 E os filhos de Eliabe: Nemuel, e Datã, e Abirão; estes, Datã e Abirão, foram os chamados da congregação, que moveram a contenda contra Moisés e contra Arão na congregação de Corá, quando moveram a contenda contra o Senhor; 10 e a terra abriu a sua boca e os tragou com Corá, quando morreu a congregação; quando o fogo consumiu duzentos e cinquenta homens, e foram por sinal. 11 Mas os filhos de Corá não morreram.

12 Os filhos de Simeão, segundo as suas famílias: de Nemuel, a família dos nemuelitas; de Jamim, a família dos jaminitas; de Jaquim, a família dos jaquinitas; 13 de Zerá, a família dos zeraítas; de Saul, a família dos saulitas. 14 Estas são as famílias dos simeonitas, vinte e dois mil e duzentos.

15 Os filhos de Gade, segundo as suas gerações: de Zefom, a família dos zefonitas; de Hagi, a família dos hagitas; de Suni, a família dos sunitas; 16 de Ozni, a família dos oznitas; de Eri, a família dos eritas; 17 de Arodi, a família dos aroditas; de Areli, a família dos arelitas. 18 Estas são as famílias dos filhos de Gade, segundo os que foram deles contados, quarenta mil e quinhentos.

19 Os filhos de Judá: Er e Onã; mas Er e Onã morreram na terra de Canaã. 20 Assim, os filhos de Judá foram segundo as suas famílias: de Selá, a família dos selaítas; de Perez, a família dos perezitas; de Zerá, a família dos zeraítas. 21 E os filhos de Perez foram: de Hezrom, a família dos hezronitas; de Hamul, a família dos hamulitas. 22 Estas são as famílias de Judá, segundo os que foram deles contados, setenta e seis mil e quinhentos.

23 Os filhos de Issacar, segundo as suas famílias, foram: de Tola, a família dos tolaítas; de Puva, a família dos puvitas; 24 de Jasube, a família dos jasubitas; de Sinrom, a família dos sinronitas. 25 Estas são as famílias de Issacar, segundo os que foram deles contados, sessenta e quatro mil e trezentos.

26 Os filhos de Zebulom, segundo as suas famílias, foram: de Serede, a família dos sereditas; de Elom, a família dos elonitas; de Jaleel, a família dos jaleelitas. 27 Estas são as famílias dos zebulonitas, segundo os que foram deles contados, sessenta mil e quinhentos.

28 Os filhos de José, segundo as suas famílias, foram Manassés e Efraim. 29 Os filhos de Manassés foram: de Maquir, a família dos maquiritas; e Maquir gerou a Gileade; de Gileade, a família dos gileaditas. 30 Estes são os filhos de Gileade: de Jezer, a família dos jezeritas; de Heleque, a família dos helequitas; 31 e de Asriel, a família dos asrielitas; e de Siquém, a família dos siquemitas; 32 e de Semida, a família dos semidaítas; e de Héfer, a família dos heferitas. 33 Porém Zelofeade, filho de Héfer, não tinha filhos, senão filhas; e os nomes das filhas de Zelofeade foram: Macla, Noa, Hogla, Milca e Tirza. 34 Estas são as famílias de Manassés; e os que foram deles contados foram cinquenta e dois mil e setecentos.

35 Estes são os filhos de Efraim, segundo as suas famílias: de Sutela, a família dos sutelaítas; de Bequer, a família dos bequeritas; de Taã, a família dos taanitas. 36 E estes são os filhos de Sutela: de Erã, a família dos eranitas. 37 Estas são as famílias dos filhos de Efraim, segundo os que foram deles contados, trinta e dois mil e quinhentos; estes são os filhos de José, segundo as suas famílias.

38 Os filhos de Benjamim, segundo as suas famílias: de Belá, a família dos belaítas; de Asbel, a família dos asbelitas; de Airão, a família dos airamitas; 39 de Sufã, a família dos sufamitas; de Hufã, a família dos hufamitas. 40 E os filhos de Belá foram Arde e Naamã: de Arde, a família dos arditas; de Naamã, a família dos naamanitas. 41 Estes são os filhos de Benjamim, segundo as suas famílias; e os que foram deles contados foram quarenta e cinco mil e seiscentos.

42 Estes são os filhos de Dã, segundo as suas famílias: de Suão, a família dos suamitas; estas são as famílias de Dã, segundo as suas famílias. 43 Todas as famílias dos suamitas, segundo os que foram deles contados foram sessenta e quatro mil e quatrocentos.

44 Os filhos de Aser, segundo as suas famílias, foram: de Imna, a família dos imnaítas; de Isvi, a família dos isvitas; de Berias, a família dos beriaítas. 45 Os filhos de Berias foram: de Héber, a família dos heberitas; de Malquiel, a família dos malquielitas. 46 E o nome da filha de Aser foi Sera. 47 Estas são as famílias dos filhos de Aser, segundo os que foram deles contados, cinquenta e três mil e quatrocentos.

48 Os filhos de Naftali, segundo as suas famílias: de Jazeel, a família dos jazeelitas; de Guni, a família dos gunitas; 49 de Jezer, a família dos jezeritas; de Silém, a família dos silemitas. 50 Estas são as famílias de Naftali, segundo as suas famílias; e os que foram deles contados foram quarenta e cinco mil e quatrocentos.

51 Estes são os contados dos filhos de Israel, seiscentos e um mil e setecentos e trinta.

52 E falou o Senhor a Moisés, dizendo: 53 A estes se repartirá a terra em herança, segundo o número dos nomes. 54 Aos muitos, multiplicarás a sua herança; e, aos poucos, diminuirás a sua herança; a cada qual se dará a sua herança, segundo os que foram deles contados. 55 Todavia, a terra se repartirá por sortes; segundo os nomes das tribos de seus pais, a herdarão. 56 Segundo sair a sorte, se repartirá a herança deles entre os muitos e os poucos.

57 E estes são os que foram contados de Levi, segundo as suas famílias: de Gérson, a família dos gersonitas; de Coate, a família dos coatitas; de Merari, a família dos meraritas. 58 Estas são as famílias de Levi: a família dos libnitas, a família dos hebronitas, a família dos malitas, a família dos musitas, a família dos coraítas; e Coate gerou a Anrão. 59 E o nome da mulher de Anrão foi Joquebede, filha de Levi, a qual nasceu a Levi no Egito; e esta, a Anrão gerou Arão, e Moisés, e Miriã, sua irmã. 60 E a Arão nasceram Nadabe, Abiú, Eleazar e Itamar. 61 Porém Nadabe e Abiú morreram quando trouxeram fogo estranho perante o Senhor. 62 E os que foram deles contados foram vinte e três mil, todo o varão da idade de um mês para cima; porque estes não foram contados entre os filhos de Israel, porquanto lhes não foi dada herança entre os filhos de Israel.

63 Estes são os que foram contados por Moisés e Eleazar, o sacerdote, que contaram os filhos de Israel nas campinas de Moabe, ao pé do Jordão, de Jericó. 64 E entre estes nenhum houve dos que foram contados por Moisés e Arão, o sacerdote, quando contaram aos filhos de Israel no deserto do Sinai. 65 Porque o Senhor dissera deles que certamente morreriam no deserto; e nenhum deles ficou, senão Calebe, filho de Jefoné, e Josué, filho de Num.
