Var och en av oss ska tjäna sin nästa till hans bästa och hans uppbyggelse. 3 Kristus tjänade ju inte sig själv, utan som det står skrivet: Dina smädares smädelser föll över mig.*15:3 Ps 69:10.

4 *Rom 4:23f, 1 Kor 10:11, 2 Tim 3:16. Allt som har skrivits tidigare är skrivet till vår undervisning, för att vi ska bevara vårt hopp genom den uthållighet och tröst som Skrifterna ger. 5 *Rom 12:16, 1 Kor 1:10, Fil 2:2. Må uthållighetens och tröstens Gud hjälpa er att vara eniga med varandra efter Kristi Jesu vilja, 6 *Apg 1:14, 4:24. så att ni alla med en mun prisar vår Herre Jesu Kristi Gud och Far.

7 *Rom 14:1f. Ta därför emot varandra, så som Kristus har tagit emot er till Guds ära. 8 *Matt 15:24, Apg 3:25f. Vad jag vill säga är att Kristus har blivit de omskurnas tjänare för att visa Guds trofasthet och bekräfta löftena till fäderna, 9 *2 Sam 22:50, Rom 11:30. och att hedningarna har fått prisa Gud för hans barmhärtighet, som det står skrivet: Därför vill jag tacka dig bland hednafolken och lovsjunga ditt namn.*15:9 Ps 18:50.10 Det står också: Jubla, ni hednafolk, tillsammans med hans folk.*15:10 5 Mos 32:43.11 Och på ett annat ställe: Lova Herren, alla hednafolk, prisa honom, alla folk.*15:11 Ps 117:1.12 Och vidare säger Jesaja: Ishais rot, han som står upp för att regera över folken, på honom ska hednafolken hoppas.*15:12 Jes 11:10 (Septuaginta).13 *Rom 14:17. Må nu hoppets Gud fylla er med all glädje och frid i tron, så att ni överflödar i hoppet genom den helige Andes kraft.

14 *2 Petr 1:12. Mina bröder, för min del är jag övertygad om att ni själva är fyllda av godhet och uppfyllda av all kunskap och att ni också kan förmana varandra. 15 *Rom 12:3. 17 *1 Kor 1:31. Alltså har jag en ära i Kristus Jesus i min tjänst inför Gud. 18 *Rom 16:26, 2 Kor 3:5. 20 *2 Kor 10:15f. Jag har satt en ära i att förkunna evangeliet där Kristi namn ännu inte är känt, så att jag inte bygger på en grund som någon annan har lagt. 21 Det står ju skrivet: De som inte har fått budskapet om honom ska se, och de som inte har hört ska förstå.*15:21 Jes 52:15 (Septuaginta).

22 *Rom 1:13. Det är därför som jag många gånger har varit förhindrad att komma till er. 23 *Rom 1:10f. Men nu har jag inte längre någon uppgift i de här regionerna, och jag har längtat i många år efter att besöka er 24 *1 Kor 16:6. när jag reser till Spanien. Jag hoppas få träffa er på genomresan och bli utrustad för resan dit, efter att först en tid ha haft glädjen att vara tillsammans med er.

25 *Apg 19:21, 20:22, 24:17. Men nu reser jag till Jerusalem med hjälpen till de heliga. 26 *1 Kor 16:1f, 2 Kor 8:1f, Gal 2:10. Makedonien och Achaia har nämligen bestämt sig för att göra en insamling till de fattiga bland de heliga i Jerusalem. 27 *1 Kor 9:11, Gal 6:6. Så har de bestämt, och de står också i skuld till dem. För om hedningarna har fått del i deras andliga goda, så är de också skyldiga att betjäna dem med sitt materiella goda. 28 När jag har slutfört detta och på ett säkert sätt överlämnat den gåvan*15:28gåvanOrdagrant: "frukten". Dvs resultatet av insamlingen. till dem ska jag resa till Spanien och besöka er på vägen. 29 *Rom 1:11. Och jag vet att när jag kommer till er, så kommer jag med Kristi välsignelse i fullt mått.

Jag uppmanar er, bröder, för vår Herre Jesu Kristi skull och för den kärlek som Anden ger, att kämpa tillsammans med mig genom att be till Gud för mig. 31 *2 Tess 3:1f. Be att jag blir räddad från dem i Judeen som inte tror och att hjälpen jag har med mig till Jerusalem blir väl mottagen av de heliga. 32 *Rom 1:10, Jak 4:15. Då ska jag med glädje komma till er, om Gud vill, och vila ut tillsammans med er.

For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister unto them in carnal things. 28 When therefore I have performed this, and have sealed to them this fruit, I will come by you into Spain. 29 And I am sure that, when I come unto you, I shall come in the fulness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ.

30 Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me; 31 That I may be delivered from them that do not believe in Judaea; and that my service which I have for Jerusalem may be accepted of the saints; 32 That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed. 33 Now the God of peace be with you all.
