1 And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt take them to heart among all the nations whither Jehovah thy God*GodHebrew: Elohim hath driven thee, 2 and shalt return to Jehovah thy God*GodHebrew: Elohim and shalt hearken to his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy sons, with all thy heart and with all thy soul; 3 that then Jehovah thy God*GodHebrew: Elohim will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will gather thee again from all the peoples whither Jehovah thy God*GodHebrew: Elohim hath scattered thee. 4 Though there were of you driven out unto the end of the heavens, from thence will Jehovah thy God*GodHebrew: Elohim gather thee, and from thence will he fetch thee; 5 and Jehovah thy God*GodHebrew: Elohim will bring thee into the land that thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possess it; and he will do thee good, and multiply thee above thy fathers. 6 And Jehovah thy God*GodHebrew: Elohim will circumcise thy heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love Jehovah thy God*GodHebrew: Elohim with all thy heart and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live. 7 And Jehovah thy God*GodHebrew: Elohim will put all these curses on thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, who have persecuted thee. 8 But thou shalt return and hearken to the voice of Jehovah, and do all his commandments which I command thee this day. 9 And Jehovah thy God*GodHebrew: Elohim will make thee abound in every work of thy hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, for good; for Jehovah will again rejoice over thee for good, as he rejoiced over thy fathers; 10 if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of Jehovah thy God*GodHebrew: Elohim to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law; if thou turn to Jehovah thy God*GodHebrew: Elohim with all thy heart and with all thy soul.

11 For this commandment which I command thee this day is not too wonderful for thee, neither is it far off. 12 It is not in the heavens, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to the heavens, and bring it to us, that we should hear it and do it? 13 And it is not beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it to us, that we should hear it and do it? 14 For the word is very near to thee, in thy mouth and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.

15 See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil, 16 in that I command thee this day to love Jehovah thy God*GodHebrew: Elohim to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his ordinances, that thou mayest live and multiply, and that Jehovah thy God*GodHebrew: Elohim may bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it. 17 But if thy heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and thou shalt bow down to other gods and serve them; 18 I denounce unto you this day that ye shall surely perish; ye shall not prolong your days upon the land whereunto thou passest over the Jordan to possess it. 19 I call heaven and earth to witness this day against you: life and death have I set before you, blessing and cursing: choose then life, that thou mayest live, thou and thy seed, 20 in loving Jehovah thy God*GodHebrew: Elohim in hearkening to his voice, and in cleaving to him — for this is thy life and the length of thy days — that thou mayest dwell in the land which Jehovah swore unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

1 Când*Lev. 26:40. se vor întâmpla toate*Cap. 28:1. aceste lucruri, binecuvântarea și blestemul pe care le pun înaintea ta, dacă le vei pune la*Cap. 4:29,30.1 Împ. 8:47,48. inimă în mijlocul tuturor neamurilor între care te va risipi Domnul Dumnezeul tău, 2 dacă*Neem. 1:9.Is. 55:7.Plâng. 3:40.Ioel 2:12,13. te vei întoarce la Domnul Dumnezeul tău și dacă vei asculta de glasul Lui din toată inima ta și din tot sufletul tău, tu și copiii tăi, potrivit cu tot ce-ți poruncesc azi, 3 atunci*Ps. 106:45;126:1,4.Ier. 29:14.Plâng. 3:22,32. Domnul Dumnezeul tău va aduce înapoi robii tăi și va avea milă de tine, te va*Ps. 147:2.Ier. 32:37.Ezec. 34:13;36:24. strânge iarăși din mijlocul tuturor popoarelor la care te va împrăștia Domnul Dumnezeul tău. 4 Chiar dacă ai*Cap. 28:64.Neem. 1:9. fi risipit până la cealaltă margine a cerului, chiar și de acolo te va strânge Domnul Dumnezeul tău, și acolo Se va duce să te caute. 5 Domnul Dumnezeul tău*Cap. 10:16.Ier. 32:39.Ezec. 11:19;36:26. te va aduce în țara pe care o stăpâneau părinții tăi și o vei stăpâni; îți va face bine și te va înmulți mai mult decât pe părinții tăi. 6 Domnul Dumnezeul tău îți va tăia împrejur inima ta și inima seminței tale și vei iubi pe Domnul Dumnezeul tău din toată inima ta și din tot sufletul tău, ca să trăiești. 7 Domnul Dumnezeul tău va face ca toate aceste blesteme să cadă peste vrăjmașii tăi, peste cei ce te vor urî și te vor prigoni. 8 Și tu te vei întoarce la Domnul, vei asculta de glasul Lui și vei împlini toate aceste porunci pe care ți le dau astăzi. 9 Domnul*Cap. 28:11. Dumnezeul tău te va umple de bunătăți, făcând să propășească tot lucrul mâinilor tale, rodul trupului tău, rodul turmelor tale și rodul pământului tău, căci Domnul Se va bucura*Cap. 28:63.Ier. 32:41. din nou de fericirea ta, cum se bucura de fericirea părinților tăi, 10 dacă vei asculta de glasul Domnului Dumnezeului tău, păzind poruncile și rânduielile Lui, scrise în cartea aceasta a legii, dacă te vei întoarce la Domnul Dumnezeul tău din toată inima ta și din tot sufletul tău.

11 Porunca aceasta pe care ți-o dau eu azi nu este mai presus de*Is. 45:19. puterile tale, nici departe de tine. 12 Nu*Rom. 10:6. este în cer, ca să zici: ‘Cine se va sui pentru noi în cer și să ne-o aducă, pentru ca s-o auzim și s-o împlinim?’ 13 Nu este nici dincolo de mare, ca să zici: ‘Cine va trece pentru noi dincolo de mare și să ne-o aducă, pentru ca s-o auzim și s-o împlinim?’ 14 Dimpotrivă, este foarte aproape de tine, în gura ta și în inima ta, ca s-o împlinești.

15 Iată, îți pun azi înainte viața*Vers. 1,19. Cap. 11:26. și binele, moartea și răul. 16 Căci îți poruncesc azi să iubești pe Domnul Dumnezeul tău, să umbli pe căile Lui și să păzești poruncile Lui, legile Lui și rânduielile Lui, ca să trăiești și să te înmulțești și ca Domnul Dumnezeul tău să te binecuvânteze în țara pe care o vei lua în stăpânire. 17 Dar dacă inima ta se va abate, dacă nu vei asculta și te vei lăsa amăgit să te închini înaintea altor dumnezei și să le slujești, 18 vă*Cap. 4:26;8:19. spun astăzi că veți pieri și nu veți avea zile multe în țara pe care o veți lua în stăpânire, după ce veți trece Iordanul. 19 Iau azi cerul*Cap. 4:26;31:28. și pământul martori împotriva voastră că*Vers. 15. ți-am pus înainte viața și moartea, binecuvântarea și blestemul. Alege viața, ca să trăiești, tu și sămânța ta, 20 iubind pe Domnul Dumnezeul tău, ascultând de glasul Lui și lipindu-te de El, căci de aceasta atârnă viața*Ps. 27:1;66:9.Ioan 11:25. ta și lungimea zilelor tale și numai așa vei putea locui în țara pe care a jurat Domnul că o va da părinților tăi, lui Avraam, Isaac și Iacov."
