1 Crônicas 15

1 David made himself houses in David’s city; and he prepared a place for God’s ark, and pitched a tent for it. 2 Then David said, "No one ought to carry God’s ark but the Levites. For Yahweh has chosen them to carry God’s ark, and to minister to him forever."

3 David assembled all Israel at Jerusalem, to bring up Yahweh’s ark to its place, which he had prepared for it. 4 David gathered together the sons of Aaron and the Levites: 5 of the sons of Kohath, Uriel the chief, and his brothers one hundred twenty; 6 of the sons of Merari, Asaiah the chief, and his brothers two hundred twenty; 7 of the sons of Gershom, Joel the chief, and his brothers one hundred thirty; 8 of the sons of Elizaphan, Shemaiah the chief, and his brothers two hundred; 9 of the sons of Hebron, Eliel the chief, and his brothers eighty; 10 of the sons of Uzziel, Amminadab the chief, and his brothers one hundred twelve.

11 David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites: for Uriel, Asaiah, Joel, Shemaiah, Eliel, and Amminadab, 12 and said to them, "You are the heads of the fathers’ households of the Levites. Sanctify yourselves, both you and your brothers, that you may bring the ark of Yahweh, the God of Israel, up to the place that I have prepared for it. 13 For because you didn’t carry it at first, Yahweh our God broke out in anger against us, because we didn’t seek him according to the ordinance."

14 So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of Yahweh, the God of Israel. 15 The children of the Levites bore God’s ark on their shoulders with its poles, as Moses commanded according to Yahweh’s word.

16 David spoke to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brothers as singers with instruments of music, stringed instruments, harps, and cymbals, sounding aloud and lifting up their voices with joy. 17 So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel; and of his brothers, Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari their brothers, Ethan the son of Kushaiah; 18 and with them their brothers of the second rank: Zechariah, Ben, Jaaziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, Obed-Edom, and Jeiel, the doorkeepers. 19 So the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, were given cymbals of bronze to sound aloud; 20 and Zechariah, Aziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Maaseiah, and Benaiah, with stringed instruments set to Alamoth; 21 and Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, Obed-Edom, Jeiel, and Azaziah, with harps tuned to the eight-stringed lyre, to lead. 22 Chenaniah, chief of the Levites, was over the singing. He taught the singers, because he was skillful. 23 Berechiah and Elkanah were doorkeepers for the ark. 24 Shebaniah, Joshaphat, Nethanel, Amasai, Zechariah, Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, blew the trumpets before God’s ark; and Obed-Edom and Jehiah were doorkeepers for the ark.

25 So David, the elders of Israel, and the captains over thousands went to bring the ark of Yahweh’s covenant up out of the house of Obed-Edom with joy. 26 When God helped the Levites who bore the ark of Yahweh’s covenant, they sacrificed seven bulls and seven rams. 27 David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, as were all the Levites who bore the ark, the singers, and Chenaniah the choir master with the singers; and David had an ephod of linen on him. 28 Thus all Israel brought the ark of Yahweh’s covenant up with shouting, with sound of the cornet, with trumpets, and with cymbals, sounding aloud with stringed instruments and harps. 29 As the ark of Yahweh’s covenant came to David’s city, Michal the daughter of Saul looked out at the window, and saw king David dancing and playing; and she despised him in her heart.

Guds ark förs till Jerusalem

1 *2 Sam 6:17, 1 Krön 16:1. David byggde sig hus i Davids stad. Han gjorde också i ordning en plats åt Guds ark och slog upp ett tält åt den, 2 *4 Mos 4:15. och han sade: "Inga andra än leviterna ska bära Guds ark, för dem har Herren utvalt att bära Guds ark och tjäna honom för evigt." 3 *2 Sam 6:12, 1 Krön 13:5. David samlade hela Israel till Jerusalem för att hämta upp Herrens ark till den plats som han hade gjort i ordning åt den.

4 David samlade Arons barn och leviterna:

5 av Kehats barn: Uriel, deras ledare och hans bröder, 120,

6 av Meraris barn: Asaja, deras ledare, och hans bröder, 220,

7 av Gershons barn: Joel, deras ledare, och hans bröder, 130,

8 av Elisafans barn: Shemaja, deras ledare, och hans bröder, 200,

9 av Hebrons barn: Eliel, deras ledare, och hans bröder, 80,

10 av Ussiels barn: Amminadab, deras ledare, och hans bröder, 112.

11 *2 Sam 15:29. David kallade till sig prästerna Sadok och Ebjatar samt leviterna Uriel, Asaja, Joel, Shemaja, Eliel och Amminadab 12 *2 Mos 19:10. och han sade till dem: "Ni är huvudmän för leviternas familjer. Helga er tillsammans med era bröder och hämta sedan Herrens, Israels Guds, ark upp till den plats som jag har gjort i ordning åt den. 13 *2 Sam 6:6f, 1 Krön 13:10f. Eftersom ni inte var med förra gången, bröt Herren vår Gud ner en av oss. Vi sökte ju inte honom på rätt sätt."

14 Då helgade prästerna och leviterna sig för att hämta upp Herrens, Israels Guds, ark. 15 *2 Mos 25:14, 4 Mos 4:15, 7:9. Och som Mose hade befallt i enlighet med Herrens ord bar nu leviterna Guds ark med stänger som vilade på deras axlar.

16 David sade till ledarna bland leviterna att de skulle utse sina bröder sångarna till tjänstgöring med musikinstrument, lyror, harpor och cymbaler, som de skulle låta ljuda medan de höjde glädjesången. 17 *1 Krön 6:33, 39, 44, 25:1. Leviterna utsåg då Heman, Joels son, och av hans bröder Asaf, Berekjas son, och av deras bröder, Meraris barn, Etan, Kushajas son, 18 och tillsammans med dem deras bröder av andra ordningen, Sakarja, Ben, Jaasiel, Shemiramot, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaja, Maaseja, Mattitja, Elifalehu, Mikneja, Obed-Edom och Jegiel, dörrvakterna.

19 Sångarna Heman*15:19HemanEn av Davids profeter (25:4f) och lovsångsledare (1 Krön 16:41). Han var berömd för sin vishet (1 Kung 4:31) och skrev Ps 88, enligt psalmens överskrift., Asaf*15:19AsafProfet (25:2f) och lovsångsledare (16:5f). Han anges som författare till Ps 50 och 73-83. och Etan*15:19EtanBerömd för sin vishet (1 Kung 4:31). Skrev Ps 89, enligt psalmens överskrift. skulle låta kopparcymbaler ljuda. 20 *Ps 46:1. Sakarja, Asiel, Shemiramot, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Maaseja och Benaja skulle spela på lyror till alamót. 21 *Ps 6:1. Mattitja, Elifalehu, Mikneja, Obed-Edom, Jegiel och Asasja skulle leda sången med harpor till sheminít*15:21alamót … sheminítMusiktermer med oklar innebörd. Kan översättas "jungfrur" och "åttonde" (möjligen sopranstämma och bas). Används också i Ps 6, 12 och 46..

22 Kenanja, leviternas ledare när de bar, skulle undervisa i att bära eftersom han var kunnig i det. 23 Berekja och Elkana skulle vara dörrvakter vid arken. 24 Shebanja, Joshafat, Netanel, Amasaj, Sakarja, Benaja och Elieser, prästerna, skulle blåsa i trumpeter framför Guds ark, och Obed-Edom och Jehia skulle vara dörrvakter vid arken.

25 *2 Sam 6:12f, 1 Krön 13:13. Så gick David och de äldste i Israel och de högsta befälhavarna i väg för att hämta upp Herrens förbundsark från Obed-Edoms hus under jubel. 26 Eftersom Gud hjälpte leviterna som bar Herrens förbundsark offrade man sju tjurar och sju baggar. 27 David var klädd i en kåpa av fint linne. Det var också alla leviterna som bar arken, liksom sångarna och Kenanja som ledde sångarna när de bar. Dessutom hade David en linne-efod*15:27linne-efodFärggrann prästdräkt (2 Mos 28:6f, 39:2f).. 28 Hela Israel hämtade upp Herrens förbundsark under jubel och basuners ljud. Man blåste i trumpeter och lät cymbaler klinga och lyror och harpor ljuda.

29 När Herrens förbundsark kom till Davids stad såg Sauls dotter Mikal ut genom fönstret, och när hon såg kung David hoppa och dansa fick hon förakt för honom i sitt hjärta.
