Mas repele os desejos dos perversos.4 Torna-se pobre aquele que tem a mão remissa, Mas a mão do diligente enriquece.5 Quem ajunta no verão é um filho sábio, Mas quem dorme no tempo da ceifa é um filho que faz envergonhar.6 Bênçãos caem sobre a cabeça do justo, Mas a violência cobre a boca dos perversos.7 A memória do justo é abençoada, Mas o nome dos perversos apodrecerá.8 Quem é sábio de coração recebe mandamento; Mas quem é insensato de lábios, cairá.9 Quem anda em integridade, anda seguro; Mas o que perverte os seus caminhos, será conhecido.10 Quem pisca os olhos, é causa de desgosto; E quem é insensato de lábios cairá.11 A boca do justo é fonte de vida, Mas a violência cobre a boca dos perversos.12 O ódio excita contendas, Mas a caridade cobre todas as transgressões.13 Nos lábios do entendido acha-se a sabedoria, Mas a vara é para aquele que é falto de entendimento,14 Os sábios entesouram o conhecimento. Mas a boca do insensato é destruição iminente.15 Os bens do rico são a sua cidade forte, A pobreza dos pobres é a sua destruição.16 O trabalho do justo tende para a vida, A renda do perverso, para o pecado17 Quem observa a instrução, está no caminho da vida; Mas aquele que abandona a repreensão, anda errado.18 Quem encobre o ódio, tem lábios mentirosos; E aquele que espalha a calúnia, é louco.19 Na multidão de palavras não falta transgressão; Mas quem refreia os seus lábios, procede sabiamente.20 A língua do justo é prata escolhida, O coração dos perversos vale pouco.21 Os lábios do justo alimentam a muitos, Mas por falta de entendimento os insensatos morrem.22 É a bênção de Jeová que enriquece, E não a faz seguir de dor alguma.23 O praticar a maldade é como divertimento para o insensato, E a sabedoria o é para o entendido.24 O que o perverso teme, isso virá sobre ele; E aos justos se lhes concederá o seu desejo.25 Como passa a tempestade, assim desaparece o perverso; Mas o justo tem fundamentos eternos.26 Qual o vinagre para os dentes, e o fumo para os olhos: Tal é o preguiçoso para aqueles que o enviam.27 O temor de Jeová prolonga os dias, Mas os anos dos perversos serão abreviados.28 A esperança dos justos não é senão alegria, Mas a expectativa dos perversos perecerá.29 O caminho de Jeová é fortaleza para os retos, Mas é destruição para os que obram iniqüidade.30 O justo não será jamais abalado, Mas os perversos não habitarão a terra.31 A boca do justo produz sabedoria, Mas a língua perversa será decepada.32 Os lábios do justo sabem o que é aceitável, Mas a boca dos perversos fala perversidade.

1 A wise son makes a father glad: but a foolish son is sorrow depressiongrief for his mother.2 Treasures of wickedness the morally wrong profit nothing, but righteousness delivers from death.3 Jehovah will not allow the righteous to hunger. He rejects the mischief of the wicked.4 He becomes poor who deals with a lazy hand. The hand of the diligent makes rich.5 He who gathers in summer is a wise son. He who sleeps at the harvest is a son who causes shame.6 Blessings cover the head of the righteous. Violence covers the mouth of the wicked.7 The memory of the righteous is blessed. The name of the wicked will waste away.8 The wise in heart will accept the law but a babbling fool will fall.9 He who walks with integrity walks safely. He who perverts his ways will be found out.10 He who winks the eye in a jesture of malice causes trouble. A babbling fool will fall.11 The mouth of a righteous man is a fountain of life. Aggression comes from the mouth of the wicked.12 Hatred stirs up strife. Love covers all sins.13 Wisdom is found on the lips of the understanding discerning. A rod is for the back of him who lacks understanding.14 Wise men preserve knowledge. The mouth of the foolish is near destruction.15 The rich man's wealth is his strength. The destruction of the poor is their poverty.16 The labor of the righteous leads to life. The yield of the wicked is punishment.17 He who regards instruction is in the way of life. He who refuses reproof goes mentally and morally astray.18 Truly a fool hides hatred with lying lips, and speaks slander.19 Sin does not hide from a multitude of words. The wise controls his lips.20 The tongue of the righteous is like choice silver. The heart of the wicked has little worth.21 The lips of the righteous feed many. Fools die for lack of understanding.22 The blessing of Jehovah makes rich and he adds no grief to it.23 It is like sport to a fool to do mischief. A man of understanding has wisdom.24 The fear of the wicked will come upon him. The desire of the righteous will be granted.25 The whirlwind passes and the wicked is no more. The righteous has an everlasting foundation.26 As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the lazy man to those who sent him.27 Respect for Jehovah prolongs life. The years of the wicked will be shortened.28 The hope of the righteous is joy. The prospect for the wicked is bleak.29 The way of Jehovah is a rock stronghold to the upright. The workers of iniquity will be destroyed.30 The righteous will never be removed. The wicked will not inhabit the earth.31 The mouth of the righteous flows with wisdom but the perverted tongue will be destroyed.32 The lips of the righteous speak what is acceptable. The mouth of the wicked speaks perversion.
