1 君王的心在耶和华手中， 好像水沟的水， 他可以随意转移。
2 人看自己一切所行的， 都是正直的； 耶和华却衡量人心。
3 秉公行义， 比献祭更蒙耶和华悦纳。
4 高傲的眼、傲慢的心， 恶人的灯， 都是罪恶。
5 殷勤人的筹划必使他获利； 行事急躁的必致贫穷。
6 凭撒谎的舌头得来的财宝， 是飘荡的浮云、死亡的追寻。
7 恶人的暴行必拖累自己； 因为他们不肯秉行公正。
8 罪人的道路充满狡诈， 清洁的人， 行为正直。
9 宁可住在房顶的一角， 也不跟吵闹的妇人同住一间房屋。
10 恶人的心只求邪恶， 他的眼并不顾惜邻舍。
11 好讥笑人的受刑罚的时候， 愚蒙人就得着智慧； 智慧人受训诲的时候， 他就得着知识。
12 公义的 神留意恶人的家， 使恶人在祸患中毁灭。
13 塞耳不听贫穷人呼求的， 他将来呼求， 也得不到应允。
14 暗中送的礼物， 可以平息怒气， 怀里藏的贿赂， 能平息暴怒。
15 秉行公正， 使义人喜乐， 却使作孽的人恐惧。
16 偏离明慧之道的人， 必住在阴魂的会中。
17 贪爱享乐的， 必成为穷乏人； 好酒爱脂油的， 必不会富足。
18 恶人作了义人的赎价， 奸诈人作了正直人的替身。
19 宁可住在野地， 也不跟吵闹易怒的妇人同住。
20 智慧人的居所中， 积存珍贵的财物和油； 愚昧人却把他所有的挥霍耗尽。
21 追求公义与慈爱的， 必得着生命、公义和荣耀。
22 智慧人登上勇士的城， 倾覆他倚靠的坚垒。
23 谨守口舌的， 保护自己免受患难。
24 骄傲自大的人， 他的名字是好讥笑人的； 他行事狂妄骄傲。
25 懒惰人的愿望害死自己， 因为他的手不肯工作。
26 他终日贪得无厌， 但义人施予毫不吝啬。
27 恶人的祭物是耶和华所厌恶的， 更何况是怀着恶念来献的呢？
28 作假见证的必要灭亡， 聆听真情的人， 他的话长存。
29 恶人厚颜无耻， 正直人却坚定他的道路。
30 任何智慧、聪明、谋略都不能敌挡耶和华。
31 马是为打仗之日预备的， 胜利却在于耶和华。
1 The king’s heart is in the hand of Jehovah as the watercourses:
He turneth it whithersoever he will.
2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes;
But Jehovah weigheth the hearts.
3 To do righteousness and justice
Is more acceptable to Jehovah than sacrifice.
4 A high look, and a proud heart,
Even the lamp of the wicked, is sin.
5 The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness;
But every one that is hasty hasteth only to want.
6 The getting of treasures by a lying tongue
Is a vapor driven to and fro by them that seek death.
7 The violence of the wicked shall sweep them away,
Because they refuse to do justice.
8 The way of him that is laden with guilt is exceeding crooked;
But as for the pure, his work is right.
9 It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop,
Than with a contentious woman in a wide house.
10 The soul of the wicked desireth evil:
His neighbor findeth no favor in his eyes.
11 When the scoffer is punished, the simple is made wise;
And when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge.
12 The righteous man considereth the house of the wicked,
How the wicked are overthrown to their ruin.
13 Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor,
He also shall cry, but shall not be heard.
14 A gift in secret pacifieth anger;
And a present in the bosom, strong wrath.
15 It is joy to the righteous to do justice;
But it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity.
16 The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding
Shall rest in the assembly of the dead.
17 He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man:
He that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.
18 The wicked is a ransom for the righteous;
And the treacherous cometh in the stead of the upright.
19 It is better to dwell in a desert land,
Than with a contentious and fretful woman.
20 There is precious treasure and oil in the dwelling of the wise;
But a foolish man swalloweth it up.
21 He that followeth after righteousness and kindness
Findeth life, righteousness, and honor.
22 A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty,
And bringeth down the strength of the confidence thereof.
23 Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue
Keepeth his soul from troubles.
24 The proud and haughty man, scoffer is his name;
He worketh in the arrogance of pride.
25 The desire of the sluggard killeth him;
For his hands refuse to labor.
26 There is that coveteth greedily all the day long;
But the righteous giveth and withholdeth not.
27 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination;
How much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind!
28 A false witness shall perish;
But the man that heareth shall speak so as to endure.
29 A wicked man hardeneth his face;
But as for the upright, he establisheth his ways.
30 There is no wisdom nor understanding
Nor counsel against Jehovah.
31 The horse is prepared against the day of battle;
But victory is of Jehovah.
