Jesus é senhor do sábado

1 *Mt 12.1-8;Mc 2.23-28;Lc 6.1-5Naquele tempo, em um sábado, passou Jesus pelas searas; e seus discípulos, tendo fome, começaram a *Dt 23.25colher espigas e a comer. 2 Os fariseus, vendo isso, disseram-lhe: Teus discípulos estão fazendo o que *cp.Mt 12.10;Lc 13.14;14.3;Jo 5.10;7.23;9.16não é lícito fazer nos sábados. 3 Ele, porém, lhes disse: *1Sm 21.6Não lestes o que fez Davi, quando ele e seus companheiros tiveram fome? 4 Como entrou na Casa de Deus, e como eles comeram os pães da proposição, os quais não lhe era lícito comer, nem aos seus companheiros, mas somente aos sacerdotes? 5 *Nm 28.9-10Ou não lestes na Lei que aos sábados os sacerdotes no templo violam o sábado e ficam sem culpa? 6 Digo-vos, porém: Aqui está o que é *Mt 12.41-42maior que o templo. 7 *Os 6.6Mas, se vós tivésseis conhecido o que significa: Misericórdia quero e não holocaustos, não teríeis condenado os inocentes. 8 Pois *vd.Mt 8.20;12.32,40o Filho do Homem é senhor do sábado.

A cura de um homem que tinha seca uma das mãos. Trama contra a vida de Jesus

9 *Mt 12.9-14;Mc 3.1-6;Lc 6.6-11Tendo Jesus partido daquele lugar, entrou na sinagoga deles. 10 Achava-se ali um homem que tinha seca uma das mãos. Para poderem acusar a Jesus, perguntaram-lhe: *cp.Mt 12.2;Lc 13.14;14.3;Jo 5.10;7.23;9.16É lícito curar nos sábados? 11 Ele respondeu: Qual de vós, tendo uma ovelha, se ela, ao sábado, cair em uma cova, não lançará mão dela para tirá-la? 12 *cp.Mt 10.31Ora, quanto mais vale um homem que uma ovelha? Logo, é lícito fazer o bem nos sábados. 13 Então, disse ao homem: Estende a mão. Ele a estendeu, e a mão ficou sã como a outra. 14 Mas os fariseus saíram dali *Mt 26.4;Mc 14.1;Lc 22.2; cp.Jo 7.30,44;8.59;10.31,39;11.53e tramaram o modo de tirar-lhe a vida.

Jesus retira-se

15 Jesus, sabendo isso, retirou-se daquele lugar. Muitos o acompanharam; 16 e ele *vd.Mt 4.23curou a todos, *vd.Mt 8.4advertindo-lhes que não o dessem a conhecer;

17 para se cumprir o que foi dito, pelo profeta Isaías:

18 *Is 42.1ss.Eis aqui o meu servo que escolhi,

*Mt 3.17;17.5o meu amado em quem a minha alma se agrada

*Lc 4.18;Jo 3.34Sobre ele porei o meu Espírito,

e ele anunciará o juízo aos gentios.

19 Não contenderá, nem clamará,

nem ouvirá alguém a sua voz nas ruas.

20 Não esmagará a cana quebrada,

nem apagará a torcida que fumega,

até que faça triunfar o juízo.

21 *Rm 15.12Em seu nome, esperarão os gentios.

A cura de um endemoninhado, cego e mudo. A blasfêmia dos fariseus. Jesus defende-se

Por isso, eles mesmos serão os vossos juízes. 28 Mas, se pelo Espírito de Deus eu expulso os demônios, logo é chegado a vós o reino de Deus. 29 Como pode alguém entrar na casa do valente e roubar-lhe os bens, sem primeiro amarrá-lo? E então lhe saqueará a casa. 30 *Lc 11.23; cp.Mc 9.40;Lc 9.50Quem não é comigo é contra mim; e quem comigo não ajunta espalha. 31 *Mt 12.31-32; cp.Mc 3.28-30;Lc 12.10Por isso, vos declaro: todo pecado e blasfêmia serão perdoados aos homens, mas a blasfêmia contra o Espírito não lhes será perdoada. 32 Ao que disser alguma palavra contra o Filho do Homem, isso lhe será perdoado; porém ao que falar contra o Espírito Santo, não lhe será perdoado, nem *Mc 10.30;Lc 16.8;18.30;20.34-35;Ef 1.21;1Tm 6.17;2Tm 4.10;Tt 2.12;Hb 6.5; vd.Mt 13.22,39neste mundo, nem no vindouro. 33 Reconhecei que a árvore é boa, e o seu fruto, bom ou que a árvore é má, e o seu fruto, mau; porque *vd.Mt 7.16pelo fruto se conhece a árvore. 34 *Mt 3.7;23.33Raça de víboras, como podeis falar coisas boas, sendo maus? *Mt 12.34-35; cp.Lc 6.45;Mt 15.18;Ef 4.29;Tg 3.2-12;1Sm 24.13Porque a boca fala o de que está cheio o coração. 35 O homem bom tira boas coisas do seu bom tesouro, e o homem mau tira más coisas do seu mau tesouro. 36 Digo-vos que de toda palavra ociosa que falarem os homens, dela darão conta *vd.Mt 10.15no dia de juízo; 37 porque pelas tuas palavras serás justificado e pelas tuas palavras serás condenado.

Os escribas e fariseus pedem um sinal

38 Então, alguns escribas e fariseus disseram: Mestre, *Mt 16.1;Mc 8.11-12;Lc 11.16;Jo 2.18;6.30; cp.1Co 1.22queremos ver algum milagre feito por ti. 39 Ele, porém, replicou: *Mt 12.39-42;Lc 11.29-32; cp.Mt 16.4Uma geração má e adúltera pede um sinal; e nenhum sinal se lhe dará, senão o do profeta Jonas. 40 Pois assim como *Jn 1.17Jonas esteve três dias e três noites no ventre do grande peixe, assim *vd.Mt 8.20o Filho do Homem estará *vd.Mt 16.21três dias e três noites no coração da terra. 41 Os *Jn 1.2ninivitas se levantarão no juízo juntamente com esta geração e a condenarão, porque *Jn 3.5se arrependeram com a pregação de Jonas; e aqui está quem é *Mt 12.6,42maior do que Jonas. 42 A *1Rs 10.1;2Cr 9.1rainha do Sul se levantará no juízo juntamente com esta geração e a condenará, porque veio dos confins da terra para ouvir a sabedoria de Salomão; e aqui está quem é *Mt 12.6,41maior do que Salomão. 43 *Mt 12.43-45;Lc 11.24-26Mas, quando o espírito imundo tiver saído de um homem, anda por lugares áridos, buscando repouso, e não o acha. 44 Então, diz: Voltarei para minha casa donde saí; e, ao chegar, acha-a desocupada, varrida e ornada. 45 Depois, vai e leva consigo mais sete espíritos piores do que ele, e ali entram e habitam; *2Pe 2.20e o último estado daquele homem fica sendo pior do que o primeiro. Assim também acontecerá a esta geração perversa.

1 At that time, Jesus went on the Sabbath day through the grain fields. His disciples were hungry and began to pluck heads of grain and to eat. 2 But the Pharisees, when they saw it, said to him, "Behold, your disciples do what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath."

3 But he said to them, "Haven’t you read what David did when he was hungry, and those who were with him: 4 how he entered into God’s house and ate the show bread, which was not lawful for him to eat, nor for those who were with him, but only for the priests?✝12:4 1 Samuel 21:3-6 5 Or have you not read in the law that on the Sabbath day the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath and are guiltless? 6 But I tell you that one greater than the temple is here. 7 But if you had known what this means, ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,’✝12:7 Hosea 6:6 you wouldn’t have condemned the guiltless. 8 For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath."

9 He departed from there and went into their synagogue. 10 And behold, there was a man with a withered hand. They asked him, "Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath day?" so that they might accuse him.

11 He said to them, "What man is there among you who has one sheep, and if this one falls into a pit on the Sabbath day, won’t he grab on to it and lift it out? 12 Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath day." 13 Then he told the man, "Stretch out your hand." He stretched it out; and it was restored whole, just like the other. 14 But the Pharisees went out and conspired against him, how they might destroy him.

15 Jesus, perceiving that, withdrew from there. Great multitudes followed him; and he healed them all, 16 and commanded them that they should not make him known, 17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying,

18 "Behold, my servant whom I have chosen,

my beloved in whom my soul is well pleased.

I will put my Spirit on him.

He will proclaim justice to the nations.

19 He will not strive, nor shout,

neither will anyone hear his voice in the streets.

20 He won’t break a bruised reed.

He won’t quench a smoking flax,

until he leads justice to victory.

21 In his name, the nations will hope."✝12:21 Isaiah 42:1-4

22 Then one possessed by a demon, blind and mute, was brought to him; and he healed him, so that the blind and mute man both spoke and saw. 23 All the multitudes were amazed, and said, "Can this be the son of David?" 24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, "This man does not cast out demons except by Beelzebul, the prince of the demons."

25 Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand. 26 If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand? 27 If I by Beelzebul cast out demons, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges. 28 But if I by the Spirit of God cast out demons, then God’s Kingdom has come upon you. 29 Or how can one enter into the house of the strong man and plunder his goods, unless he first bind the strong man? Then he will plunder his house.

30 "He who is not with me is against me, and he who doesn’t gather with me, scatters. 31 Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. 32 Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age, or in that which is to come.

33 "Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree corrupt and its fruit corrupt; for the tree is known by its fruit. 34 You offspring of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. 35 The good man out of his good treasure*12:35 TR adds "of the heart" brings out good things, and the evil man out of his evil treasure brings out evil things. 36 I tell you that every idle word that men speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. 37 For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned."

38 Then certain of the scribes and Pharisees answered, "Teacher, we want to see a sign from you."

39 But he answered them, "An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, but no sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah the prophet. 40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the huge fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. 41 The men of Nineveh will stand up in the judgment with this generation and will condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, someone greater than Jonah is here. 42 The Queen of the South will rise up in the judgment with this generation and will condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, someone greater than Solomon is here.

43 "When an unclean spirit has gone out of a man, he passes through waterless places seeking rest, and doesn’t find it. 44 Then he says, ‘I will return into my house from which I came;’ and when he has come back, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. 45 Then he goes and takes with himself seven other spirits more evil than he is, and they enter in and dwell there. The last state of that man becomes worse than the first. Even so will it be also to this evil generation."

46 While he was yet speaking to the multitudes, behold, his mother and his brothers stood outside, seeking to speak to him. 47 One said to him, "Behold, your mother and your brothers stand outside, seeking to speak to you."

48 But he answered him who spoke to him, "Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?" 49 He stretched out his hand toward his disciples, and said, "Behold, my mother and my brothers! 50 For whoever does the will of my Father who is in heaven, he is my brother, and sister, and mother."
