1 Thou shalt love then Jehovah thy God*GodHebrew: Elohim and keep his charge, and his statutes, and his ordinances, and his commandments continually. 2 And know ye this day...; for I speak not with your children who have not known, and who have not seen the chastisement of Jehovah your God*GodHebrew: Elohim his greatness, his powerful hand, and his stretched-out arm, 3 and his signs and his acts which he did in the midst of Egypt unto Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and unto all his land; 4 and what he did unto the army of Egypt, unto their horses, and unto their chariots, over which he made the water of the Red sea flow as they pursued after you, and Jehovah destroyed them unto this day; 5 — and what he did unto you in the wilderness, until ye came to this place; 6 and what he did unto Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben, — how the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up, with their households, and their tents, and all the living substance that belonged to them, in the midst of all Israel. 7 For your eyes have seen all the great work of Jehovah which he hath done.

8 Keep then all the commandment which I command you this day, that ye may be strong, and enter in and possess the land, whither ye pass over to possess it; 9 and that ye may prolong your days in the land which Jehovah swore unto your fathers to give unto them and unto their seed, a land flowing with milk and honey. 10 For the land, whither thou enterest in to possess it, is not as the land of Egypt, from whence ye came out, where thou sowedst thy seed, and wateredst it with thy foot, as a garden of herbs; 11 but the land, whereunto ye are passing over to possess it, is a land of mountains and valleys, which drinketh water of the rain of heaven, 12 a land which Jehovah thy God*GodHebrew: Elohim careth for; the eyes of Jehovah thy God*GodHebrew: Elohim are constantly upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year. 13 And it shall come to pass, if ye hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love Jehovah your God*GodHebrew: Elohim and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul, 14 that I will give rain to your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain; and thou shalt gather in thy corn, and thy new wine, and thine oil; 15 and I will give grass in thy field for thy cattle; and thou shalt eat and be full. 16 Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside and serve other gods, and bow down to them, 17 and Jehovah’s wrath kindle against you, and he shut up the heavens, that there be no rain, and that the ground yield not its produce, and ye perish quickly from off the good land which Jehovah is giving you.

18 And ye shall lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, and they shall be for frontlets between your eyes. 19 And ye shall teach them unto your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thy house, and when thou goest on the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up; 20 and write them upon the posts of thy house, and upon thy gates; 21 that your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which Jehovah swore unto your fathers to give them, as the days of the heavens which are above the earth. 22 For if ye diligently keep all this commandment which I command you this day to do it, to love Jehovah your God*GodHebrew: Elohim to walk in all his ways, and to cleave unto him, 23 then will Jehovah dispossess all these nations from before you, and ye shall take possession of nations greater and mightier than yourselves. 24 Every place whereon the sole of your foot shall tread shall be yours; from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even unto the hinder sea shall your border be. 25 No man shall be able to stand before you: the fear of you and the dread of you will Jehovah your God*GodHebrew: Elohim lay upon all the land that ye shall tread upon, as he hath said unto you.

26 See, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse: 27 a blessing, if ye obey the commandments of Jehovah your God*GodHebrew: Elohim which I command you this day; 28 and a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of Jehovah your God*GodHebrew: Elohim but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods which ye have not known. 29 And it shall come to pass, when Jehovah thy God*GodHebrew: Elohim hath brought thee into the land whither thou enterest in to possess it, that thou shalt put the blessing upon mount Gerizim, and the curse upon mount Ebal. 30 Are they not on the other side of the Jordan, beyond the way toward the going down of the sun, in the land of the Canaanites that dwell on the plain opposite to Gilgal, beside the oaks of Moreh? 31 For ye pass over the Jordan to enter in to possess the land which Jehovah your God*GodHebrew: Elohim giveth you, and ye shall take possession of it, and dwell therein. 32 And ye shall take heed to do all the statutes and ordinances which I set before you this day.

Lui și faptele pe care le-a săvârșit în mijlocul Egiptului împotriva lui Faraon, împăratul Egiptului, și împotriva întregii lui țări. 4 Recunoașteți ce a făcut El oștirii Egiptului, cailor lui și carelor lui, cum*Exod 14:27,28;15:9,10.Ps. 106:11. a făcut să vină peste ei apele Mării Roșii, 5 când vă urmăreau, și i-a nimicit pentru totdeauna; 6 ce v-a făcut în pustie, până la venirea voastră în locul acesta; ce a făcut*Num. 16:1,31;27:3.Ps. 106:17. lui Datan și lui Abiram, fiii lui Eliab, fiul lui Ruben, cum pământul și-a deschis gura și i-a înghițit, cu casele și corturile lor și cu tot ce aveau în mijlocul întregului Israel. 7 Căci ați văzut cu ochii*Cap. 5:3;7:19. voștri toate lucrurile mari pe care le-a făcut Domnul. 8 Astfel, să păziți toate poruncile pe care vi le dau eu astăzi, ca să puteți*Ios. 1:6,7. pune mâna pe țara în care veți trece ca s-o luați în stăpânire 9 și să aveți zile*Cap. 4:40;5:16.Prov. 10:27. multe în țara pe care*Cap. 9:5. Domnul a jurat părinților voștri că le-o va da, lor și seminței lor, țară*Exod 3:8. în care curge lapte și miere. 10 Căci țara în stăpânirea căreia vei intra nu este ca țara Egiptului, din care ați ieșit, unde*Zah. 14:18. îți aruncai sămânța în ogoare și le udai cu piciorul ca pe o grădină de zarzavat. 11 Țara*Cap. 8:7. pe care o veți stăpâni este o țară cu munți și văi, care se adapă din ploaia cerului; 12 este o țară de care îngrijește Domnul Dumnezeul tău și asupra*1 Împ. 9:3. căreia Domnul Dumnezeul tău are neîncetat ochii, de la începutul până la sfârșitul anului. 13 Dacă veți asculta*Vers. 22. Cap. 6:17. de poruncile mele pe care vi le dau astăzi, dacă veți iubi*Cap. 10:12. pe Domnul Dumnezeul vostru și dacă-I veți sluji din toată inima voastră și din tot sufletul vostru, 14 El*Lev. 26:4. Cap. 28:12. va da țării voastre ploaie la vreme, ploaie*Ioel 2:23.Iac. 5:7. timpurie și ploaie târzie, și-ți vei strânge grâul, mustul și untdelemnul; 15 de asemenea, va*Ps. 104:14. da iarbă în câmpiile tale pentru vite și vei mânca*Cap. 6:11.Ioel 2:19. și te vei sătura. 16 Vedeți să nu vi se amăgească inima*Cap. 29:18.Iov 31:27. și să vă abateți ca să slujiți*Cap. 8:19;30:17. altor dumnezei și să vă închinați înaintea lor. 17 Căci atunci Domnul S-ar aprinde*Cap. 6:15. de mânie împotriva voastră; ar închide cerurile*1 Împ. 8:35.2 Cron. 6:26;7:13. și n-ar mai fi ploaie; pământul nu și-ar mai da roadele și ați pieri curând*Cap. 4:26;8:19,20;30:18.Ios. 23:13,15,16. din țara aceea bună pe care v-o dă Domnul.

18 Puneți-vă*Cap. 6:6;32:46. dar în inimă și în suflet aceste cuvinte pe care vi le spun. Să le legați*Cap. 6:8. ca un semn de aducere aminte pe mâinile voastre și să fie ca niște fruntarii între ochii voștri. 19 Să învățați*Cap. 4:9,10;6:7. pe copiii voștri în ele și să le vorbești despre ele când vei fi acasă, când vei merge în călătorie, când te vei culca și când te vei scula. 20 Să le*Cap. 6:9. scrii pe ușorii casei tale și pe porțile tale. 21 Și atunci, zilele voastre*Cap. 4:40;6:2.Prov. 3:2;4:10;9:11. și zilele copiilor voștri, în țara pe care Domnul a jurat părinților voștri că le-o va da, vor fi tot atât de multe cât*Ps. 72:5;89:29. vor fi zilele cerurilor deasupra pământului. 22 Căci dacă veți*Vers. 13. Cap. 6:17. păzi toate aceste porunci pe care vi le dau și dacă le veți împlini, dacă veți iubi pe Domnul Dumnezeul vostru, veți umbla în toate căile Lui și vă veți alipi*Cap. 10:20;30:20. de El, 23 Domnul va izgoni*Cap. 4:38;9:5. dinaintea voastră pe toate aceste neamuri și vă veți face stăpâni pe toate aceste neamuri*Cap. 9:1., care sunt mai mari și mai puternice decât voi. 24 Orice loc*Ios. 1:3;14:9. pe care-l va călca talpa piciorului vostru va fi al vostru: hotarul vostru se va întinde din*Gen. 15:18.Exod 23:31.Num. 34:3. pustie până la Liban și de la râul Eufrat până la Marea de Apus. 25 Nimeni*Cap. 7:24. nu va putea să stea împotriva voastră. Domnul Dumnezeul vostru va răspândi, cum*Cap. 2:25. v-a spus, frica*Exod 23:27. și groaza de tine peste toată țara în care veți merge.

26 Iată*Cap. 30:1,15,19., pun azi înaintea voastră binecuvântarea și blestemul: 27 binecuvântarea*Cap. 28:2., dacă veți asculta de poruncile Domnului Dumnezeului vostru pe care vi le dau în ziua aceasta; 28 blestemul*Cap. 28:15., dacă nu veți asculta de poruncile Domnului Dumnezeului vostru și dacă vă veți abate de la calea pe care v-o dau în ziua aceasta și vă veți duce după alți dumnezei pe care nu-i cunoașteți. 29 Și când Domnul Dumnezeul tău te va aduce în țara pe care o vei lua în stăpânire, să rostești binecuvântarea*Cap. 27:12,13.Ios. 8:33. pe muntele Garizim și blestemul pe muntele Ebal. 30 Munții aceștia sunt dincolo de Iordan, înapoia drumului care merge spre apus, în țara canaaniților care locuiesc în câmpie, față în față cu Ghilgal, lângă stejarii*Gen. 12:6.Jud. 7:1. More. 31 Căci veți*Cap. 9:1.Ios. 1:11. trece Iordanul și veți intra în stăpânirea țării pe care v-o dă Domnul Dumnezeul vostru, ca s-o stăpâniți și să locuiți în ea. 32 Să păziți și*Cap. 5:32;12:32. să împliniți toate legile și poruncile pe care vi le dau eu astăzi.
