1 After these things I saw, and behold, a door opened in heaven, and the first voice which I heard as of a trumpet speaking with me, saying, Come up here, and I will shew thee the things which must take place after these things. 2 Immediately I became in the Spirit; and behold, a throne stood in the heaven, and upon the throne one sitting, 3 and he that was sitting like in appearance to a stone of jasper and a sardius, and a rainbow round the throne like in appearance to an emerald. 4 And round the throne twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones twenty-four elders sitting, clothed with white garments; and on their heads golden crowns. 5 And out of the throne go forth lightnings, and voices, and thunders; and seven lamps of fire, burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God; 6 and before the throne, as a glass sea, like crystal. And in the midst of the throne, and around the throne, four living creatures, full of eyes, before and behind; 7 and the first living creature like a lion, and the second living creature like a calf, and the third living creature having the face as of a man, and the fourth living creature like a flying eagle.

8 And the four living creatures, each one of them having respectively six wings; round and within they are full of eyes; and they cease not day and night saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, who was, and who is, and who is to come. 9 And when the living creatures shall give glory and honour and thanksgiving to him that sits upon the throne, who lives to the ages of ages, 10 the twenty-four elders shall fall before him that sits upon the throne, and do homage to him that lives to the ages of ages; and shall cast their crowns before the throne, saying, 11 Thou art worthy, O our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honour and power; for thou hast created all things, and for thy will they were, and they have been created.

Glasul*Cap. 1:10. cel dintâi, pe care-l auzisem ca sunetul unei trâmbițe și care vorbea cu mine, mi-a zis: „Suie-te*Cap. 11:12. aici și-ți*Cap. 1:19;22:6. voi arăta ce are să se întâmple după aceste lucruri!" 2 Numaidecât am*Cap. 1:10;17:3;21:10. fost răpit în Duhul. Și iată că în cer era pus un scaun*Is. 6:1.Ier. 17:12.Ezec. 1:26;10:1.Dan. 7:9. de domnie, și pe scaunul acesta de domnie ședea Cineva. 3 Cel ce ședea pe el avea înfățișarea unei pietre de iaspis și de sardiu și scaunul de domnie era înconjurat cu un curcubeu*Ezec. 1:28. ca o piatră de smarald la vedere. 4 Împrejurul*Cap. 11:16. scaunului de domnie stăteau douăzeci și patru de scaune de domnie; și pe aceste scaune de domnie stăteau douăzeci și patru de bătrâni îmbrăcați*Cap. 3:4,5;6:11;7:9,13,14;19:14. în haine albe și*Vers. 10. pe capete aveau cununi de aur. 5 Din scaunul de domnie ieșeau fulgere*Cap. 8:5;16:18., glasuri și tunete.

Înaintea scaunului de domnie ardeau*Exod 37:23.2 Cron. 4:20.Ezec. 1:13.Zah. 4:2. șapte lămpi de foc, care sunt cele*Cap. 1:4;3:1;5:6. șapte Duhuri ale lui Dumnezeu. 6 În fața scaunului de domnie mai este un fel de mare*Exod 38:8. Cap. 15:2. de sticlă, asemenea cu cristalul. În*Ezec. 1:5. mijlocul scaunului de domnie și împrejurul scaunului de domnie stau patru făpturi vii, pline cu ochi pe dinainte și*Vers. 8. pe dinapoi. 7 Cea*Num. 2:2.Ezec. 1:10;10:14. dintâi făptură vie seamănă cu un leu; a doua seamănă cu un vițel; a treia are fața ca a unui om; și a patra seamănă cu un vultur care zboară. 8 Fiecare din aceste patru făpturi vii avea câte șase*Is. 6:2. aripi și era plină cu ochi de jur împrejur și pe dinăuntru*Vers. 6.. Zi și noapte ziceau fără încetare: „Sfânt*Is. 6:3., Sfânt, Sfânt este Domnul*Cap. 1:8. Dumnezeu, Cel*Cap. 1:4. Atotputernic, care era, care este, care vine!" 9 Când aceste făpturi vii aduceau slavă, cinste și mulțumiri Celui ce ședea pe scaunul de domnie și care*Cap. 1:18;5:14;15:7. este viu în vecii vecilor, 10 cei*Cap. 5:8,14. douăzeci și patru de bătrâni cădeau înaintea Celui ce ședea pe scaunul de domnie și*Vers. 9. se închinau Celui ce este viu în vecii vecilor, își*Vers. 4. aruncau cununile înaintea scaunului de domnie și ziceau: 11 „Vrednic*Cap. 5:12. ești, Doamne și Dumnezeul nostru, să primești slava, cinstea și puterea, căci*Gen. 1:1.Fapte 17:24.Efes. 3:9.Col. 1:11. Cap. 10:6. Tu ai făcut toate lucrurile și prin voia Ta stau în ființă și au fost făcute!"
