som Herren har talat

mot er, Israels barn,

mot hela det släkte jag fört upp

ur Egyptens land.

Så har han sagt:

av alla jordens släkten.

Därför ska jag också straffa er

för alla era synder.

3 Vandrar två tillsammans

utan att de kommit överens?

4 Ryter ett lejon i skogen

utan att det funnit något rov?

Morrar ett ungt lejon i kulan

utan att det har tagit byte?

5 Fastnar en fågel i fällan på marken

utan att snaran är gillrad för den?

Slår en fälla upp från marken

utan att fånga något?

6 *Jes 31:2, 45:7, Jer 11:11, Klag 3:38, Mika 1:12. Blåser man i basun i en stad

utan att folket blir förskräckt?

Händer det en olycka i en stad

utan att Herren har vållat den?

utan att uppenbara sin hemlighet

för sina tjänare profeterna.

8 *Jer 20:7f. När lejonet ryter,

vem skulle då inte bli rädd?

När Herren Gud talar,

vem skulle då inte profetera?

9 *Amos 4:1, 6:1. Ropa ut över borgarna i Ashdod

och över borgarna

i Egyptens land,

säg: Samla er på Samarias berg*3:9Samarias bergNordrikets huvudstad omgavs liksom Jerusalem av höga berg.

och se den stora förvirringen där

och förtrycket mitt ibland dem.

10 *Ps 11:5, Hab 1:2. De förstår inte att göra det rätta,

säger Herren,

de som samlar våld och fördärv

i sina borgar.

11 Därför säger Herren Gud:

riva ditt starka fäste

och plundra dina borgar.

12 *1 Sam 17:34f, Amos 6:4. Så säger Herren:

Som herden räddar ur lejonets gap

ett par benpipor*3:12räddar … benpiporBitar av ett rivet får fungerade som bevis på en vilddjursattack och befriade därför herden från ersättningsskyldighet (2 Mos 22:13).

eller en bit av ett öra,

så ska Israels folk räddas,

de som sitter i Samaria

på kanten av sina divaner

och på bäddar av damast.

13 Hör och vittna mot Jakobs hus,

säger Herren,

Herren Gud Sebaot:

så att altarhornen huggs av

och faller till marken.

15 *2 Kung 22:39, Jer 36:22, Amos 6:4. Jag ska slå både vinterhus

och många hus ska sopas bort,

säger Herren.
