1 And Moses and the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, Keep all the commandment which I command you this day. 2 And it shall be on the day when ye pass over the Jordan unto the land which Jehovah thy God*GodHebrew: Elohim giveth thee, that thou shalt set thee up great stones, and plaster them with plaster: 3 and thou shalt write upon them all the words of this law, when thou goest over that thou mayest enter into the land which Jehovah thy God*GodHebrew: Elohim giveth thee, a land flowing with milk and honey, as Jehovah the God*GodHebrew: Elohim of thy fathers hath promised thee. 4 And it shall be when ye go over the Jordan, that ye shall set up these stones, as I command you this day, on mount Ebal, and thou shalt plaster them with plaster. 5 And there shalt thou build an altar to Jehovah thy God*GodHebrew: Elohim an altar of stones; thou shalt not lift up an iron tool upon them; 6 of whole stones shalt thou build the altar of Jehovah thy God*GodHebrew: Elohim and thou shalt offer up burnt-offerings thereon to Jehovah thy God*GodHebrew: Elohim7 And thou shalt sacrifice peace-offerings, and shalt eat there, and rejoice before Jehovah thy God*GodHebrew: Elohim8 And thou shalt write upon the stones all the words of this law very plainly. 9 And Moses and the priests, the Levites, spoke to all Israel, saying, Be silent and hearken, Israel! this day thou art become the people of Jehovah thy God*GodHebrew: Elohim10 And thou shalt hearken unto the voice of Jehovah thy God*GodHebrew: Elohim and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day.

11 And Moses gave commandment to the people the same day, saying, 12 These shall stand to bless the people upon mount Gerizim, when ye have gone over the Jordan: Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Joseph, and Benjamin. 13 And these shall stand upon mount Ebal to curse: Reuben, Gad, and Asher, and Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali. 14 And the Levites shall declare and say unto all the men of Israel with a loud voice: 15 Cursed be the man that maketh a graven or molten image, an abomination to Jehovah, a work of the craftsman’s hand, and putteth it up secretly! And all the people shall answer and say, Amen. 16 Cursed be he that slighteth his father or his mother! And all the people shall say, Amen. 17 Cursed be he that removeth his neighbour’s landmark! And all the people shall say, Amen. 18 Cursed be he that maketh the blind to wander out of the way! And all the people shall say, Amen. 19 Cursed be he that perverteth the judgment of the stranger, fatherless, and widow! And all the people shall say, Amen. 20 Cursed be he that lieth with his father’s wife; for he uncovereth his father’s skirt! And all the people shall say, Amen. 21 Cursed be he that lieth with any manner of beast! And all the people shall say, Amen. 22 Cursed be he that lieth with his sister, the daughter of his father, or the daughter of his mother! And all the people shall say, Amen. 23 Cursed be he that lieth with his mother-in-law! And all the people shall say, Amen. 24 Cursed be he that smiteth his neighbour secretly! And all the people shall say, Amen. 25 Cursed be he that taketh reward to smite mortally shedding innocent blood! And all the people shall say, Amen. 26 Cursed be he that confirmeth not the words of this law to do them! And all the people shall say, Amen.

CAPITOLELE 27—30

1 Moise și bătrânii lui Israel au dat următoarea poruncă poporului: „Păziți toate poruncile pe care vi le dau astăzi. 2 După ce veți trece*Ios. 4:1. Iordanul, ca să intrați în țara pe care ți-o dă Domnul Dumnezeul tău, să ridici*Ios. 8:32. niște pietre mari și să le tencuiești cu var. 3 Să scrii pe pietrele acestea toate cuvintele din legea aceasta, după ce vei trece Iordanul, ca să intri în țara pe care ți-o dă Domnul Dumnezeul tău, țară în care curge lapte și miere, cum ți-a spus Domnul Dumnezeul părinților tăi. 4 După ce veți trece Iordanul, să ridicați pe muntele*Cap. 11:29.Ios. 8:30. Ebal pietrele acestea, pe care vă poruncesc azi să le ridicați, și să le tencuiți cu var. 5 Acolo, să zidești un altar Domnului Dumnezeului tău un altar de pietre, peste care să nu treacă*Exod 20:25.Ios. 8:31. fierul; 6 din pietre întregi să zidești altarul Domnului Dumnezeului tău. Să aduci pe altarul acesta arderi-de-tot Domnului Dumnezeului tău; 7 să aduci jertfe de mulțumire și să mănânci acolo și să te bucuri înaintea Domnului Dumnezeului tău. 8 Să scrii pe aceste pietre toate cuvintele legii acesteia, săpându-le foarte deslușit." 9 Moise și preoții din neamul leviților au vorbit întregului Israel și au zis: „Israele, ia aminte și ascultă! Astăzi*Cap. 26:18., tu te-ai făcut poporul Domnului Dumnezeului tău. 10 Să asculți de glasul Domnului Dumnezeului tău și să împlinești poruncile și legile Lui pe care ți le dau astăzi."

11 În aceeași zi, Moise a mai dat următoarea poruncă poporului: 12 „După ce veți trece Iordanul, Simeon, Levi, Iuda, Isahar, Iosif și Beniamin să stea pe muntele*Cap. 11:29.Ios. 8:33.Jud. 9:7. Garizim, ca să binecuvânteze poporul, 13 iar Ruben, Gad, Așer, Zabulon, Dan și Neftali să stea pe muntele Ebal, ca să rostească*Cap. 11:29.Ios. 8:33. blestemul. 14 Și leviții*Cap. 33:10.Ios. 8:33.Dan. 9:11. să ia cuvântul și să spună cu glas tare întregului Israel: 15 ‘Blestemat să fie omul care va face un chip cioplit sau un chip turnat, căci este o urâciune înaintea Domnului, un lucru ieșit din mâini de meșter, și care-l va pune într-un*Exod 20:4,23;34:17.Lev. 19:4;26:1. Cap. 4:16,23;5:8.Is. 44:9.Osea 13:2. loc ascuns!’ Și*Num. 5:22.Ier. 11:5.1 Cor. 14:16. tot poporul să răspundă: ‘Amin*Exod 20:12;21:17.Lev. 19:3. Cap. 21:18.!’ 16 ‘Blestemat să fie cel ce va nesocoti pe tatăl său și pe mama sa!’ Și*Cap. 19:14.Prov. 22:28. tot poporul să răspundă: ‘Amin!’ 17 ‘Blestemat să fie cel ce va muta hotarele aproapelui său!’ Și tot poporul să răspundă: ‘Amin!’ 18 ‘Blestemat*Lev. 19:14. să fie cel ce va face pe un orb să rătăcească pe drum!’ Și tot poporul să răspundă: ‘Amin!’ 19 ‘Blestemat*Exod 22:21,22. Cap. 10:18;24:17.Mal. 3:5. să fie cel ce se atinge de dreptul străinului, orfanului și văduvei!’ Și tot poporul să răspundă: ‘Amin!’ 20 ‘Blestemat*Lev. 18:8;20:11. Cap. 22:30. să fie cel ce se va culca cu nevasta tatălui său, căci ridică învelitoarea tatălui său!’ Și tot poporul să răspundă: ‘Amin!’ 21 ‘Blestemat*Lev. 18:23;20:15. să fie cel ce se va culca cu vreo vită oarecare!’ Și tot poporul să răspundă: ‘Amin!’ 22 ‘Blestemat*Lev. 18:9;20:17. să fie cel ce se va culca cu soră-sa, fiica tatălui său sau fiica mamei sale!’ Și tot poporul să răspundă: ‘Amin!’ 23 ‘Blestemat*Lev. 18:17;20:14. să fie cel ce se va culca cu soacră-sa!’ Și tot poporul să răspundă: ‘Amin!’ 24 ‘Blestemat*Exod 20:13;21:12,14.Lev. 24:17.Num. 35:31. Cap. 19:11. să fie cel ce va lovi pe aproapele lui în ascuns!’ Și tot poporul să răspundă: ‘Amin!’ 25 ‘Blestemat*Exod 23:7,8. Cap. 10:17;16:19.Ezec. 22:12. să fie cel ce va primi un dar ca să verse sângele celui nevinovat!’ Și tot poporul să răspundă: ‘Amin!’ 26 ‘Blestemat*Cap. 28:15.Ps. 119:21.Ier. 11:3.Gal. 3:10. să fie cine nu va împlini cuvintele legii acesteia și cine nu le va face!’ Și tot poporul să răspundă: ‘Amin!’
