1 Then he showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb2 through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.3 There shall no more be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and his servants shall worship him;4 they shall see his face, and his name shall be on their foreheads.5 And night shall be no more; they need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they shall reign for ever and ever.6 And he said to me, "These words are trustworthy and true. And the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent his angel to show his servants what must soon take place.7 And behold, I am coming soon." Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.8 I John am he who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed them to me;9 but he said to me, "You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brethren the prophets, and with those who keep the words of this book. Worship God."10 And he said to me, "Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near.11 Let the evildoer still do evil, and the filthy still be filthy, and the righteous still do right, and the holy still be holy."12 "Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense, to repay every one for what he has done.13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end."14 Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and that they may enter the city by the gates.15 Outside are the dogs and sorcerers and fornicators and murderers and idolaters, and every one who loves and practices falsehood.16 "I Jesus have sent my angel to you with this testimony for the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright morning star."17 The Spirit and the Bride say, "Come." And let him who hears say, "Come." And let him who is thirsty come, let him who desires take the water of life without price.18 I warn every one who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if any one adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book,19 and if any one takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.20 He who testifies to these things says, "Surely I am coming soon." 1 O anjo também me mostrou o rio da água da vida, brilhante como cristal, que sai do trono de Deus e do Cordeiro 2 e que passa no meio da rua principal da cidade. Em cada lado do rio está a árvore da vida, que dá doze frutas por ano, isto é, uma por mês. E as suas folhas servem para curar as nações. 3 E não haverá na cidade nada que esteja debaixo da maldição de Deus.

O trono de Deus e do Cordeiro estará na cidade, e os seus servos o adorarão. 4 Verão o seu rosto, e na testa terão escrito o nome de Deus. 5 Ali não haverá mais noite, e não precisarão nem da luz de candelabros nem da luz do sol, pois o Senhor Deus brilhará sobre eles. E reinarão para todo o sempre.

6 Então o anjo me disse:

— Essas palavras são verdadeiras e merecem confiança. O Senhor Deus, que dá o seu Espírito aos profetas, enviou o seu anjo para mostrar aos seus servos as coisas que precisam acontecer logo.

7 — Escutem! — diz Jesus. — Eu venho logo! Felizes os que obedecem às palavras proféticas deste livro!

8 Eu, João, ouvi e vi todas essas coisas. E, quando acabei de ouvir e ver, caí de joelhos aos pés do anjo que me mostrou essas coisas e ia adorá-lo. 9 Mas ele me disse:

— Não faça isso! Pois eu sou servo de Deus, assim como são você e os seus irmãos, os profetas, e todas as pessoas que obedecem às palavras deste livro. Adore a Deus!

10 E o anjo continuou:

— Não faça segredo das palavras proféticas deste livro, pois o tempo de acontecerem essas coisas está perto. 11 Quem é mau, que continue a fazer o mal, e quem é imundo, que continue a ser imundo. Quem é bom, que continue a fazer o bem, e quem é dedicado a Deus, que continue a ser dedicado a Deus.

12 — Escutem! — diz Jesus. — Eu venho logo! Vou trazer comigo as minhas recompensas, para dá-las a cada um de acordo com o que tem feito. 13 Eu sou o Alfa e o Ômega, o Primeiro e o Último, o Princípio e o Fim.

14 Felizes as pessoas que lavam as suas roupas, pois assim terão o direito de comer a fruta da árvore da vida e de entrar na cidade pelos seus portões! 15 Mas fora da cidade estão os que cometem pecados nojentos, os feiticeiros, os imorais e os assassinos, os que adoram ídolos e os que gostam de mentir por palavras e ações.

16 — Eu, Jesus, enviei o meu anjo para anunciar essas coisas a vocês nas igrejas . Eu sou o famoso descendente do rei Davi. Sou a brilhante estrela da manhã.

17 O Espírito e a Noiva dizem:

— Venha!

Aquele que ouve isso diga também:

— Venha!

Aquele que tem sede venha. E quem quiser receba de graça da água da vida.

18 Eu, João, aviso solenemente aos que ouvem as palavras proféticas deste livro: se alguma pessoa acrescentar a elas alguma coisa, Deus acrescentará ao castigo dela as pragas descritas neste livro. 19 E, se alguma pessoa tirar alguma coisa das palavras proféticas deste livro, Deus tirará dela as bênçãos descritas neste livro, isto é, a sua parte da fruta da árvore da vida e também a sua parte da Cidade Santa.

20 Aquele que dá testemunho de tudo isso diz:

— Certamente venho logo!

Amém! Vem, Senhor Jesus!

21 E que a graça do Senhor Jesus esteja com todos.
