1 Thou shalt not see thy brother’s ox or his sheep go astray, and hide thyself from them: thou shalt in any case bring them back unto thy brother. 2 And if thy brother be not near unto thee, and thou know him not, then thou shalt bring it unto thy house, and it shall be with thee until thy brother seek after it, and thou shalt restore it unto him. 3 And so shalt thou do with his ass; and so shalt thou do with his clothing; and so shalt thou do with everything that is lost of thy brother, which he loseth, and thou findest: thou mayest not hide thyself. 4 Thou shalt not see thy brother’s ass or his ox fall by the way, and hide thyself from them: thou shalt in any case help him to lift them up.

5 There shall not be a man’s apparel on a woman, neither shall a man put on a woman’s clothing; for whoever doeth so is an abomination to Jehovah thy God*GodHebrew: Elohim6 If a bird’s nest chance to be before thee in the way, in any tree, or upon the ground, with young or with eggs, and the dam sitting upon the young or upon the eggs, thou shalt not take the dam with the young: 7 thou shalt in any case let the dam go, and thou mayest take the young to thee, that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days. 8 When thou buildest a new house, thou shalt make a parapet for thy roof, that thou bring not blood upon thy house, if any one should in any wise fall from it. 9 Thou shalt not sow thy vineyard with seed of two sorts, lest the whole of thy seed which thou hast sown, and the produce of thy vineyard, be forfeited. 10 Thou shalt not plough with an ox and an ass together. 11 Thou shalt not wear a garment of mixed material, woven of wool and linen together. 12 Tassels shalt thou make thee on the four corners of thy clothing, wherewith thou coverest thyself.

13 If a man take a wife, and go in unto her and hate her, 14 and charge her with things for scandalous talk, and cause an evil name against her to be spread abroad, and say, This woman have I taken, and I came in unto her, and I did not find her a virgin; 15 then shall the father of the damsel, and her mother, take and bring forth the tokens of the damsel’s virginity unto the elders of the city in the gate; 16 and the damsel’s father shall say unto the elders, I gave my daughter unto this man as wife, and he hates her; 17 and behold, he charges her with things for scandalous talk, saying, I found not thy daughter a virgin; and here are the tokens of my daughter’s virginity. And they shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city. 18 And the elders of that city shall take the man and chastise him; 19 and they shall fine him a hundred shekels of silver, and give them unto the father of the damsel, because he hath caused an evil name to be spread abroad against a virgin in Israel. And she shall remain his wife: he may not put her away all his days. 20 But if this thing is true, and virginity hath not been found with the damsel; 21 then they shall bring out the damsel unto the entrance of her father’s house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought infamy in Israel, committing fornication in her father’s house; and thou shalt put evil away from thy midst. 22 If a man be found lying with a man’s wife, they shall both of them die, the man that lay with the woman, and the woman; and thou shalt put away evil from Israel. 23 If a damsel, a virgin, be betrothed to some one, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her, 24 then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and stone them with stones that they die; the damsel, because she cried not, being in the city, and the man, because he hath humbled his neighbour’s wife; and thou shalt put evil away from thy midst. 25 But if a man find a betrothed damsel in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her, then the man only that lay with her shall die; 26 and unto the damsel thou shalt do nothing: there is in the damsel no sin worthy of death; for as when a man riseth against his neighbour, and murdereth him, so is this matter; 27 for he found her in the field, the betrothed damsel cried, and there was no one to save her. 28 If a man find a damsel, a virgin, who is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found, 29 then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel’s father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife, because he hath humbled her; he may not put her away all his days. 30 A man shall not take his father’s wife, nor uncover his father’s skirt.

5 Femeia să nu poarte îmbrăcăminte bărbătească, și bărbatul să nu se îmbrace cu haine femeiești, căci oricine face lucrurile acestea este o urâciune înaintea Domnului Dumnezeului tău. 6 Dacă întâlnești pe drum un cuib de pasăre, într-un copac sau pe pământ, cu pui sau ouă și mama lor șezând peste pui sau peste ouă, să nu iei*Lev. 22:28. și pe mamă, și pe puii ei, 7 ci să dai drumul mamei și să nu iei decât puii, ca*Cap. 4:40. să fii fericit și să ai zile multe. 8 Când zidești o casă nouă, să-ți faci un pălimar împrejurul acoperișului, ca să nu aduci vină de sânge asupra casei tale, dacă s-ar întâmpla să cadă cineva de pe ea. 9 Să nu*Lev. 19:19. semeni în via ta două feluri de semințe, ca nu cumva să întinezi și rodul seminței pe care ai semănat-o, și rodul viei. 10 Să nu ari*2 Cor. 6:14-16. cu un bou și un măgar înjugați împreună. 11 Să nu*Lev. 19:19. porți o haină țesută din felurite fire, din lână și in unite împreună. 12 Să faci ciucuri*Num. 15:38.Mat. 23:5. la cele patru colțuri ale hainei cu care te vei înveli.

13 Dacă un om care și-a luat o nevastă și s-a împreunat*Gen. 29:21.Jud. 15:1. cu ea o urăște, 14 apoi o învinuiește de lucruri nelegiuite și-i scoate nume rău, zicând: ‘Am luat pe femeia aceasta, m-am apropiat de ea și n-am găsit-o fecioară’, 15 atunci tatăl și mama fetei să ia semnele fecioriei ei și să le aducă înaintea bătrânilor cetății, la poartă. 16 Tatăl fetei să spună bătrânilor: ‘Am dat pe fiică-mea de nevastă omului acestuia, și el a început s-o urască; 17 acum o învinuiește de lucruri nelegiuite, zicând: «N-am găsit fecioară pe fiică-ta.» Dar iată semnele fecioriei fetei mele.’ Și să desfacă haina ei înaintea bătrânilor cetății. 18 Bătrânii cetății să ia atunci pe omul acela și să-l pedepsească 19 și, pentru că a scos nume rău unei fecioare din Israel, să-l osândească la o gloabă de o sută de sicli de argint, pe care să-i dea tatălui fetei. Ea să rămână nevasta lui, și el nu va putea s-o gonească toată viața lui. 20 Dar dacă faptul este adevărat, dacă fata nu s-a găsit fecioară, 21 să scoată pe fată la ușa casei tatălui ei, să fie ucisă cu pietre de oamenii din cetate și să moară, pentru că a săvârșit*Gen. 34:7.Jud. 20:6,10.2 Sam. 13:12,13. o mișelie în Israel, curvind în casa tatălui ei. Să curățești*Cap. 13:5. astfel răul din mijlocul tău.

22 Dacă*Lev. 20:10.Ioan 8:5. se va găsi un bărbat culcat cu o femeie măritată, să moară amândoi: și bărbatul care s-a culcat cu femeia, și femeia. Să curățești astfel răul din mijlocul lui Israel. 23 Dacă o fată fecioară*Mat. 1:18,19. este logodită și o întâlnește un om în cetate și se culcă cu ea, 24 să-i aduceți pe amândoi la poarta cetății, să-i ucideți cu pietre și să moară amândoi: fata pentru că n-a țipat în cetate și omul pentru că a necinstit*Cap. 21:14. pe nevasta aproapelui său. Să curățești*Vers. 21,22. astfel răul din mijlocul tău. 25 Dar dacă omul acela întâlnește în câmp pe fata logodită, o apucă cu sila și se culcă cu ea, numai omul care s-a culcat cu ea să fie pedepsit cu moartea. 26 Fetei să nu-i faci nimic; ea nu este vinovată de o nelegiuire vrednică de pedeapsa cu moartea, căci e ca și cu un om care se aruncă asupra aproapelui lui și-l omoară. 27 Fata logodită pe care a întâlnit-o omul acela pe câmp a putut să strige fără să fie cineva să-i sară în ajutor. 28 Dacă un*Exod 22:16,17. om întâlnește o fată fecioară nelogodită, o apucă cu sila și se culcă cu ea și se întâmplă să fie prinși, 29 omul care s-a culcat cu ea să dea tatălui fetei cincizeci de sicli de argint și, pentru că a necinstit-o*Vers. 24., s-o ia de nevastă și nu va putea s-o gonească toată viața lui. 30 Nimeni*Lev. 18:8;20:11. Cap. 27:20.1 Cor. 5:1. să nu ia pe nevasta tatălui său și nici să nu ridice învelitoarea*Rut 3:9.Ezec. 16:8. tatălui său.
