1 Woe is me! for I am as when they have gathered the summer-fruits, as the grape-gleanings of the vintage. There is no cluster to eat; there is no early fruit which my soul desired. 2 The godly man hath perished out of the land, and there is none upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood, they hunt every man his brother with a net. 3 Both hands are for evil, to do it well. The prince asketh, and the judge is there for a reward; and the great man uttereth his soul’s greed: and together they combine it. 4 The best of them is as a briar; the most upright, worse than a thorn-fence. The day of thy watchmen, thy visitation is come; now shall be their perplexity. 5 Believe ye not in a companion, put not confidence in a familiar friend: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom. 6 For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law: a man’s enemies are the men of his own household.

7 But as for me, I will look unto Jehovah; I will wait for the God*GodHebrew: Elohim of my salvation: my God*GodHebrew: Elohim will hear me. 8 Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: though I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, Jehovah shall be a light unto me. 9 I will bear the indignation of Jehovah — for I have sinned against him — until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light; I shall behold his righteousness. 10 And mine enemy shall see it, and shame shall cover her which said unto me, Where is Jehovah thy God*GodHebrew: Elohim Mine eyes shall behold her; now shall she be trodden down, as the mire of the streets. 11 In the day when thy walls shall be built, on that day shall the established limit recede. 12 In that day they shall come to thee from Assyria and the cities of Egypt, and from Egypt to the river, and from sea to sea, and from mountain to mountain. 13 But the land shall be desolate because of them that dwell therein, for the fruit of their doings.

14 Feed thy people with thy rod, the flock of thine inheritance, dwelling alone in the forest, in the midst of Carmel: let them feed in Bashan and Gilead, as in the days of old. 15 — As in the days of thy coming forth out of the land of Egypt, will I shew them marvellous things. 16 — The nations shall see, and be ashamed for all their might: they shall lay their hand upon their mouth, their ears shall be deaf. 17 They shall lick dust like the serpent; like crawling things of the earth, they shall come trembling forth from their close places. They shall turn with fear to Jehovah our God*GodHebrew: Elohim and shall be afraid because of thee. 18 Who is a ·God*GodHebrew: El like unto thee, that forgiveth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? He retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in loving-kindness. 19 He will yet again have compassion on us, he will tread under foot our iniquities: and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. 20 Thou wilt perform truth to Jacob, loving-kindness to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers, from the days of old.

Ziua vestită de toți prorocii Tăi, pedeapsa Ta, se apropie! Atunci va fi uluiala lor. 5 Nu crede*Ier. 9:4. pe un prieten, nu te încrede în ruda cea mai de aproape; păzește-ți ușa gurii de cea care îți stă în brațe! 6 Căci fiul*Ezec. 22:7.Mat. 10:21,35,36.Luca 12:53;21:16.2 Tim. 3:2,3. batjocorește pe tatăl, fata se scoală împotriva mamei ei, nora împotriva soacrei sale; vrăjmașii omului sunt cei din casa lui! 7 Eu însă voi privi*Is. 8:17. spre Domnul, îmi voi pune nădejdea în Dumnezeul mântuirii mele, Dumnezeul meu mă va asculta. 8 Nu te bucura*Prov. 24:17.Plâng. 4:21. de mine, vrăjmașă, căci, chiar dacă am căzut*Ps. 37:24.Prov. 24:16., mă voi scula iarăși; chiar dacă stau în întuneric, totuși Domnul*Ps. 27:1. este Lumina mea! 9 Voi suferi*Plâng. 3:39. mânia Domnului – căci am păcătuit împotriva Lui – până ce El îmi va apăra pricina și-mi va face dreptate; El mă va scoate la lumină*Ps. 37:6. și voi privi dreptatea Lui. 10 Când va vedea vrăjmașa mea lucrul acesta, va fi acoperită de rușine*Ps. 35:26., ea, care-mi zicea: „Unde*Ps. 42:3,10;79:10;115:2.Ioel 2:17. este Domnul Dumnezeul tău?" Ochii mei*Cap. 4:11. își vor vedea dorința împlinită față de ea. Atunci, ea va fi călcată în picioare ca noroiul*2 Sam. 22:43.Zah. 10:5. de pe uliță. 11 În ziua*Amos 9:11. când îți vor zidi iarăși zidurile, în ziua*Is. 11:16;19:23;27:13.Osea 11:11. aceea ți se vor lărgi hotarele. 12 În ziua aceea, vor veni la tine, din Asiria până în Egipt, din Egipt până la râu, de la o mare la alta și de la un munte la altul. 13 Dar, mai întâi, țara va fi pustiită din pricina locuitorilor ei, în urma faptelor lor*Ier. 21:14. Cap. 3:12. rele. 14 Paște-Ți poporul cu toiagul Tău, paște turma moștenirii Tale, care locuiește singură în pădurea*Is. 37:24. din mijlocul Carmelului; ca să pască pe Basan și în Galaad, ca în zilele de altădată. 15 „Îți voi arăta lucruri minunate", zice Domnul, „ca în ziua*Ps. 68:22;78:12. când ai ieșit din țara Egiptului." 16 Neamurile vor vedea*Is. 26:11. lucrul acesta și se vor rușina cu toată puterea lor; vor pune mâna*Iov 21:5;29:9. la gură și își vor astupa urechile. 17 Vor linge pulberea*Ps. 72:9.Is. 49:23. ca șarpele; vor ieși tremurând*Ps. 18:45. ca târâtoarele pământului, afară din cetățuile lor, vor veni*Ier. 33:9. pline de frică înaintea Domnului Dumnezeului nostru și se vor teme de Tine. 18 Care*Exod 15:11. Dumnezeu este ca Tine, care ierți*Exod 34:6,7.Ier. 50:20. nelegiuirea și treci*Cap. 4:7;5:3,7,8. cu vederea păcatele rămășiței moștenirii Tale? El nu-Și ține*Ps. 103:9.Is. 57:16.Ier. 3:5. mânia pe vecie, ci Îi place îndurarea! 19 El va avea iarăși milă de noi, va călca în picioare nelegiuirile noastre și va arunca în fundul mării toate păcatele lor. 20 Vei da*Luca 1:72,73. cu credincioșie lui Iacov și vei ține cu îndurare față de Avraam ce ai jurat*Ps. 105:9,10. părinților noștri în zilele de odinioară.
