A Song of Ascents. By David.
1 Yahweh, my heart isn’t arrogant, nor my eyes lofty;
nor do I concern myself with great matters,
or things too wonderful for me.
2 Surely I have stilled and quieted my soul,
like a weaned child with his mother,
like a weaned child is my soul within me.
3 Israel, hope in Yahweh,
from this time forward and forever more.

1 A Song of degrees of David. LORD, my heart has not become haughty, nor mine eyes lofty; neither have I walked in grandeur, nor in wonderful things [above and] beyond that which pertains to me.
2 Rather [I] have [quieted] myself and caused my soul to become silent, [that I might be] as a child that is weaned of his mother, as one who is weaned from my [own] life.
3 Let Israel wait for the LORD from now on and for ever.:
