Ezequiel 3

1 Disse-me mais: Filho do homem, come o que achares; come *Ez 3.9este rolo e vai falar à casa de Israel. 2 Eu *Jr 25.17abri, pois, a minha boca, e ele me deu a comer o rolo. 3 Então, me disse: Filho do homem, dá de comer ao teu ventre *Jr 6.11;20.9e enche as tuas entranhas deste rolo que eu te dou. Eu o *Jr 15.16comi; e ele era, na minha boca, doce *Sl 19.10;119.103;Ap 10.9-10como o mel.

A comissão de profeta

4 Disse-me ainda: Filho do homem, *Ez 3.11;Ez 2.3,7;Mt 10.5-6vai ter com a casa de Israel e, com as minhas palavras, fala a eles. 5 Pois *Jn 1.2;At 14.11;26.17não és enviado a um povo de *Is 28.11;33.19estranho falar e de linguagem difícil, mas à casa de Israel; 6 não a muitos povos de estranho falar e de linguagem difícil, cujas palavras não possas entender. Certamente, se eu te enviasse aos tais, eles *Jn 3.5-10;Mt 11.21;At 13.46-48te escutariam. 7 A casa de Israel, porém, *1Sm 8.7;Jo 15.20,23não te quer escutar, porque não me quer escutar a mim. Pois toda a casa de Israel é duma *Ez 3.4;Is 48.4;Jr 3.3fronte desavergonhada e dum coração obstinado. 8 Eis que fiz *Jr 1.18;15.20duro o teu rosto contra os seus rostos e dura a tua fronte, contra as suas frontes. 9 Fiz a tua fronte como *Zc 7.12diamante, mais dura do que a pederneira. *Ez 3.6;Is 41.10,14Não tenhas medo deles, nem te assustes com os seus semblantes, ainda que são casa rebelde. 10 Disse-me mais: Filho do homem, mete no teu coração *Ez 3.1-3;Ez 2.8;Jó 22.22todas as minhas palavras que eu te falar e ouve com os teus ouvidos. 11 Vai ter com os *Ez 3.15;Ez 11.24-25do cativeiro, com os filhos do teu povo, e fala com eles, e dize-lhes: Assim diz o Senhor Deus; *Ez 3.27;Ez 2.5quer queiram ouvir quer não queiram.

12 Então, o *Ez 3.14;Ez 8.3;At 8.39Espírito me levantou, e ouvi por detrás de mim a voz de grande *At 2.2estrondo dizer: Bendita seja *Ez 3.23;Ez 1.28;9.3a glória de Jeová desde a sua morada! 13 Eu ouvi *Ez 1.24;10.5o ruído das asas das criaturas viventes, quando tocavam uma na outra, e o ruído *Ez 1.15;10.16-17das rodas ao lado delas, o ruído de grande estrondo. 14 Assim, me levantou *Ez 3.12o Espírito e me levou; eu me fui *Jr 6.11amargurado, *Jr 20.9na indignação do meu espírito, *Ez 3.22;Ez 1.3;8.1e a mão de Jeová era forte sobre mim. 15 Então, fui a Tel-Abibe, ao lugar onde habitavam, ter com os do cativeiro, os quais habitavam junto ao *Ez 1.1Quebar, e, *Jó 2.13por sete dias, sentei-me ali atônito no meio deles.

O atalaia de Israel

16 *Jr 42.7Passados sete dias, veio a mim a palavra de Jeová, dizendo: 17 Filho do homem, eu te dei por *Ez 33.7-9;Is 52.8;56.10;62.6;Jr 6.17atalaia à casa de Israel; ouve, pois, da minha boca a palavra *2Cr 19.10;Is 58.1;Hc 2.1e avisa-os da minha parte. 18 Quando eu disser ao ímpio: *Gn 2.17Certamente morrerás; *Ez 3.20;Ez 33.6,8se não o avisares, nem falares para avisar ao ímpio que se desvie do seu mau caminho, a fim de salvares a sua vida, morrerá esse ímpio na sua iniquidade, mas o seu sangue, da tua mão o requererei. 19 Contudo, *Ez 33.3,9;2Rs 17.13-14se tu avisares o ímpio, e ele não se converter da sua maldade, nem do seu mau caminho, morrerá ele na sua iniquidade; *Ez 14.14,20;At 18.6;1Tm 4.16tu, porém, livraste a tua alma. 20 Demais, *Ez 18.24;33.18;Sl 125.5;Sf 1.6quando o justo se desviar da sua justiça e cometer a iniquidade, e eu puser diante dele *Ez 14.3,7-9;Is 8.14;Jr 6.21uma pedra de tropeço, ele morrerá; porque *Ez 3.18não o avisaste, morrerá no seu pecado, *Ez 18.24;33.13e não serão lembradas as suas ações de justiça que tem praticado; mas o seu *Ez 3.18sangue, da tua mão o requererei. 21 Todavia, *At 20.31se tu avisares o justo para que o justo não peque, e ele não pecar, certamente, viverá, porque recebeu o aviso; *Ez 3.19e tu livraste a tua alma.

22 *Ez 3.14;Ez 1.3;37.1A mão de Jeová estava ali sobre mim; e ele me disse: Levanta-te, sai ao *Ez 8.4vale, *At 9.6e lá falarei contigo. 23 Então, me levantei e saí ao vale. Eis que estava ali *Ez 1.28;At 7.55a glória de Jeová, como a glória que vi junto ao *Ez 1.1,3rio Quebar; e *Ez 1.28caí com o rosto em terra. 24 *Ez 2.2O Espírito entrou em mim e pôs-me sobre os meus pés; ele falou comigo e me disse: Vai e encerra-te dentro da tua casa. 25 Mas, quanto a ti, filho do homem, eis que *Ez 4.8porão sobre ti cordas e com elas te ligarão, e tu não sairás por entre eles. 26 Farei que a tua língua se pegue ao teu paladar, ficarás *Ez 24.27;33.22;Sl 39.2;Lc 1.20-22mudo e não lhes servirás de *Os 4.17;Am 8.11-12repreendedor. Pois são casa rebelde. 27 Mas, quando eu falar contigo, *Ez 29.21;33.22;Êx 4.11-12abrirei a tua boca, e tu lhes dirás: Assim diz o Senhor Deus: *Ez 3.11;Ez 2.5,7O que ouve ouça; e o que deixa de ouvir deixa. Pois são *Ez 3.9,26casa rebelde.

1 Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, eat that thou findest; eat this roll, and go speak unto the house of Israel. 2 So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat that roll. 3 And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.

4 And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them. 5 For thou art not sent to a people of a strange speech and of an hard language, but to the house of Israel;*3.5 of a…: Heb. deep of lip, and heavy of tongue 6 Not to many people of a strange speech and of an hard language, whose words thou canst not understand. Surely, had I sent thee to them, they would have hearkened unto thee.*3.6 of a…: Heb. deep of lip, and heavy of language*3.6 Surely…: or, If I had sent thee, etc. would they not have hearkened unto thee? 7 But the house of Israel will not hearken unto thee; for they will not hearken unto me: for all the house of Israel are impudent and hardhearted.*3.7 impudent…: Heb. stiff of forehead, and hard of heart 8 Behold, I have made thy face strong against their faces, and thy forehead strong against their foreheads. 9 As an adamant harder than flint have I made thy forehead: fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house. 10 Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, all my words that I shall speak unto thee receive in thine heart, and hear with thine ears. 11 And go, get thee to them of the captivity, unto the children of thy people, and speak unto them, and tell them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear. 12 Then the spirit took me up, and I heard behind me a voice of a great rushing, saying, Blessed be the glory of the LORD from his place. 13 I heard also the noise of the wings of the living creatures that touched one another, and the noise of the wheels over against them, and a noise of a great rushing.*3.13 touched: Heb. kissed 14 So the spirit lifted me up, and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the LORD was strong upon me.*3.14 in bitterness: Heb. bitter*3.14 heat: Heb. hot anger

15 Then I came to them of the captivity at Tel-abib, that dwelt by the river of Chebar, and I sat where they sat, and remained there astonished among them seven days.

16 And it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 17 Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. 18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. 19 Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul. 20 Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.*3.20 righteousness which: Heb. righteousnesses 21 Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.

22 And the hand of the LORD was there upon me; and he said unto me, Arise, go forth into the plain, and I will there talk with thee. 23 Then I arose, and went forth into the plain: and, behold, the glory of the LORD stood there, as the glory which I saw by the river of Chebar: and I fell on my face. 24 Then the spirit entered into me, and set me upon my feet, and spake with me, and said unto me, Go, shut thyself within thine house. 25 But thou, O son of man, behold, they shall put bands upon thee, and shall bind thee with them, and thou shalt not go out among them: 26 And I will make thy tongue cleave to the roof of thy mouth, that thou shalt be dumb, and shalt not be to them a reprover: for they are a rebellious house.*3.26 a reprover: Heb. a man reproving 27 But when I speak with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; He that heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear: for they are a rebellious house.
