1 So then the boundary of the tribe of the sons of Judah, by their families,reached unto the boundary of Edom, the desert of Zin southward, on the extreme south;2 so their south boundary beginneth at the end of the Salt Sea,from the bay that turneth to the south;3 and goeth forth on the south of the cliffs of Akrabbim, and crosseth over to Zin, and goeth up on the south of Kadesh-barnea,and passeth over by Hezron, and goeth up to Addar, and turneth round to Karka;4 and passeth over to Azmon, and goeth forth at the ravine of Egypt, and so the extensions of the boundary are to the sea. This, shall be your south boundary.5 And, a boundary eastward, is the Salt Sea, as far as the end of the Jordan. And, the boundary on the north side, is from the bay of the sea, from the end of the Jordan.6 And the boundary goeth up Beth-hoglah, and passeth over, on the north, by Beth-arabah,and the boundary goeth up by the Stone of Bohan, son of Reuben;7 and the boundary goeth up towards Debir, out of the vale of Achor, then northward, turning unto Gilgal, which is over against the ascent of Adummim, which is on the south side of the ravine,then the boundary passeth over unto the waters of En-shemesh, and so the extensions thereof are unto En-rogel:8 then ascendeth the boundary by the valley of the son of Hinnom, to the side of the Jebusite, on the south, the same, is Jerusalem,and the boundary goeth up unto the top of the mountain which faceth the valley of Hinnom, to the west, which is at the end of the Vale of Giants, northwards;9 and the boundary turneth round, from the top of the mountain, unto the fountain of the waters of Nephtoah, and goeth out unto the cities of Mount Ephron,then the boundary turneth round to Baalah, the same, is Kiriath-jearim;10 then the boundary goeth round from Baalah westward, unto Mount Seir, and passeth over unto the slope of Mount Yearim, on the north, the same, is Chesalon,and descendeth Bethshemesh, and passeth over Timnah;11 then the boundary goeth forth unto the side of Ekron, northward, then the boundary turneth round towards Shikkeron, and crosseth over Mount Baalah, and goeth out at Jabneel,and the extensions of the boundary are to the sea.12 And, as a west boundary, are the great sea and coast. This, is the boundary of the sons of Judah, round about, by their families.13 And, to Caleb, son of Jephunneh, gave he a portion, in the midst of the sons of Judah, at the bidding of Yahweh, by Joshua,even the City of Arba, father of Anak, the same, is Hebron.14 And Caleb dispossessed from thence, the three sons of Anak,Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the descendants of Anak.15 And he went up from thence, against the inhabitants of Debir,now, the name of Debir, formerly, was Kiriath-sepher.16 Then said Caleb, He that smiteth Kiriath-sepher, and captureth it, I will give unto him Achsah, my daughter, to wife.17 And Othniel son of Kenaz, brother of Caleb, captured it,so he gave unto him Achsah, his daughter, to wife.18 And it came to pass, when she came, that she moved him to ask of her father a field, and, when she alighted from off the ass, Caleb said unto herWhat aileth thee?19 And she saidGive me a present, for, dry land, hast thou given me, therefore must thou give me, pools of water. So he gave her upper pools and lower pools.20 This, is the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Judah, by their families.21 And the uttermost cities of the tribe of the sons of Judah, towards the boundary of Edom in the south, were,Kabzeel and Eder, and Jagur,22 and Kinah and Dimonah, and Adadah,23 and Kedesh and Hazor, and Ithnan,24 Ziph and Talem, and Bealoth,25 and Hazor-hadattah and Kerioth-hezron, the same, is Hazor;26 Amam and Shema, and Moladah,27 and Hazar-gaddah and Heshmon, and Beth-pelet.28 and Hazarshual and Beer-sheba, with the hamlets thereof,29 Baalah and Iyyim, and Ezem,30 and Eltolad and Chesil, and Hormah,31 and Ziklag and Madmannah, and Sansannah,32 and Lebaoth and Shilhim, and En-rimmon,all the cities are twenty-nine, with their villages.33 In the lowland,Eshtaol and Zorah, and Ashnah,34 and Zanoah and En-gannim, Tappuah, and Enam;35 Jarmuth, and Adullam, Socoh, and Azekah;36 and Shaaraim, and Adithaim, and Gederah, and Gederothaim,fourteen cities, with their villages.37 Zenan and Hadashah, and Migdal-gad,38 and Dilan and Mizpeh, and Joktheel,39 Lachish and Bozkath, and Eglon,40 and Cabbon and Lahmas, and Chithlish,41 and Gederoth, Beth-dagon and Naamah, and Makkedah,sixteen cities, with their villages.42 Libnah and Ether, and Ashan,43 and Iphtah and Ashnah, and Nezib,44 and Keilah and Achzib, and Mareshah,nine cities, with their villages.45 Ekron with her towns, and her villages.46 From Ekron, even unto the sea,all that were by the side of Ashdod with their villages.47 Ashdod, her towns and her villages. Gaza, her towns and her villages, as far as the ravine of Egypt,and the great sea and coast.48 And in the hill-country,Shamir and Jattir, and Socoh,49 and Dannah and Kiriath-sannah, the same, is Debir,50 and Anab and Eshtemoh, and Anim,51 and Goshen and Holon, and Giloh,eleven cities, with their villages.52 Arab and Rumah and Eshan,53 and Janim and Beth-tappuah and Aphekah,54 and Humtah, and Kiriath-arba, the same, is Hebron, and Zior,nine cities, with their villages.55 Maon, Carmel, and Ziph and Jutah,56 and Jezreel and Jokdeam, and Zanoah,57 Kain, Gibeah and Timnah,ten cities, with their villages.58 Halhul, Beth-zur, and Gedor,59 and Maarath and Beth-anoth, and Eltekon,six cities, with their villages.60 Kiriath-baal, the same, is Kiriath-jearim, and Rabbah,two cities, with their villages.61 In the desert,Beth-arabah, Middin, and Secacah,62 and Nibshan and the City of Salt, and En-gedi,six cities, with their villages.63 But, as for the Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the sons of Judah could not dispossess them,so the Jebusites have dwelt with the sons of Judah, in Jerusalem, until this day.

1 E a sorte da tribo dos filhos de Judá, segundo as suas famílias, caiu para o sul, até ao termo de Edom, até o deserto de Zim, até à extremidade da banda do sul. 2 E foi o seu termo para o sul, desde a ribeira do mar Salgado, desde a baía que olha para o sul; 3 e sai para o sul, até à subida de Acrabim, e passa a Zim, e sobe do sul a Cades-Barneia, e passa por Hezrom, e sobe a Adar, e rodeia a Carca; 4 e passa Azmom, e sai ao ribeiro do Egito, e as saídas deste termo irão até ao mar; este será o vosso termo da banda do sul. 5 O termo, porém, para o oriente será o mar Salgado até à extremidade do Jordão; e o termo para o norte será da baía do mar, desde a extremidade do Jordão. 6 E este termo subirá até Bete-Hogla, e passará do norte a Bete-Arabá, e este termo subirá até à pedra de Boã, filho de Rúben. 7 Subirá mais este termo a Debir, desde o vale de Acor, e olhará pelo norte para Gilgal, a qual está à subida de Adumim, que está para o sul do ribeiro; então, este termo passará até às águas de En-Semes; e as suas saídas estarão da banda de En-Rogel. 8 E este termo passará pelo vale do Filho de Hinom, da banda dos jebuseus do sul (esta é Jerusalém) e subirá este termo até ao cume do monte que está diante do vale de Hinom para o ocidente, que está no fim do vale dos Refains, da banda do norte. 9 Então, este termo irá desde a altura do monte até à fonte das águas de Neftoa; e sairá até às cidades do monte de Efrom; irá mais este termo até Baalá; esta é Quiriate-Jearim. 10 Então, tornará este termo desde Baalá para o ocidente, até às montanhas de Seir, e passará ao lado do monte de Jearim da banda do norte; esta é Quesalom; e descerá a Bete-Semes, e passará por Timna. 11 Sairá este termo mais ao lado de Ecrom para o norte, e este termo irá a Siquerom, e passará o monte de Baalá, e sairá em Jabneel; e as saídas deste termo eram no mar. 12 Será, porém, o termo da banda do ocidente o mar Grande e o seu termo; este é o termo dos filhos de Judá ao redor, segundo as suas famílias.

13 Mas a Calebe, filho de Jefoné, deu uma parte no meio dos filhos de Judá, conforme o dito do Senhor a Josué, a saber, a cidade de Arba, pai de Anaque; este é Hebrom. 14 E expeliu Calebe dali os três filhos de Anaque: Sesai, e Aimã, e Talmai, gerados de Anaque. 15 E dali subiu aos habitantes de Debir; e fora, dantes, o nome de Debir Quiriate-Sefer. 16 E disse Calebe: Quem ferir a Quiriate-Sefer e a tomar, lhe darei a minha filha Acsa por mulher. 17 Tomou-a, pois, Otniel, filho de Quenaz, irmão de Calebe, e este deu-lhe a sua filha Acsa por mulher. 18 E sucedeu que, vindo ela a ele, o persuadiu que pedisse um campo a seu pai; e ela se apeou do jumento; então, Calebe lhe disse: Que é o que tens? 19 E ela disse: Dá-me uma bênção, pois me deste terra seca; dá-me também fontes de águas. Então, lhe deu as fontes superiores e as fontes inferiores.

20 Esta é a herança da tribo dos filhos de Judá, segundo as suas famílias. 21 São, pois, as cidades da extremidade da tribo dos filhos de Judá até ao termo de Edom para o sul: Cabzeel, e Éder, e Jagur, 22 e Quiná, e Dimona, e Adada, 23 e Quedes, e Hazor, e Itnã, 24 e Zife, e Telém, e Bealote, 25 e Hazor-Hadata, e Quiriote-Hezrom (que é Hazor), 26 e Amã, e Sema, e Molada, 27 e Hazar-Gada, e Hesmom, e Bete-Palete, 28 e Hasar-Sual, e Berseba, e Biziotiá, 29 e Baalá, e Iim, e Ezém, 30 e Eltolade, e Quesil, e Horma, 31 e Ziclague, e Madmana, e Sansana, 32 e Lebaote, e Silim, e Aim, e Rimom: todas as cidades e as suas aldeias; vinte e nove ao todo.

33 Nas planícies: Estaol, e Zorá, e Asná, 34 e Zanoa, e En-Ganim, e Tapua, e Enã, 35 e Jarmute, e Adulão, e Socó, e Azeca, 36 e Saaraim, e Aditaim, e Gedera, e Gederotaim: catorze cidades e as suas aldeias.

37 Zenã, e Hadasa, e Migdal-Gade, 38 e Dileã, e Mispa, e Jocteel, 39 e Laquis, e Boscate, e Eglom, 40 e Cabom, e Laamás, e Quitlis, 41 e Gederote, e Bete-Dagom, e Naamá, e Maquedá: dezesseis cidades e as suas aldeias.

42 Libna, e Eter, e Asã, 43 e Iftá, e Asná, e Nezibe, 44 e Queila, e Aczibe, e Maressa: nove cidades e as suas aldeias.

45 Ecrom, e os lugares da sua jurisdição, e as suas aldeias; 46 desde Ecrom até ao mar, todas as que estão da banda de Asdode e as suas aldeias.

47 Asdode, e os lugares da sua jurisdição, e as suas aldeias; Gaza, e os lugares da sua jurisdição, e as suas aldeias, até ao rio do Egito, e o mar Grande, e o seu termo.

48 E nas montanhas: Samir, e Jatir, e Socó, 49 e Daná, e Quiriate-Sana, que é Debir, 50 e Anabe, e Estemoa, e Anim, 51 e Gósen, e Holom, e Gilo: onze cidades e as suas aldeias.

52 Arabe, e Dumá, e Esã, 53 e Janim, e Bete-Tapua, e Afeca, 54 e Hunta, e Quiriate-Arba ( que é Hebrom), e Zior: nove cidades e as suas aldeias.

55 Maom, e Carmelo, e Zife, e Jutá, 56 e Jezreel, e Jocdeão, e Zanoa, 57 e Caim, e Gibeá, e Timna: dez cidades e as suas aldeias.

58 Halul, e Bete-Zur, e Gedor, 59 e Maarate, e Bete-Anote, e Eltecom: seis cidades e as suas aldeias. 60 Quiriate-Baal ( que é Quiriate-Jearim) e Rabá: duas cidades e as suas aldeias.

61 No deserto: Bete-Arabá, e Midim, e Secaca, 62 e Nibsã, e a Cidade do Sal, e En-Gedi: seis cidades e as suas aldeias.

63 Não puderam, porém, os filhos de Judá expelir os jebuseus que habitavam em Jerusalém; assim, habitaram os jebuseus com os filhos de Judá em Jerusalém até ao dia de hoje.
