1 Se um homem tomar uma mulher e se casar com ela, e se ela não for agradável aos seus olhos, por ter ele achado coisa indecente nela, e se ele lhe lavrar um termo de divórcio, e lho der na mão, e a despedir de casa; 2 e se ela, saindo da sua casa, for e se casar com outro homem; 3 e se este a aborrecer, e lhe lavrar termo de divórcio, e lho der na mão, e a despedir da sua casa ou se este último homem, que a tomou para si por mulher, vier a morrer, 4 então, seu primeiro marido, que a despediu, não poderá tornar a desposá-la para que seja sua mulher, depois que foi contaminada, pois é abominação perante o Senhor; assim, não farás pecar a terra que o Senhor, teu Deus, te dá por herança.

5 Homem recém-casado não sairá à guerra, nem se lhe imporá qualquer encargo; por um ano ficará livre em casa e promoverá felicidade à mulher que tomou.

6 Não se tomarão em penhor as duas mós, nem apenas a de cima, pois se penhoraria, assim, a vida.

7 Se se achar alguém que, tendo roubado um dentre os seus irmãos, dos filhos de Israel, o trata como escravo ou o vende, esse ladrão morrerá. Assim, eliminarás o mal do meio de ti.

8 Guarda-te da praga da lepra e tem diligente cuidado de fazer segundo tudo o que te ensinarem os sacerdotes levitas; como lhes tenho ordenado, terás cuidado de o fazer. 9 Lembra-te do que o Senhor, teu Deus, fez a Miriã no caminho, quando saíste do Egito. 10 Se emprestares alguma coisa ao teu próximo, não entrarás em sua casa para lhe tirar o penhor. 11 Ficarás do lado de fora, e o homem, a quem emprestaste, aí te trará o penhor. 12 Porém, se for homem pobre, não usarás de noite o seu penhor; 13 em se pondo o sol, restituir-lhe-ás, sem falta, o penhor para que durma no seu manto e te abençoe; isto te será justiça diante do Senhor, teu Deus.

14 Não oprimirás o jornaleiro pobre e necessitado, seja ele teu irmão ou estrangeiro que está na tua terra e na tua cidade. 15 No seu dia, lhe darás o seu salário, antes do pôr do sol, porquanto é pobre, e disso depende a sua vida; para que não clame contra ti ao Senhor, e haja em ti pecado.

16 Os pais não serão mortos em lugar dos filhos, nem os filhos, em lugar dos pais; cada qual será morto pelo seu pecado.

17 Não perverterás o direito do estrangeiro e do órfão; nem tomarás em penhor a roupa da viúva. 18 Lembrar-te-ás de que foste escravo no Egito e de que o Senhor te livrou dali; pelo que te ordeno que faças isso.

19 Quando, no teu campo, segares a messe e, nele, esqueceres um feixe de espigas, não voltarás a tomá-lo; para o estrangeiro, para o órfão e para a viúva será; para que o Senhor, teu Deus, te abençoe em toda obra das tuas mãos. 20 Quando sacudires a tua oliveira, não voltarás a colher o fruto dos ramos; para o estrangeiro, para o órfão e para a viúva será. 21 Quando vindimares a tua vinha, não tornarás a rebuscá-la; para o estrangeiro, para o órfão e para a viúva será o restante. 22 Lembrar-te-ás de que foste escravo na terra do Egito; pelo que te ordeno que faças isso.

1 When a man taketh a wife, and marrieth her, it shall be if she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some unseemly thing in her, that he shall write her a letter of divorce, and give it into her hand, and send her out of his house.

2 And she shall depart out of his house, and go away, and may become another man's wife.

3 And if the latter husband hate her, and write her a letter of divorce, and give it into her hand, and send her out of his house; or if the latter husband die who took her as his wife;

4 her first husband, who sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for it is an abomination before Jehovah; and thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which Jehovah thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.

5 When a man hath newly taken a wife, he shall not go out with the army, neither shall any kind of business be imposed upon him; he shall be free for his house one year, and shall gladden his wife whom he hath taken.

6 No man shall take the hand-mill or the upper millstone in pledge; for it would be taking life in pledge.

7 If a man be found who hath stolen one of his brethren of the children of Israel, and who hath treated him as a slave and sold him, that thief shall die; and thou shalt put evil away from thy midst.

8 Take heed in the plague of leprosy, that thou take great heed, and do according to all that the priests the Levites shall teach you: as I commanded them shall ye take heed to do.

9 Remember what Jehovah thy God did unto Miriam on the way, after that ye came forth out of Egypt.

10 When thou dost lend thy brother anything, thou shalt not go into his house to secure his pledge.

11 Thou shalt stand outside, and the man to whom thou hast made a loan shall bring out the pledge to thee without.

12 And if the man be needy, thou shalt not lie down with his pledge;

13 in any case thou shalt return him the pledge at the going down of the sun, that he may sleep in his own upper garment and bless thee; and it shall be righteousness unto thee before Jehovah thy God.

14 Thou shalt not oppress a hired servant {who is} poor and needy of thy brethren, or of thy sojourners who are in thy land within thy gates:

15 on his day thou shalt give him his hire, neither shall the sun go down upon it; for he is poor, and his soul yearneth after it; lest he cry against thee to Jehovah, and it be a sin in thee.

16 The fathers shall not be put to death for the sons, neither shall the sons be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

17 Thou shalt not pervert the judgment of the stranger, {or} of the fatherless; and thou shalt not take in pledge a widow's garment.

18 And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in Egypt, and that Jehovah thy God redeemed thee from thence; therefore I command thee to do this thing.

19 When thou reapest thy harvest in thy field, and forgettest a sheaf in the field, thou shalt not return to fetch it; it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow; that Jehovah thy God may bless thee in all the work of thy hands.

20 When thou shakest thine olive-tree, thou shalt not go over the boughs again; it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.

21 When thou gatherest the grapes of thy vineyard, thou shalt not glean it afterwards; it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.

22 And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in the land of Egypt; therefore I command thee to do this thing.

1 Quando um homem tomar uma mulher e se casar com ela, se ela não achar graça aos seus olhos, por lhe haver ele encontrado alguma coisa indecente, far-lhe-á uma carta de repúdio e lha dará na mão e a despedirá de sua casa.

2 Tendo ela saído da casa dele, poderá ir e tornar-se mulher de outro homem.

3 Se o segundo marido a aborrecer, dando-lhe na mão uma carta de repúdio e despedindo-a de casa; ou se este último homem que a tomou por mulher, vier a falecer;

4 então o primeiro marido, que a despediu, não poderá tornar a recebê-la por mulher, depois que foi contaminada; pois isso é abominável diante de Jeová. Não farás pecar a terra que Jeová teu Deus te está dando por herança.

5 Quando um homem for recém-casado, não sairá à guerra, nem lhe será imposto qualquer cargo público. Ficará livre para cuidar de sua casa por um ano, e animará a mulher que tomou.

6 Ninguém tomará em penhor as duas mós, nem a mó de cima, porque ele toma em penhor a vida mesma.

7 Se se achar um homem que tiver furtado em seu irmão dos filhos de Israel, e o tratar como escravo, ou vender; esse ladrão morrerá. Assim exterminarás o mal do meio de ti.

8 Toma cuidado na praga da lepra de observar bem e de fazer segundo tudo o que os levitas sacerdotes te ensinarem; conforme lhes ordenei, assim cuidareis de fazer.

9 Lembra-te do que Jeová teu Deus fez a Miriã no caminho quando saíste do Egito.

10 Quando fizeres qualquer empréstimo ao teu próximo, não entrarás em sua casa para lhe tirar o penhor.

11 Ficarás do lado de fora, e o homem a quem fizeste o empréstimo, te trará para fora o penhor.

12 Se for homem pobre, não te deitarás no seu penhor;

13 sem falta lhe restituirás o penhor, ao pôr-se o sol, para que durma no seu manto e te abençoe. Isso te será justiça diante de Jeová teu Deus.

14 Não defraudarás o jornaleiro pobre e necessitado, ou seja ele de teus irmãos ou seja ele dos teus peregrinos que estão na tua terra das tuas portas para dentro.

15 No seu dia lhe darás o seu jornal, e isso se fará antes do sol posto; porque é pobre, e nisso põe o seu coração. Não suceda que ele clame contra ti a Jeová e isso te seja pecado.

16 Não se farão morrer os pais pelos filhos, nem os filhos pelos pais; cada homem será morto pelo seu próprio pecado.

17 Não perverterás o direito do peregrino nem do órfão; nem tomarás em penhor o vestido da viúva.

18 Lembrar-te-ás que foste escravo no Egito, e dali te remiu Jeová teu Deus; portanto, eu te ordeno que faças isso.

19 Quando segares a messe do teu campo, e tiveres esquecido uma gavela no campo, não voltarás para a levares; será para o peregrino, para o órfão e para a viúva, a fim de que Jeová teu Deus te abençoe em todas as obras das tuas mãos.

20 Quando bateres a tua oliveira, não tornarás a colher o fruto dos ramos; será para o peregrino, para o órfão e para a viúva.

21 Quando vindimares a tua vinha, não tornarás a colher os cachos que ficarem; o que ficar será para o peregrino, para o órfão e para a viúva.

22 Lembrar-te-ás de que foste escravo na terra do Egito; portanto eu te ordeno que faças isto.
