1 Então, o Espírito me levantou e me levou à porta oriental da Casa do Senhor, a qual olha para o oriente. À entrada da porta, estavam vinte e cinco homens; no meio deles, vi a Jazanias, filho de Azur, e a Pelatias, filho de Benaías, príncipes do povo. 2 E disse-me: Filho do homem, são estes os homens que maquinam vilezas e aconselham perversamente nesta cidade, 3 os quais dizem: Não está próximo o tempo de construir casas; esta cidade é a panela, e nós, a carne. 4 Portanto, profetiza contra eles, profetiza, ó filho do homem.

5 Caiu, pois, sobre mim o Espírito do Senhor e disse-me: Fala: Assim diz o Senhor: Assim tendes dito, ó casa de Israel; porque, quanto às coisas que vos surgem à mente, eu as conheço. 6 Multiplicastes os vossos mortos nesta cidade e deles enchestes as suas ruas. 7 Portanto, assim diz o Senhor Deus: Os que vós matastes e largastes no meio dela são a carne, e ela, a panela; a vós outros, porém, vos tirarei do meio dela. 8 Temestes a espada, mas a espada trarei sobre vós, diz o Senhor Deus. 9 Tirar-vos-ei do meio dela, e vos entregarei nas mãos de estrangeiros, e executarei juízos entre vós. 10 Caireis à espada; nos confins de Israel, vos julgarei, e sabereis que eu sou o Senhor. 11 Esta cidade não vos servirá de panela, nem vós servireis de carne no seu meio; nos confins de Israel, vos julgarei, 12 e sabereis que eu sou o Senhor. Pois não andastes nos meus estatutos, nem executastes os meus juízos; antes, fizestes segundo os juízos das nações que estão em redor de vós.

13 Ao tempo em que eu profetizava, morreu Pelatias, filho de Benaías. Então, caí com o rosto em terra, clamei em alta voz e disse: ah! Senhor Deus! Darás fim ao resto de Israel?

14 Veio a mim a palavra do Senhor, dizendo: 15 Filho do homem, teus irmãos, os teus próprios irmãos, os homens do teu parentesco e toda a casa de Israel, todos eles são aqueles a quem os habitantes de Jerusalém disseram: Apartai-vos para longe do Senhor; esta terra se nos deu em possessão. 16 Portanto, dize: Assim diz o Senhor Deus: Ainda que os lancei para longe entre as nações e ainda que os espalhei pelas terras, todavia, lhes servirei de santuário, por um pouco de tempo, nas terras para onde foram. 17 Dize ainda: Assim diz o Senhor Deus: Hei de ajuntá-los do meio dos povos, e os recolherei das terras para onde foram lançados, e lhes darei a terra de Israel. 18 Voltarão para ali e tirarão dela todos os seus ídolos detestáveis e todas as suas abominações. 19 Dar-lhes-ei um só coração, espírito novo porei dentro deles; tirarei da sua carne o coração de pedra e lhes darei coração de carne; 20 para que andem nos meus estatutos, e guardem os meus juízos, e os executem; eles serão o meu povo, e eu serei o seu Deus. 21 Mas, quanto àqueles cujo coração se compraz em seus ídolos detestáveis e abominações, eu farei recair sobre sua cabeça as suas obras, diz o Senhor Deus.

22 Então, os querubins elevaram as suas asas, e as rodas os acompanhavam; e a glória do Deus de Israel estava no alto, sobre eles. 23 A glória do Senhor subiu do meio da cidade e se pôs sobre o monte que está ao oriente da cidade. 24 Depois, o Espírito de Deus me levantou e me levou na sua visão à Caldeia, para os do cativeiro; e de mim se foi a visão que eu tivera. 25 Então, falei aos do cativeiro todas as coisas que o Senhor me havia mostrado.

1 Moreover the Spirit lifted me up, and brought me unto the east gate of Jehovah’s house, which looketh eastward: and behold, at the door of the gate five and twenty men; and I saw in the midst of them Jaazaniah the son of Azzur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people. 2 And he said unto me, Son of man, these are the men that devise iniquity, and that give wicked counsel in this city; 3 that say, The time is not near to build houses: this city is the caldron, and we are the flesh. 4 Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, O son of man.

5 And the Spirit of Jehovah fell upon me, and he said unto me, Speak, Thus saith Jehovah: Thus have ye said, O house of Israel; for I know the things that come into your mind. 6 Ye have multiplied your slain in this city, and ye have filled the streets thereof with the slain. 7 Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Your slain whom ye have laid in the midst of it, they are the flesh, and this city is the caldron; but ye shall be brought forth out of the midst of it. 8 Ye have feared the sword; and I will bring the sword upon you, saith the Lord Jehovah. 9 And I will bring you forth out of the midst thereof, and deliver you into the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you. 10 Ye shall fall by the sword; I will judge you in the border of Israel; and ye shall know that I am Jehovah. 11 This city shall not be your caldron, neither shall ye be the flesh in the midst thereof; I will judge you in the border of Israel; 12 and ye shall know that I am Jehovah: for ye have not walked in my statutes, neither have ye executed mine ordinances, but have done after the ordinances of the nations that are round about you.

13 And it came to pass, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then fell I down upon my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah Lord Jehovah! wilt thou make a full end of the remnant of Israel?

14 And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, 15 Son of man, thy brethren, even thy brethren, the men of thy kindred, and all the house of Israel, all of them, are they unto whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, Get you far from Jehovah; unto us is this land given for a possession. 16 Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Whereas I have removed them far off among the nations, and whereas I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them a sanctuary for a little while in the countries where they are come. 17 Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will gather you from the peoples, and assemble you out of the countries where ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel. 18 And they shall come thither, and they shall take away all the detestable things thereof and all the abominations thereof from thence. 19 And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh; 20 that they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God. 21 But as for them whose heart walketh after the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, I will bring their way upon their own heads, saith the Lord Jehovah.

22 Then did the cherubim lift up their wings, and the wheels were beside them; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above. 23 And the glory of Jehovah went up from the midst of the city, and stood upon the mountain which is on the east side of the city. 24 And the Spirit lifted me up, and brought me in the vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to them of the captivity. So the vision that I had seen went up from me. 25 Then I spake unto them of the captivity all the things that Jehovah had showed me.

1 Then the Spirit lifted me up and brought me to the gate of the house of the LORD that faces east. There at the entrance of the gate were twenty-five men, and I saw among them Jaazaniah son of Azzur and Pelatiah son of Benaiah, leaders of the people.

2 The LORD said to me, "Son of man, these are the men who are plotting evil and giving wicked advice in this city.

3 They say, 'Haven't our houses been recently rebuilt? This city is a pot, and we are the meat in it.'

4 Therefore prophesy against them; prophesy, son of man."

5 Then the Spirit of the LORD came on me, and he told me to say: "This is what the LORD says: That is what you are saying, you leaders in Israel, but I know what is going through your mind.

6 You have killed many people in this city and filled its streets with the dead.

7 "Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: The bodies you have thrown there are the meat and this city is the pot, but I will drive you out of it.

8 You fear the sword, and the sword is what I will bring against you, declares the Sovereign LORD.

9 I will drive you out of the city and deliver you into the hands of foreigners and inflict punishment on you.

10 You will fall by the sword, and I will execute judgment on you at the borders of Israel. Then you will know that I am the LORD.

11 This city will not be a pot for you, nor will you be the meat in it; I will execute judgment on you at the borders of Israel.

12 And you will know that I am the LORD, for you have not followed my decrees or kept my laws but have conformed to the standards of the nations around you."

13 Now as I was prophesying, Pelatiah son of Benaiah died. Then I fell facedown and cried out in a loud voice, "Alas, Sovereign LORD! Will you completely destroy the remnant of Israel?"

14 The word of the LORD came to me:

15 "Son of man, the people of Jerusalem have said of your fellow exiles and all the other Israelites, 'They are far away from the LORD; this land was given to us as our possession.'

16 "Therefore say: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Although I sent them far away among the nations and scattered them among the countries, yet for a little while I have been a sanctuary for them in the countries where they have gone.'

17 "Therefore say: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will gather you from the nations and bring you back from the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you back the land of Israel again.'

18 "They will return to it and remove all its vile images and detestable idols.

19 I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh.

20 Then they will follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. They will be my people, and I will be their God.

21 But as for those whose hearts are devoted to their vile images and detestable idols, I will bring down on their own heads what they have done, declares the Sovereign LORD."

22 Then the cherubim, with the wheels beside them, spread their wings, and the glory of the God of Israel was above them.

23 The glory of the LORD went up from within the city and stopped above the mountain east of it.

24 The Spirit lifted me up and brought me to the exiles in Babylonia "in the vision given by the Spirit of God. Then the vision I had seen went up from me,

25 and I told the exiles everything the LORD had shown me.
