1 Eis os nomes das tribos. Na extremidade norte da terra, para o caminho de Hatalon até Hamat, Hatzer-Enon, na fronteira de Damasco ao norte, ao longo de Hamat, um território que irá desde a fronteira oriental até a fronteira ocidental, será atribuído a Dã; esta constitui uma parte.2 Do lado do limite de Dã, da fronteira oriental até a fronteira ocidental, a parte de Aser.3 Ao lado da fronteira de Aser, da fronteira oriental até a fronteira ocidental, a parte de Neftali.4 Ao lado da fronteira de Neftali, da fronteira oriental até a fronteira ocidental, a parte de Manassés.5 Do lado do limite de Manassés, da fronteira oriental até a fronteira ocidental, a parte de Efraim.6 Do lado do limite de Efraim, da fronteira oriental até a fronteira ocidental, a parte de Rubem.7 Do lado do limite de Rubem, da fronteira oriental até a fronteira ocidental, a parte de Judá.8 Do lado do limite de Judá, da fronteira oriental até a fronteira ocidental, encontrar-se-á a parte que tirareis antecipadamente, de uma largura de vinte e cinco mil côvados e um comprimento igual ao das outras partes de leste a oeste. No centro dessa parte, encontrar-se-á o santuário.9 A parte que tirareis com antecipação para o Senhor terá vinte e cinco mil côvados de comprimento por dez mil de largura.10 Esta santa porção será para os sacerdotes: suas dimensões serão: ao norte, vinte e cinco mil côvados; a oeste, dez mil côvados de largura; a leste, dez mil de largura; ao sul, vinte e cinco mil côvados de comprimento. O santuário do Senhor elevar-se-á ao centro.11 Ele é para os sacerdotes consagrados, descendentes de Sadoc, que têm feito o meu serviço sem se desviarem como os levitas, quando os israelitas se transviaram.12 É para eles uma porção sagrada a parte reservada daquela que tiraram antecipadamente do território, ao lado do limite dos levitas.13 Os levitas ocuparão, na extensão dos limites dos sacerdotes, um espaço de vinte e cinco mil côvados de comprimento e dez mil côvados de largura. Comprimento total: vinte e cinco mil côvados; extensão: dez mil.14 Não se poderá vender nada nem trocar: o melhor dessa terra não poderá ser alienado, porque é propriedade sagrada do Senhor.15 Os cinco mil côvados que restarem em largura, por vinte e cinco mil de comprimento, constituirão um espaço profano destinado à cidade, a suas habitações e a seus terrenos. A cidade estará no centro.16 Eis as suas dimensões: ao norte, quatro mil e quinhentos côvados; ao sul, quatro mil e quinhentos côvados; a leste, quatro mil e quinhentos côvados; a oeste, quatro mil e quinhentos côvados.17 Os limites da cidade terão ao norte duzentos e cinqüenta côvados; ao sul, duzentos e cinqüenta côvados; a leste, duzentos e cinqüenta côvados e a oeste, duzentos e cinqüenta côvados.18 Restará, ao longo da parte consagrada, uma extensão de dez mil côvados; dez mil côvados a leste e a oeste, paralelamente à parte consagrada, cujos produtos servirão para o sustento dos trabalhadores da cidade.19 Os trabalhadores da cidade, recrutados em todas as tribos de Israel, cultivarão essa porção.20 O total da parte reservada com vinte e cinco mil côvados por vinte e cinco mil, tereis reservado para domínio da cidade, uma parte igual ao quarto da porção santa.21 O resto será para o príncipe, dos dois lados da porção sagrada e do domínio da cidade, ao longo dos vinte e cinco mil côvados da porção reservada até a fronteira oriental, e a oeste, ao longo dos vinte e cinco mil côvados até a fronteira ocidental, paralelamente às {outras} partes. Será, pois, para o príncipe; a porção sagrada e o santuário do templo estarão no meio.22 Assim, a parte do príncipe ocupará o espaço compreendido entre os limites de Judá e de Benjamim, salvo o domínio dos levitas e o da cidade, situados no meio da porção que lhe tocar.23 Para o resto das tribos: da fronteira oriental à fronteira ocidental, a parte de Benjamim.24 Do lado do limite de Benjamim, da fronteira oriental à fronteira ocidental, a parte de Simeão.25 Do lado limite de Simeão, da fronteira oriental à fronteira ocidental, a parte de Issacar.26 Do lado do limite de Issacar, da fronteira oriental até a fronteira ocidental, a parte de Zabulon.27 Do lado da parte de Zabulon, da fronteira oriental até a fronteira ocidental, a parte de Gad.28 Sobre o limite de Gad, ao sul, a fronteira irá de Tamar para o oriente, às águas de Meriba de Gades, e à torrente que vai para o Grande Mar.29 Tal é a terra cujos patrimônios repartireis por sorte entre as tribos de Israel; tais serão as suas partes respectivas - oráculo do Senhor Javé.30 Eis as saídas da cidade.31 {As portas da cidade receberão os nomes das tribos de Israel.} Ao norte - do comprimento de quatro mil e quinhentos côvados -, haverá três portas: a porta de Rubem, a porta de Judá e a porta de Levi.32 O lado leste - do comprimento de quatro mil e quinhentos côvados - terá três portas: a porta de José, a porta de Benjamim e a porta de Dã.33 O lado sul - extensão de quatro mil e quinhentos côvados - terá três portas: a porta de Simeão, a porta de Issacar e a porta de Zabulon.34 O lado oeste - da extensão de quatro mil e quinhentos côvados - terá três portas: a porta de Gad, a porta de Aser e a porta de Neftali.35 Perímetro: dezoito mil côvados. Doravante o nome da cidade será Javé-Chammá.

1 Now these [are] the names of the tribes. From the side of the north by the way of Hethlon, as one goes to Hamath, Hazarenan, to the border of Damascus northward, to the coast of Hamath; Dan shall have a [portion], his sides being to the east and to the west.2 And next to the border of Dan, from the east side unto the side of the sea, Asher shall have a [portion].3 And next to the border of Asher, from the east side unto the side of the sea, a [portion for] Naphtali.4 And next to the border of Naphtali, from the east side unto the side of the sea, a [portion for] Manasseh.5 And next to the border of Manasseh, from the east side unto the side of the sea, a [portion for] Ephraim.6 And next to the border of Ephraim, from the east side even unto the side of the sea, a [portion for] Reuben.7 And next to the border of Reuben, from the east side unto the side of the sea, a [portion for] Judah.8 And next to the border of Judah, from the east side unto the side of the sea, shall be the lot which ye shall set apart of twenty-five thousand [reeds in] breadth, and [in] length as one of the [other] portions; [that is], from the east side unto the side of the sea: and the sanctuary shall be in the midst of it.9 The lot that ye shall separate unto the LORD [shall be] of twenty-five thousand in length, and of ten thousand in breadth.10 And from there shall be the holy lot of the priests; toward the north twenty-five thousand [reeds in length], and toward the west ten thousand in breadth, and toward the east ten thousand in breadth, and toward the south twenty-five thousand in length: and the sanctuary of the LORD shall be in the midst thereof.11 The priests that are sanctified of the sons of Zadok, which have kept my charge, which did not go astray when the sons of Israel went astray, as the Levites went astray.12 They shall receive [by lot], separated in the dividing of the land, the most holy part, next to the border of the Levites.13 And the [portion] of the Levites, [shall be] in front the border of the priests, of twenty-five thousand [reeds] in length, and of ten thousand in breadth; all the length [shall be] twenty-five thousand, and the breadth ten thousand.14 They shall not sell of it, neither exchange nor transpose the firstfruits of the land; for [it is] consecrated unto the LORD.15 And the five thousand [reeds], that are left in the breadth over against the twenty-five thousand, shall be profane, for the city, for dwelling, and for suburbs: and the city shall be in the midst thereof.16 And these [shall be] the measures thereof: the north side four thousand five hundred [reeds], and the south side four thousand five hundred, and on the east side four thousand five hundred, and the west side four thousand five hundred.17 And the suburbs of the city shall be toward the north two hundred and fifty [reeds], and toward the west two hundred and fifty.18 And the residue in length over against the lot of the holy [portion shall be] ten thousand eastward, and ten thousand westward: which shall be [what is left] of the lot of the holy [portion]; it shall be for food unto those that serve the city.19 And those that serve the city shall be from all the tribes of Israel.20 All the lot of twenty-five thousand by twenty-five thousand square: ye shall separate by lot for the sanctuary and for the possession of the city.21 And the residue [shall be] for the prince, on the one side and on the other of the holy lot, and of the possession of the city, over against the twenty-five thousand [reeds] of the [holy] lot unto the east border, and westward over against the twenty-five thousand unto the west border, over against the [said] portions shall be of the prince; and it shall be a holy lot; and the sanctuary of the house [shall be] in the midst thereof.22 Moreover from the possession of the Levites, and from the possession of the city, in the midst [shall be] that which belongs to the prince, between the border of Judah and the border of Benjamin, shall be [the lot] of the prince.23 As for the rest of the tribes, from the east side unto the side of the sea, Benjamin [shall have] a [portion].24 And next to the border of Benjamin, from the east side unto the side of the sea, Simeon [shall have] a [portion].25 And next to the border of Simeon, from the east side unto the side of the sea, Issachar a [portion].26 And next to the border of Issachar, from the east side unto the side of the sea, Zebulun a [portion].27 And next to the border of Zebulun, from the east side unto the side of the sea, Gad a [portion].28 And next to the border of Gad, at the south side southward, the border shall be from Tamar unto the waters of strife, and [from] Kadesh, [and] the river unto the great sea.29 This [is] the land which ye shall divide by lot unto the tribes of Israel for inheritance, and these [are] their portions, said the Lord GOD.30 And these [are] the goings out of the city on the north side, four thousand five hundred [reeds] by measure.31 And the gates of the city [shall be] according to the names of the tribes of Israel: three gates northward; the gate of Reuben, one; the gate of Judah, another; the gate of Levi, another.32 And at the east side four thousand five hundred [reeds]: and three gates; the gate of Joseph, one; the gate of Benjamin, another; the gate of Dan, another.33 And at the south side four thousand five hundred [reeds] by measure: and three gates; the gate of Simeon, one; the gate of Issachar, another; the gate of Zebulun, another.34 At the west side four thousand five hundred [reeds], and their three gates; the gate of Gad, one; the gate of Asher, another; the gate of Naphtali, another.35 [It was] round about eighteen thousand [reeds]: and the name of the city from that day shall be, THE LORD IS HERE.:
