1 Those who trust in Yahweh are as Mount Zion,

which can’t be moved, but remains forever.

2 As the mountains surround Jerusalem,

so Yahweh surrounds his people from this time forward and forever more.

3 For the scepter of wickedness won’t remain over the allotment of the righteous,

so that the righteous won’t use their hands to do evil.

4 Do good, Yahweh, to those who are good,

to those who are upright in their hearts.

5 But as for those who turn away to their crooked ways,

Yahweh will lead them away with the workers of iniquity.

1 A Song of degrees. Those that trust in the LORD [are] as mount Zion, [which] cannot be removed [but] abides for ever.

2 As the mountains [are] round about Jerusalem, so the LORD [is] round about his people from now on even for ever.

3 For the rod of wickedness shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous because the righteous shall not put forth their hands unto iniquity.

4 Do good, O LORD, unto [those that are] good and [to those that are] upright in their hearts.

5 As for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, the LORD shall take them away with the workers of iniquity; [and] peace [shall be] upon Israel.:
