1 Estas são as gerações de Sem, Cão e Jafé, filhos de Noé; e a estes nasceram filhos depois do dilúvio.2 Os filhos de Jafé são: Gômer, Magogue, Madai, Javã, Tubal, Meseque e Tiras.3 Os filhos de Gômer: Asquenaz, Rifá e Togarma.4 Os filhos de Javã: Elisá, Társis, Quitim e Dodanim.5 Por estes foram repartidas as ilhas das nações nas suas terras, cada qual segundo a sua língua, segundo as suas famílias, entre as suas nações.6 Os filhos de Cão: Cuxe, Mizraim, Pute e Canaã.7 Os filhos de Cuxe: Sebá, Havilá, Sabtá, Raamá e Sabtecá; e os filhos de Raamá: Sabá e Dedã.8 Cuxe gerou a Ninrode, que começou a ser poderoso na terra.9 Ele era poderoso caçador diante de Jeová; pelo que se diz: Como Ninrode, poderoso caçador diante de Jeová.10 O princípio de seu reino foi Babel, Ereque, Acade e Calné, na terra de Sinear.11 Daquela terra saiu ele para a Assíria, e edificou Nínive, Reobote-Ir, Calá12 e Kesen entre Nínive e Calá (esta é a grande cidade).13 Mizraim gerou a Ludim, Anamim, Leabim, Naftuim,14 Patrusim, Casluim (donde saíram os filisteus) e Caftorim.15 Canaã gerou a Sidom, seu primogênito, e a Hete,16 e ao jebuseu, o amorreu, o girgaseu,17 o heveu, o arqueu, o sineu,18 o arvadeu, o zemareu e o hamateu; e depois se espalharam as famílias dos cananeus.19 Era o termo dos cananeus desde Sidom, no caminho de Gerar, até Gaza; e no caminho de Sodoma, Gomorra, Admá e Zeboim, até Lasa.20 Estes são os filhos de Cão segundo as suas famílias, segundo as suas línguas, nas suas terras, nas suas nações.21 A Sem, que foi pai de todos os filhos de Éber e irmão mais velho de Jafé, a ele também nasceram filhos.22 Os filhos de Sem: Elão, Assur, Arfaxade, Ludfe e Arã.23 Os filhos de Arã: Uz, Hul, Géter e Más.24 Arfaxade gerou a Salá, e Salá gerou a Éber.25 A Éber nasceram dois filhos: o nome de um foi Pelegue, porque nos seus dias foi dividida a terra; e o nome de seu irmão foi Joctã.26 Joctã gerou a Almodá, Salefe, Hazarmavé, Jerá,27 Hadorão, Uzal, Dicla,28 Obal, Abimael, Sabá,29 Ofir, Havilá e Jobabe: todos estes foram filhos de Joctã.30 Foi a sua habitação desde Messa, no caminho de Sefar, monte do Oriente.31 Estes são os filhos de Sem segundo as suas famílias, segundo as suas línguas, nas suas terras, segundo as suas nações.32 Estas são as famílias dos filhos de Noé segundo as suas gerações, nas suas nações: e destes foram disseminadas as nações na terra depois do dilúvio.

The sons of Regma: Saba and Dadan.8 Now Chus begot Nemrod: he began to be mighty on earth.9 And he was a stout hunter before the Lord. Hence came a proverb: Even as Nemrod the stout hunter before the Lord.10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babylon, and Arach, and Achad, and Chalanne in the land of Sennaar.11 Out of that land came forth Assur, and built Ninive, and the streets of the city, and Chale.12 Resen also between Ninive and Chale: this is the great city.13 And Mesraim begot Ludim, and Anamim, and Laabim, Nepthuim,14 And Phetrusim, and Chasluim; of whom came forth the Philistines, and the Capthorim.15 And Chanaan begot Sidon, his firstborn, the Hethite,16 And the Jebusite, and the Amorrhite, and the Gergesite,17 The Hevite and the Aracite: the Sinite,18 And the Aradian, the Samarite, and the Hamathite: and afterwards the families of the Chanaanites were spread abroad.19 And the limits of Chanaan were from Sidon as one comes to Gerara even to Gaza, until thou enter Sodom and Gomorrha, and Adama, and Seboim even to Lesa.20 These are the children of Cham in their kindreds, and tongues, and generations, and lands, and nations.21 Of Sem also, the father of all children of Heber, the elder brother of Japheth, sons were born.22 The sons of Sem: Elam and Assur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.23 The sons of Aram: Us and Hull, and Gether: and Mess.24 But Arphaxad begot Sale, of whom was born Heber.25 And to Heber were born two sons: the name of the one was Phaleg, because in his days the earth was divided: and his brother's name Jectan.26 Which Jectan begot Elmodad, and Saleph, and Asarmoth, Jare,27 And Anduram, and Uzal, and Decla,28 And Ebal, and Abimael, Saba,29 And Ophir, and Hevila, and Jobab.30 And their dwelling was from Messa as we go on as far as Sephar, a mountain in the east.31 These are the children of Sem according to their kindreds and tongues, and countries in their nations.32 These are the families of Noe, according to their peoples and nations. By these were the nations divided on the earth after the flood.
