1 Moreover we make known unto you, brethren, the favour of God which hath been given in the assemblies of Macedonia,2 That, in a great testing of tribulation, the superabounding of their joy and their deep destitution, superabounded unto the riches of their liberality;3 That, according to power, I bear witness, and beyond power, of their own accord, ,4 With much exhortation, entreating of us the favour and the fellowship of the ministry which was for the saints;5 And, not merely as we hoped, but, themselves, gave they, first, unto the Lord and unto us through Gods will,6 To the end we should exhort Titus, in order that, according as he before made a beginning, so, he should also complete unto you this favour also.7 But, just as, in everything, ye superabound,in faith, and discourse, and knowledge, and all earnestness, and in the love among you which proceedeth from us, in order that, in this favour also, ye would superabound.8 Not by way of injunction, do I speak, but through, others, earnestness, and, the genuineness of your own love, putting to the test.9 For ye are taking knowledge of the favour of our Lord Jesus Christ ,how that, for your sakes, he became destitutealthough he was, rich, in order that, ye, by his destitution, might be enriched.10 And, a judgment, herein, do I give,for, this, unto you, is profitable,who, indeed, not only of the doing, but of the desiring, made for yourselves a beginning a year ago;11 Howbeit, now, the doing also, complete ye, in order that, even according to the forwardness of the desiring, so, may be the completingout of what ye have.12 For, if the forwardness is set forth, according to what one may have, he is well approved, not according to what one hath not.13 For, not that unto others should be relief, and unto you distress , but, by equality, in the present season, your surplus for their deficiency,14 In order that their surplus may come to be for your deficiency: that there may come about an equality:15 Even as it is writtenHe that16 Thanks, however, unto God!who is putting the same earnestness in your behalf in the heart of Titus,17 In that, though, indeed, the exhortation, he welcomed; yet already being, greatly in earnest, of his own accord, hath he gone forth unto you.18 Howbeit, we also set forward, with him, the brother, whose praise in the Glad Tidings, through all the assemblies:19 Not only so, however, but he hath also been appointed by the assemblies, as a fellow-traveler with us in this favour, which is being ministered by us with a view to the Lords glory and our earnest desire:20 Arranging thislest anyone, upon us, should cast blame, in this munificence which is being ministered by us;21 For we provide things honourable, not only before Lord, but also before men.22 Moreover we have set forward, with them, our brother whom we have proved, in many things, ofttimes, earnest,but, now, much more earnest, by reason of the great confidence towards you.23 Whether as regardeth Titus, he is a partner of mine, and, towards you, a fellow-worker. or our brethren, apostles of assemblies, and Christs glory.24 The proof of your love, therefore, and of our boasting in your behalf, shew ye, unto them, in the face of the assemblies.

1 Também, irmãos, vos fazemos conhecer a graça de Deus dada às igrejas da Macedônia; 2 como, em muita prova de tribulação, houve abundância do seu gozo, e como a sua profunda pobreza superabundou em riquezas da sua generosidade. 3 Porque, segundo o seu poder (o que eu mesmo testifico) e ainda acima do seu poder, deram voluntariamente, 4 pedindo-nos com muitos rogos a graça e a comunicação deste serviço, que se fazia para com os santos. 5 E não somente fizeram como nós esperávamos, mas também a si mesmos se deram primeiramente ao Senhor e depois a nós, pela vontade de Deus; 6 de maneira que exortamos a Tito que, assim como antes tinha começado, assim também acabe essa graça entre vós. 7 Portanto, assim como em tudo sois abundantes na fé, e na palavra, e na ciência, e em toda diligência, e em vosso amor para conosco, assim também abundeis nessa graça.

8 Não digo isso como quem manda, mas para provar, pela diligência dos outros, a sinceridade do vosso amor; 9 porque já sabeis a graça de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, que, sendo rico, por amor de vós se fez pobre, para que, pela sua pobreza, enriquecêsseis. 10 E nisso dou o meu parecer; pois isso vos convém a vós, que desde o ano passado começastes; e não foi só praticar, mas também querer. 11 Agora, porém, completai também o já começado, para que, assim como houve a prontidão de vontade, haja também o cumprimento, segundo o que tendes. 12 Porque, se há prontidão de vontade, será aceita segundo o que qualquer tem e não segundo o que não tem. 13 Mas não digo isso para que os outros tenham alívio, e vós, opressão; 14 mas para igualdade; neste tempo presente, a vossa abundância supra a falta dos outros, para que também a sua abundância supra a vossa falta, e haja igualdade, 15 como está escrito: O que muito colheu não teve de mais; e o que pouco, não teve de menos.

16 Mas graças a Deus, que pôs a mesma solicitude por vós no coração de Tito; 17 pois ele aceitou a exortação e, muito diligente, partiu voluntariamente para vós. 18 E com ele enviamos aquele irmão cujo louvor no evangelho está espalhado em todas as igrejas. 19 E não só isso, mas foi também escolhido pelas igrejas para companheiro da nossa viagem, nessa graça que por nós é ministrada para glória do mesmo Senhor e prontidão do vosso ânimo; 20 evitando isto: que alguém nos vitupere por essa abundância, que por nós é ministrada; 21 pois zelamos o que é honesto, não só diante do Senhor, mas também diante dos homens. 22 Com eles, enviamos também outro nosso irmão, o qual, muitas vezes e em muitas coisas, já experimentamos ser diligente e agora muito mais diligente ainda pela muita confiança que em vós tem. 23 Quanto a Tito, é meu companheiro e cooperador para convosco; quanto a nossos irmãos, são embaixadores das igrejas e glória de Cristo. 24 Portanto, mostrai para com eles, perante a face das igrejas, a prova do vosso amor e da nossa glória acerca de vós.
