1 And Yahweh spake unto Moses, saying:2 Command the sons of Israel, and thou shalt say unto them, When, ye, are coming into the land of Canaan, this is the land which shall fall unto you, as an inheritance, even the land of Canaan, by the boundaries thereof.3 Ye shall therefore have a south corner, from the desert of Zin, on the side of Edom,so shall ye have a south boundary, from the end of the salt sea, eastward:4 and the boundary shall go round for you from the south towards the cliffs of Akrabbim, then cross over towards Zin, and the extension thereof shall be from the south to Kadesh-barnea, then shall it reach out to Hazar-addar, and cross over towards Azmon;5 then shall the boundary turn round from Azmon towards the ravine of Egypt,and the extension thereof shall be towards the sea.6 And, for a west boundary,ye shall have the great sea, even a boundary, this, shall serve you as west boundary.7 And, this, shall serve you as a north boundary,From the great sea, ye shall draw a line for you to Mount Hor:8 From Mount Hor, ye shall draw a line to the entering in of Hamath,and the extension of the boundary shall be towards Zedad:9 then shall the boundary reach out towards Ziphron, and the extension thereof, be to Hazar-enan. This, shall serve you as a north, boundary.10 Then shall ye draw for yourselves a line, for an east boundary,from Hazar-enan towards Shepham;11 and the boundary shall go down from Shepham towards Riblah, on the east of Ainthen shall the boundary go down and strike on the side of the Sea of Chinnereth, eastward:12 then shall the boundary go down towards the Jordan, and the extension thereof be to the salt sea. This shall be your land by the boundaries thereof round about.13 And Moses commanded the sons of Israel saying,This, is the land, which ye shall inherit by lot, which Yahweh had commanded to be given to the nine tribes and the half tribe.14 For the tribe of the sons of the Reubenites by their ancestral house, and the tribe of the sons of Gad, by their ancestral house, have received, and, the half tribe of Manasseh have received, their inheritance:15 the two tribes, and the half tribe, have received their inheritanceon this side Jordan near Jericho, eastwards, towards sunrise.16 Then spake Yahweh unto Moses, saying:17 These, are the names of the men who shall receive for you the land, as an inheritance, Eleazar, the priest, and Joshua, son of Nun.18 Also, one prince from each tribe, shall ye take to receive the land, as an inheritance.19 These, therefore, are the names of the men,For the tribe of Judah, Caleb son of Jephunneh;20 And, for the tribe of the sons of Simeon, Shemuel son of Ammihud:21 For the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad son of Chislon;22 And, for the tribe of the sons of Dan, a princeBukki, son of Jogli:23 For the sons of Joseph, For the tribe of the sons of Manasseh, a prince,Hanniel son of Ephod;24 And, for the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, a prince,Kemuel, son of Shiphtan;25 And, for the tribe of the sons of Zebulun, a prince,Elizaphan, son of Parnach;26 And, for the tribe of the sons of Issachar, a prince,Paltiel son of Azzan;27 And, for the tribe of the sons of Asher, a prince,Ahihud son of Shelomi:28 And, for the tribe of the sons of Naphtali, a prince,Pedahel, son of Ammihud.29 These, are they whom Yahweh hath commanded to receive for the sons of Israel their inheritance, in the land of Canaan.

1 Falou mais o Senhor a Moisés, dizendo: 2 Dá ordem aos filhos de Israel e dize-lhes: Quando entrardes na terra de Canaã, esta há de ser a terra que vos cairá em herança: a terra de Canaã, segundo os seus termos. 3 A banda do sul vos será desde o deserto de Zim até aos termos de Edom; e o termo do sul vos será desde a extremidade do mar Salgado para a banda do oriente, 4 e este termo vos irá rodeando do sul para a subida de Acrabim e passará até Zim; e as suas saídas serão do sul a Cades-Barneia; e sairá a Hazar-Adar e passará a Azmom; 5 rodeará mais este termo de Azmom até ao rio do Egito; e as suas saídas serão para a banda do mar. 6 Acerca do termo do ocidente, o mar Grande vos será por termo; este vos será o termo do ocidente. 7 E este vos será o termo do norte: desde o mar Grande marcareis até ao monte Hor. 8 Desde o monte Hor, marcareis até à entrada de Hamate; e as saídas deste termo serão até Zedade. 9 E este termo sairá até Zifrom, e as suas saídas serão em Hazar-Enã; este vos será o termo do norte. 10 E por termo da banda do oriente marcareis de Hazar-Enã até Sefã. 11 E este termo descerá desde Sefã até Ribla, para a banda do oriente de Aim; depois, descerá este termo e irá ao longo da borda do mar de Quinerete para a banda do oriente. 12 Descerá também este termo ao longo do Jordão, e as suas saídas serão no mar Salgado; esta vos será a terra, segundo os seus termos em roda.

13 E Moisés deu ordem aos filhos de Israel, dizendo: Esta é a terra que tomareis em sorte por herança, a qual o Senhor mandou dar às nove tribos e à meia tribo. 14 Porque a tribo dos filhos dos rubenitas, segundo a casa de seus pais, e a tribo dos filhos dos gaditas, segundo a casa de seus pais, já receberam; também a meia tribo de Manassés recebeu a sua herança. 15 Já duas tribos e meia tribo receberam a sua herança daquém do Jordão, de Jericó, da banda do oriente, ao nascente.

16 Falou mais o Senhor a Moisés, dizendo: 17 Estes são os nomes dos homens que vos repartirão a terra por herança: Eleazar, o sacerdote, e Josué, filho de Num. 18 Tomareis mais de cada tribo um príncipe, para repartir a terra em herança. 19 E estes são os nomes dos homens: da tribo de Judá, Calebe, filho de Jefoné; 20 e, da tribo dos filhos de Simeão, Samuel, filho de Amiúde; 21 da tribo de Benjamim, Elidade, filho de Quislom; 22 e, da tribo dos filhos de Dã, o príncipe Buqui, filho de Jogli; 23 dos filhos de José, da tribo dos filhos de Manassés, o príncipe Haniel, filho de Éfode; 24 e, da tribo dos filhos de Efraim, o príncipe Quemuel, filho de Siftã; 25 e, da tribo dos filhos de Zebulom, o príncipe Elizafã, filho de Parnaque; 26 e, da tribo dos filhos de Issacar, o príncipe Paltiel, filho de Azã; 27 e, da tribo dos filhos de Aser, o príncipe Aiude, filho de Selomi; 28 e, da tribo dos filhos de Naftali, o príncipe Pedael, filho de Amiúde. 29 Estes são aqueles a quem o Senhor ordenou que repartissem a herança pelos filhos de Israel na terra de Canaã.
