| 3 mapa | For Zedekiah king of Judah had confined him, saying, Why dost thou prophesy, and say, Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall take it; | Mert Sedékiás, a Júda királya záratta be õt, mondván: Miért prófétálsz te, ezt mondván: Ezt mondta az Úr: Ímé, én e várost a babiloni király kezébe adom és beveszi azt? |
| 4 mapa | And Zedekiah king of Judah shall not escape from the hand of the Chaldeans, but shall surely be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon, and shall speak with him mouth to mouth, and his eyes shall behold his eyes; | És Sedékiás, a Júda királya, meg nem menekszik a Káldeusok kezébõl, hanem a babiloni király kezébe adatik, és ennek szája szól amannak szájával, és ennek szemei látják amannak szemeit. |
| 5 mapa | And he shall lead Zedekiah to Babylon, and there shall he be until I visit him, saith the LORD: though ye fight with the Chaldeans, ye shall not prosper. | És Babilonba viszi Sedékiást és ott lesz mindaddig, míg meg nem látogatom õt, azt mondja az Úr, hogyha hadakoztok a Káldeusok ellen, nem lesz jó dolgotok. |

| 7 mapa | Behold, Hanameel the son of Shallum thy uncle shall come to thee, saying, Buy for thee my field that is in Anathoth: for the right of redemption is thine to buy it. | Ímé, Hanameél, Sallumnak, a te nagybátyádnak fia hozzád megy, mondván: Vedd meg az én mezõmet, a mely Anatótban van, mert téged illet vér szerint, hogy megvegyed. |
| 8 mapa | So Hanameel my uncle's son came to me in the court of the prison, according to the word of the LORD, and said to me, Buy my field, I pray thee, that is in Anathoth, which is in the country of Benjamin: for the right of inheritance is thine, and the redemption is thine; buy it for thyself. Then I knew that this was the word of the LORD. | Eljöve azért hozzám Hanameél, az én nagybátyámnak fia, az Úr beszéde szerint a tömlöcz pitvarához, és monda nékem: Kérlek, vedd meg az én mezõmet, a mely Anatótban, a Benjámin földén van, mert téged illet, mint örököst, és te reád néz vér szerint is, vedd meg hát magadnak. Akkor észrevevém, hogy az Úr szava ez. |
| 9 mapa | And I bought the field of Hanameel my uncle's son, that was in Anathoth, and weighed him the money, even seventeen shekels of silver. | Azért megvevém Hanameéltõl, az én nagybátyámnak fiától a mezõt, a mely Anatótban van, és kifizettem néki a pénzt, tizenhét ezüst siklust. |
| 10 | And I subscribed the contract, and sealed it, and took witnesses, and weighed him the money in the balances. | És beírám levélbe és megpecsétlém, és tanúkat is állíték, és megmérém a pénzt mérlegen. |
| 11 | So I took the evidence of the purchase, both that which was sealed according to the law and custom, and that which was open: | Ezután kezembe vevém a vétel felõl való levelet, a mely meg vala pecsételve a parancsolat és törvények szerint, és a közönséges [levelet ]is. |
| 12 | And I gave the evidence of the purchase to Baruch the son of Neriah, the son of Maaseiah, in the sight of Hanameel my uncle's son, and in the presence of the witnesses that subscribed the book of the purchase, before all the Jews that sat in the court of the prison. | És a vétel felõl való levelet odaadám Báruknak, a Néria fiának, a ki Mahásiás fia vala, Hanameélnek, az én nagybátyám [fiá]nak szemei elõtt, és a tanúk szemei elõtt, a kik be valának írva a vétel felõl való levélbe, mindama júdaiak szemei elõtt, a kik ülnek vala a tömlöcz pitvarában. |
| 13 | And I charged Baruch before them, saying, | És parancsolék Báruknak azok szemei elõtt, mondván: |
| 14 | Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Take these evidences, this evidence of the purchase, both that which is sealed, and this evidence which is open; and put them in an earthen vessel, that they may continue many days. | Ezt mondja a Seregek Ura, az Izráel Istene: Vedd fel e leveleket, ezt a vételi levelet, mind a bepecsételtetett, mind a közönséges levelet, és tedd azokat cserépedénybe, hogy sok ideig elálljanak. |
| 15 | For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Houses and fields and vineyards shall be possessed again in this land. | Mert ezt mondja a Seregek Ura, Izráel Istene: Még házakat, mezõket és szõlõket fognak venni e földön. |
| 16 | Now when I had delivered the evidence of the purchase to Baruch the son of Neriah, I prayed to the LORD, saying, | És könyörgék az Úrnak, miután odaadám a vétel felõl való levelet Báruknak, a Néria fiának, mondván: |
| 17 | Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and out-stretched arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee: | Ah, ah, Uram Isten! Ímé te teremtetted a mennyet és földet a te nagy hatalmaddal és a te kiterjesztett karoddal, és semmi sincs lehetetlen elõtted! |
| 18 | Thou showest loving-kindness to thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, JEHOVAH of hosts, is his name, | A ki irgalmasságot cselekszel ezeríziglen, és a ki az atyák bûnéért az õ fiaik keblében fizetsz meg õ utánok, te nagy Isten, te hatalmas, a kinek neve Seregek Ura! |
| 19 | Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for thy eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings: | Nagy tanácsú és hatalmas cselekedetû, a kinek szemei jól látják az ember[ek] fiainak minden útait, hogy kinek-kinek megfizess az õ útai szerint, és az õ cselekedeteinek gyümölcse szerint; |
| 20 mapa | Who hast set signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, even to this day, and in Israel, and among other men; and hast made thee a name, as at this day; | A ki jeleket és csudákat tettél Égyiptom földén [és] mind e napiglan mind Izráel [föld]én, mind az embereken, és nevet szerzettél magadnak, a mint [ez] mai nap [is megvan.] |
| 21 mapa | And hast brought forth thy people Israel from the land of Egypt with signs, and with wonders, and with a strong hand, and with an out-stretched arm, and with great terror; | És kihoztad a te népedet, az Izráelt Égyiptom földébõl jelekkel és csudákkal, és hatalmas kézzel, és kinyújtott karral, és nagy rettegtetéssel. |
| 22 | And hast given them this land, which thou didst swear to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey; | És nékik adtad e földet, a mely felõl megesküdtél az õ atyáiknak, hogy adsz nékik tejjel és mézzel folyó földet. |
| 23 | And they came in, and possessed it; but they obeyed not thy voice, neither walked in thy law; they have done nothing of all that thou commandedst them to do: therefore thou hast caused all this evil to come upon them: | És bementek és birtokolták azt, mindazáltal nem hallgattak a te szódra, és nem jártak a te törvényeidben, a miket parancsoltál nékik, hogy megcselekedjék, azokból semmit sem cselekedtek, azért mind e gonoszt rájok borítottad. |
| 24 | Behold the mounts, they are come to the city to take it; and the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans, that fight against it, because of the sword, and of the famine, and of the pestilence: and what thou hast spoken is come to pass; and behold, thou seest it. | Ímé, a sánczok a városhoz érnek, hogy bevegyék azt, és e város odaadatik a Káldeusok kezébe, a kik megostromolják ezt fegyverrel, éhséggel és döghalállal. És a mit szólottál, meglett, ímé látod is. |
| 25 | And thou hast said to me, O Lord GOD, Buy thee the field for money, and take witnesses; for the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans. | És mégis azt mondottad, Uram Isten, nékem: Végy magadnak mezõt pénzen, és legyenek tanúid felõle, holott a város a Káldeusok kezébe adatik. |
| 26 | Then came the word of the LORD to Jeremiah, saying, | És szóla az Úr Jeremiásnak, mondván: |
| 27 | Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me? | Ímé, én az Úr, Istene vagyok minden testnek, vajjon van- é valami lehetetlen nékem? |
| 28 mapa | Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the Chaldeans, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and he shall take it: | Azért ezt mondja az Úr: Ímé, én odaadom e várost a Káldeusok kezébe, és Nabukodonozornak, a babiloni királynak kezébe, hogy bevegye azt. |
| 29 | And the Chaldeans, that fight against this city, shall come and set fire on this city, and burn it with the houses, upon whose roofs they have offered incense to Baal, and poured out drink-offerings to other gods, to provoke me to anger. | És bemennek a Káldeusok, a kik ostromolják e várost, és e várost felgyújtják tûzzel és felégetik azt, és a házakat is, a melyeknek tetején füstöltek a Baálnak és áldoztak idegen isteneknek, hogy engem haragra ingereljenek. |
| 30 | For the children of Israel and the children of Judah have done evil only before me from their youth: for the children of Israel have only provoked me to anger with the work of their hands, saith the LORD. | Mert Izráel fiai és Júda fiai ifjúságoktól fogva csak azt cselekedték, a mi gonosz az én szemeim elõtt, és az Izráel fiai csak haragra gerjesztettek engem az õ kezeik cselekedeteivel, azt mondja az Úr. |
| 31 | For this city hath been to me as a provocation of my anger and of my fury from the day that they built it even to this day; that I should remove it from before my face, | Mert csak bosszúságomra és búsulásomra volt e város, attól a naptól fogva, a melyen építették azt, mind ez ideig, úgy hogy el kell azt törlenem az én színem elõl. |
| 32 mapa | Because of all the evil of the children of Israel and of the children of Judah, which they have done to provoke me to anger, they, their kings, their princes, their priests, and their prophets, and the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem. | Az Izráel fiainak és a Júda fiainak minden bûnéért, a melyet cselekedtek, hogy felháborítsanak engem, õk magok, az õ királyaik, fejedelmeik, papjaik és prófétáik és Júda vitézei és Jeruzsálem polgárai. |
| 33 | And they have turned to me the back, and not the face: though I taught them, rising early and teaching them, yet they have not hearkened to receive instruction. | És háttal fordultak felém és nem arczczal, és tanítottam õket jó reggel, és noha tanítottam õket, nem voltak készek az intés befogadására. |
| 34 | But they set their abominations in the house, which is called by my name, to defile it. | Sõt az õ útálatosságaikat behelyezték a házba, a mely az én nevemrõl neveztetik, hogy megfertõztessék azt. |
| 35 mapa | And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire to Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin. | És magaslatokat emeltek a Baálnak, a Ben-Hinnom völgyében, hogy megáldozzák fiaikat és leányaikat a Moloknak, a mit nem parancsoltam nékik, és még csak nem is gondoltam, hogy ez útálatosságot megcselekedjék, hogy Júdát vétekre vigyék. |
| 36 mapa | And now therefore thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning this city, of which ye say, It shall be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence; | És most azért azt mondja az Úr, Izráel Istene e városnak, a mely felõl ti mondjátok: Odaadatik a babiloni király kezébe, fegyver, éhség és döghalál miatt: |
| 37 | Behold, I will gather them out of all countries, whither I have driven them in my anger, and in my fury, and in great wrath; and I will bring them again to this place, and I will cause them to dwell in safety. | Ímé én összegyûjtöm õket mindama földekrõl, a melyekre kiûztem õket haragomban, felgerjedésemben és nagy bosszankodásomban, és visszahozom õket e helyre, és lakni hagyom õket bátorságban. |
| 38 | And they shall be my people, and I will be their God: | És népemmé lesznek nékem, én pedig nékik Istenök leszek. |
| 39 | And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them: | És adok nékik egy szívet és egy útat, hogy mindenkor engem féljenek, hogy jól legyen dolguk, nékik és az õ fiaiknak õ utánok. |
| 40 | And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me. | És örökkévaló szövetséget kötök velök, hogy nem fordulok el tõlök és a velök való jótéteménytõl, és az én félelmemet adom az õ szívökbe, hogy el ne távozzanak tõlem. |
| 41 | Yes, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul. | És örvendezek bennök, ha jót cselekedhetem velök és biztosan beplántálhatom õket e földbe, teljes szívvel és teljes lélekkel. |
| 42 | For thus saith the LORD; As I have brought all this great evil upon this people, so will I bring upon them all the good that I have promised them. | Mert ezt mondja az Úr: A miképen ráhoztam e népre mind e nagy veszedelmet, azonképen hozom rájok mind azt a jót, a miket én õ felõlök mondok. |
| 43 | And fields shall be bought in this land, of which ye say, It is desolate without man or beast; it is given into the hand of the Chaldeans. | És vesznek [még] mezõt e földön, a mely felõl ti ezt mondjátok: Pusztaság ez emberek nélkül, barmok nélkül, [és] odaadatik a Káldeusok kezébe. |
| 44 mapa | Men shall buy fields for money, and subscribe evidences, and seal them, and take witnesses in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, and in the cities of the mountains, and in the cities of the valley, and in the cities of the south: for I will cause their captivity to return, saith the LORD. | Pénzen vesznek mezõket, és beírják a levélbe, és megpecsételik, és tanukat állítanak a Benjámin földén, Jeruzsálem környékén és Júda városaiban, a hegyi városokban és a síkföldi városokban és a dél felé való városokban, mert visszahozom az õ foglyaikat, azt mondja az Úr. |
